Post Split Fixtures

Pretty much as expected although the order is a bit odd.  The usual factors determined the list. Home to Hearts and v Celtic (midweek) and Hibs away last game. Happy enough with that except that the Celtic game is midweek. No 3pm Saturday home fixtures. As expected, Falkirk get an extra home game; well done them.

I can't see any title winning games at Fir Park.

That's what we were due so we can't have any complaints.

We might not have any title winning games at Fir Park but we could still end it for all three.  Well, two but you know what I mean!

It’s so tight I think probably it is only Celtic we could end if for.  The other two have a couple of games still to go.

on the basis it’s not us winning league, I’d love it if we effectively handed Hearts the league by beating Celtic having secured 4th place for ourselves.

We tried that in 1991 I seem to recall. If we beat Rangers by 3 clear goals in our second last league game, it meant Aberdeen only needed a draw in their last game at Ibrox  to win the league.

We did our part, then Aberdeen bottled it.

Well, the GBH assault by Hately on the Aberdeen GK in the first few minutes certainly showed the way the wind was blowing that day. It was hard to imagine  Rangers being defeated at Ibrox in the circumstances: terrific pressure on the referee to do the right thing.

BTW, I thought it was customary that the team leading the league when the post-split fixtures were finalised played their last game at home? Hearts have now to go to Celtic Park on the last day.

These fixtures are appalling. Two home games out of five is fine in theory, but neither is at 3pm on a Saturday, and one’s midweek. As a season ticket holder with commitments beyond Saturday afternoons, it’s shite. But fairness isn’t a word the SFA or SPFL seem to understand unless it involves Celtic or Rangers.

Much as I dislike the pair of them, neither Celtic or Rangers have a 3pm Saturday kick-off in their final fixtures.

Agree 100%. The solution is for fans to hit the TV companies where it hurts... in their wallets. Unsubscribe! I did so years ago and have never regretted it.
