mio
Alfred’s silence on injured players at the presser suggests they must all still be fkd or extremely doubtful which is not great but it does sound like the burton Albion signing will be straight into the first 11. he did mention that HB are in a good run of form so it’ll be a tough game. I’m expecting a draw or a narrow loss and we can hopefully turn it around next week. Time will tell.

Kmcalpin
I suspect, like JBA, he's playing his cards close to his chest. If we haven't got a clue about our line up neither will HB.
mio
The manager does seem to have a wee but of an obsession with Mikey Booth? He’s mentioned him personally in 3 different interviews. In all honesty I thought there were better youngsters on show on Friday.
mio
Just noticed as well they have put tickets out for sale in the middle section of the lower south stand. That’s brilliant that we’ve sold almost all other tickets. Something like 100 tickets left in the POD, cooper and East.

Hopefully we can sell a good few in the McLean to make it worth our while and more importantly, improve the atmosphere.

Brings back memories of Nancy game when we had about 11,500 fans, those inflatable sticks we banged together, fans in full voice, place jumping............then ref blew to start game and it all went downhill 🤪🤪

I certainly feel it if we lose. Anger, disappointment, a sense of what could have been. But embarrassment? Why would I be embarrassed? That suggests it's somehow your fault? That you did something that caused us to lose?
Happyhonest
Nervous anxious and hopeful. C’mon the well! 3-1 to the Well. Cookie Fadinger and Said with the goals. This side will be sharp with good connections and a strong familiarity. To my mind the game for Said to give them a problem. Beat the first man and lay off a pass into the space caused as other opponents move to close him down. hopefull and positive
Coolhandluc
Both Longelo and Maswanishe took part in the latest training session on official site. Surely suggests both will take at least some part tomorrow night
grizzlyg
Probably get my nose bitten off as you aren't allowed to criticise them but I hear bois are doing a walk tomorrow to stadium which will be great and well supported.....however....can you leave the flares at home? I know we have plenty cash but we cant keep paying out fines for flare displays. Get that drum and vocal chords in full flow. Thats best way to support us. Please tell me it’s not up Airbles road. I need to drive a pensioner up to the game and with the road works going in I can be doing without any other delays. grizzlyg
While I am on a roll I hope mrs baillies bar is better organised tomorrow. Was ridiculous last week queueing for 20 mins to get a drink. Not going there tomorrow as that totally put me off going there in future

It is not a personal embarrassment for us as supporters or individuals because we have no input into the final outcome but I can understand why more generally the result could be seen as an embarrassment. Hearts 4-0 defeat last night is embarrassing for Scottish football generally. Hearts were a dodgy penalty decision away from being champions of Scotland last term. Scotland's display in the WC was embarrassing for us collectively as a nation. Motherwell have lost to part time European teams in the past. I think for the club and for the full time players involved in these games, it is embarrassing. Motherwell were a breath of fresh air last year and I would love to think that JBA and the team showed that there is another way and that they can compete in European football. It would be a real shame if we were to fall at the first hurdle. Having said that, HB are a full time outfit (I think). It will be a very tough game tomorrow.
El Grew
When we played them back in 1994 we won the home leg 3-0 and the away leg 4-1 to progress on aggregate 7-1. The object of tomorrow’s 1st leg must be to put the tie to bed by scoring at least 3 or 4 goals so that the return leg becomes a formality. If we can’t get past this round then we don’t deserve to be in it.

If we can’t get past this round then we don’t deserve to be in it. 1994 was probably one of our best ever sides. We went on to give Dortmund a real scare in the next round. I would hope we can still win the tie. But it might not be pretty tomorrow night. I actually think we are likely to be better in the away leg as we will have an extra weeks fitness under our belt and might have more players to choose from. Id happily take a 1-0 or 2-0 tomorrow with the expectation we wont lose over there.
Ya Bezzer!
We beat them 7-1 in the 1990's but I doubt it will be that easy this time around. The standard of Scottish football has dropped immeasurably since then. In recent times Scottish clubs have lost ties to teams from Andorra, Luxembourg, Gibraltar, Wales, Malta, Liechtenstein etc so you really can't take anything for granted. This is a tie we should be winning but I think it's just about getting through to the next round rather than chalking up a cricket score given the whole context around the match. I agree we will probably be in a better place for the away leg but it's important we don't travel at a disadvantage.
