Was that our ex player Callum Lang scoring two goals for PNE in the championship today?
-
He got two assists on Wednesday.

2/6 tae get in started following Rangers v Motherwell 05/09/2026
-
Not sure starting Mas is a good idea . Not done much at all this season and showed nothing on Wednesday night to keep him in the starting line up . Lot more effort needed from him. Wee Kanga on the other hand looked like he. could have run all night
-
Good starting XI and such a strong bench now.
-
If we keep the ball and control the game (and the referre/VAR dont do our legs) we win. If we go to gung ho and leave ourselves open on the transition, we will undoubtedly conceed and that will make things significantly harder. Controlled aggression is the key.

On paper or on bank balances we are on a hiding to nothing. Most seasons (until recently) we would head there hoping not to take a skelping. What a turnaround it is knowing we have a team who can take the game to Rangers. Will we? Maybe, maybe not but i fully expect us to give it a go. From what iv seen of both teams this season, theres no reason to be afraid Mon the well

One team today will play a much better brand of football and we can all be proud to know that’s us win, lose or draw I can’t ever recall a better time to be a Motherwell fan
-
Our record and mindset against them has improved tenfold since Alan Burrows left the club imo. He was one of the biggest champions of “punching way above our weight” and it’s no coincidence that several managers, notably McCall and McGhee whom he had close working relationships with, firmly bought into that. I don’t think we will get anything today but I also am 100% confident that whatever happens we won’t go into this game beat before a ball is even kicked like we did for far too many years.
-
Rangers, like Hearts and Celtic to a lesser extent, are all teams that now I feel we have a good chance of taking points off over the season, whether it’s today or the next meeting I’m not sure but I do expect us to give them a game and I know their fans will be worried about losing as much or more than us.

Don't get tired or drop back after the first 30 mins , please.

In years past this would be a write-off and one of the most meek, cringeworthy games I have been at was Ibrox the LC in 2012. More recently though we have seen a mindset change where we no longer seem overawed and have had statement victories at Ibrox in the past 3 seasons. No reason why we can't make it 4 in a row. Will be tough going there as ever, £10s of millions ploughed into the squad, the crowd and the inevitable weak refereeing, however we should absolute take it to them. We are capable of dismantling any team in the league. I'm relatively confident of coming back with at least a point. Rangers will be dangerous in attack, but they have had gaping holes in midfield, lack a proper 6 and have a defence which can be suspect. We go there, play our game, be brave and minimise unforced errors and see how we get on.

Downward spiral......

A statement win please today ‘Well against these knuckle dragging, funny handshake, sectarian bigots. its all I ask of you …. Should be straightforward enough.

I was watching this intently at the match and I never saw any squiggly lines, arrows or wee circles at all. Am I missing something or was I just to engrossed enjoying the skillful football and pinching myself that I was really watching my team Motherwell. COYW.

Hope yer brane gets well soon 😉

Mark Gillespe has benefitted greatly from the fact that he is a product of the Newcastle United youth academy. As such, his presence in their squad ticks an important box regarding clubs' youth development even if he is unlikely to ever get a first team game. If they see value in having him around then you cannot blame him for picking up ten grand a week (speculation) for turning up for training. He was a very decent player for us so good luck to the guy.

Ranger's defence seems to be their weakness right now, so we need to focus on that. Falkirk could have picked up a point against them if they had been a wee bit sharper.

Reading the above couple of posts my views slightly different on a couple of things, firstly, yes we’re a fan owned club but the society doesn’t run the club - that’s the job for the Motherwell board and if they got involved with everything folk on here wanted them to it would be bedlam and the club would suffer. secondly, just because the board had a feasibility study done they don’t have to make it public. No doubt it involves costs for rebuilding Fir Park against building a new stadium but the board, in my opinion , should have to weigh up the pro’s and cons of that, look at financing both options (if both are still viable) and then arrange for the financing of both before they make any public statement on them. At that point I’d expect the Well society to then ask for input from the members - but not an immediate vote on what opinion to go forward with, more a soft survey on members preferred opinions and willingness to help financially if required, as I believe both the board and the society need to be in step with this or we could end up financially screwed. The same thing goes for the seats, we’d need to know the costs involved not just in capacity reduction and financial layout to change them but for fan safety. I’d like for an independent safety risk check done which might advise removing them or stop selling hot beverages in the POD to mitigate the risks or something else entirely like removing seats to allow for extra walkways which would obviously reduce capacity as well.

Like how Alfred explained the situation with Olly Whyte and, whilst if he didn't go on loan, he would still get opportunities with us it perhaps wouldn't be the amount of minutes he needs for the stage he is currently at and how he contrasted that with Mikey Booth who is a bit earlier in his development and might benefit more from being around the first team rather than going out on loan just now. As for the game, they seem to improved a bit recently but very quietly confident, with a fair wind, we can get some kind of positive results to take us into the break before the Aberdeen game.

Sadly, true. And I have little confidence about the refereeing tomorrow. i meant centre circle btw: sausage fingers.
-
Not unbelievable if you remember who the ref was.
-
They can have 38 if they want . We dont need them.
-
We’ll both get into trouble from the site Puritans……..

Apparently 6-1 to win at some bookies. Seems disrespectful given we've beaten them three times in four at The Place but if I were a betting man..........
