Back for this one and we need 3pts. I hope the crowd can get right behind the team as a hostile atmosphere aint going to help.

I agree Grizzly but it will hinge on the manager picking the right players and the players then delivering a winning performance. At present I’ve no confidence in either.

If we lose, no matter whether we play well or not, sadly I think the board is going to have a big decision to make over the next few days. Their problem will be that if they do decide to pull the trigger, who will they replace him with.

I think JBA was fantastic for us last season but it is looking increasingly like it was a one off and trying to replicate it this season was always going to be mission impossible, especially given the players we lost.

JBA excepted, I’m not a fan of bringing in foreign coaches to Scotland. They quite rightly assume that the players who will be under their charge will have a certain level of ability and competence but that’s not the case as witness by the deplorable performances of our clubs in the various European competitions season after season.

Hibs and Hearts have both brought in foreign managers and the early signs are not good, especially for Hibs who are in the same boat as us right now.

A draw is the best we will get again.

Either 1-1 or 0-1.

Alfred OUT

In your measured opinion what would you do when we sack him? Do we revert to an older style British approach or do we fish abroad again and hope the analytics catch us a good one? Just curious to know what managers you like apart from Del.

I’d give Barry Ferguson a shout.

He knows the Scottish game and would undoubtedly be an upgrade on what we currently have and his appointment would be worth it just to see the reaction of certain people in our support alone.

Plus we have traditionally done well with managers from a Rangers supporting/playing background.

Hynd, Wallace and Watson being notable exceptions.

Sadly, I don’t think he is 🤣

If MJC had his way we’d have Wee Baz, and a backroom assistants pairing of Boab Malcolm and Kirk Broadfoot….

The unholy trinity

Does mcglynn not combine both styles?
I get the feeling people are snobbish about him in the same way Celtic and Rangers fans think every player they sign from anyone in Scotland is not good enough.

Yeah I agree, I think he’s a very good manager and has proved that at Raith and Falkirk with the limited resources he’s had. People look at his age and sadly how ridiculous he looks at the side of a park and there is a snobbish attitude. I do think at 64yrs old though that he’s found his home at Falkirk and I don’t ever see him leaving there unless he’s sacked.

Kind of, but he would definitely be an upgrade on the present incumbent. And it would be worth it just to get it right up the Rangers obsessed moonhowling element in our support.

Hoping to see a few tweaks to the starting line up.

Alfreds hands have been tied to an extent with injuries and fitness levels. But we must be getting to the stage where Kanga can start and be subbed around 60 minutes if he doesnt have 90 in him.

With Fadinger back, Id also like to see Jordan McGhee keep his place either at RCB or RB.

He is clearly a good player and his experience will hopefully help settle the backline.

Im not as down on Sparrow as some, albeit I do accept his defensive deficiencies, but taking him out of the firing line and using his energy as an impact sub could be useful imho.

I dont think its a must win in terms of our season. But for Alfred it kinda is purely due to the pressure building and the proximity of the international break.

My lineup would be......

                      Paulsen

McGhee   JKL   Moorman  Longelo

                Fadinger Hodge

                           Said

Maswanhise    SPH      Kanga

Hopefully Oscar, McGinn and Hendry can make the bench for some minutes later on once the game is won!

Tiresome.

Thats like someone suggesting Neil Lennon to get it right up you.

Edit: thats actually unfair on Neil Lennon as he actually has a decent track record as a football manager.

I should probably have said Scott Brown.
