Mad Dog
I'm in my 50th year and this season will probably be my last playing football, so I'd like to go out on a high. I'm hoping that there will be another one of these fans games on at the end of the season, so that I have an excuse to treat myself for my birthday, travel up to Scotland, kick a ball about and have a few beers after. Few things to get the ball rolling: If anyone here has participated in past events, please share your experiences (behind the scenes and on the pitch). What is the standard like or is it all mixed abilities / fitness? Roughly how much could a place in the team cost (got to factor hotel and flights into my budget). Get fit for it, FP is bigger than it looks and drags the legs from you. Try for the home team if you can, our away facilities are terrible and the dressing room has 2 broken radiators you can't switch off for the lulz, Standard is fat fucks to decent amateur whenever I've been involved (maybe 8/9 times) Cost depends if it's an auction style? Rolling sub is your best bet as not many last 90 minutes, I would reckon you'd get a game at CH for less than up front, ball park 100 - your max

I'll be looking to play either left or right back and had been thinking of playing for the away team (just because I like the shirt and have loads of C&A already), but may have to reconsider that.

Just don't really like the idea of it yet, still feel young in my head.

Mad Dog
I see that those involved need to be at Fir Park from 6pm until 11pm. Is there a tour around Fir Park, and what normally happens afterwards? I've got the green light to bid on a shirt and, if successful, I'll be travelling up with my wife and children. Just trying to figure out the logistics of it.
Richie
Played 2 years ago. No tour, just straight into dressing rooms. After it there was a reception in Centenary Suite.

It was an amazing experience, I loved every minute of it and is was a privilege to play on such a good pitch. The ball was really zipping of the surface, something that is not obvious when watching games on TV. If anyone on here plays football to a reasonable level and hasn't given this a go, please do, you won't regret it. Hopefully they'll do this again next season. Starting shirts cost £200-£300, which is a small price to pay for such an amazing opportunity. Substitutes are drawn from a raffle of Well Society members. This will stay with me forever! 4
