2025-26 might turn out to be a very succesful season for us , no cup wins unfortunatley but depending on how far up the league we finish, what rewards can we look forward to?

Just found this  article on the BBC, due to the decline in Scottish clubs European results in recent  seasons it is getting harder for scottish clubs to progress.

How Scotland's European access will change

The thing that annoys me most about the Champions League is teams that win their domestic title but have to enter the competition at qualifying rounds. Meanwhile, other teams that finish 2nd or 3rd enter later in the competition.

I know the competition has been dead an buried as a proper Cup since the big teams ganged up and decided getting knocked out in a early round wasn't fair to them (or their bank balance), but they could at least have all the Champions qualify automatically and enter at the same stage.

I used to really enjoy the European Cup when it was 2-leg straight knock out. as it felt like a genuine competition. Now it's just yet another league that's manufactured to ensure the big teams win and are further enriched. I barely watch any of the games these days.

Totally agree, I just would like to get into Europe for the money and potential trip, but you're right , it's just a carve up for real, man city etc...thank God for teams like bodo glimt

So as is it stands we'd enter the conference league at QR2 and have to come through 3 qualifying rounds to make the group stage. I believe in only 1 of these rounds we would be seeded. If Jens fancies a crack at Europe with us then there's a real chance of progression but I'm not sure he will.

He was likening us to Bodo Glimt on commentary v St Mirren I mean they are an excellently run football club so to be like them would be class.

Heard JBA say a few times that their model is one he admires and would like to emulate.

I can imagine he would but given he's rarely spent longer than a year at a club in his managerial career, I imagine he'll not be sticking around long enough to da that here.

Maybe he realises that building something with us will get him the bigger jobs he clearly merits?

I get that money talks. But if you have a longer term strategy you could build firmer foundations for a longer career.

Would he be able to do that at a bigger club, though? I have my doubts, and feel that he is already at a place where he can do this.

It would be absolutely surreal if he stayed and turned us into the Scottish Bodo/Glimt.

Not sure I would be able to cope with being that good! 😍😍😍

I'd love him to stay a couple years and build Motherwell into a club that resembles Bodo Glimt I just think in reality he'll lose a few key players in the summer and we're not likely going to give him much of the money from the sales, he's got no real affinity to the club other than he seems to be enjoying it and from the sounds of it is on a couple of clubs radar. (Celtic and Copenhagen if rumours are to be believed.)

If Celtic or Copenhagen come in for him he will be gone (paricularly the latter). But Im not so sure some of the other names banded about will tempt him.

I think he only moves in a summer window to a bigger club where he thinks he can replicate the success he has had in implementing his style with us.

He wont want to risk any backward steps.
