Strange change of direction to switch from the Premiership's top goal scorer to a player who only scored one more league goal than me last season.

The BBC has it faults, but it's hamstrung by lack of funding. The live Championship games and Alba coverage are certainly fall into its public service remit. The website can be a bit hit or miss, but again much of that is down to funding with too few people being asked to do too much. I wouldn't be averse to a refresh of some of the pundits, and any service can be improved. I'd hate to lose it though, and be dependent on commercial channels. That would be wall to wall Old Firm.

The BBC sports news also covered the ‘barbed wire’ chat on Tuesday night so they are not ignoring us.

There are two articles and a podcast concerning Motherwell on the first two rows of the BBC Scottish Football web page. BBC radio live broadcasts just about every match day involving a Scottish club, league, cup or Europe. It also puts out daily podcasts and broadcasts a TV highlights show for every set of league fixtures and is set to broadcast live all Scotland matches on TV. They also live broadcast plenty of lower league matches. Scottish football has lots of problems but media coverage isn't one of them. Scottish Premiership clubs get vastly more coverage than similar sized clubs in the English lower leagues. It's fashionable to knock the BBC but if it didn't exist we'd be in a much worse situation. You'd be lucky if you even got a highlights package on terrestrial TV as its doubtful anyone else would pay for the rights.

The BBC is a publicly funded body, which has a duty to be impartial but of course it panders to the God of viewing figures and we all know what that means. STV is privately owned and is therefore held to less rigorous standards. Its primary responsibility is to its shareholders and therefore turn in a profit.

Fwiw, if you use the BBC Sport app instead, you can pick which teams and sports you’re interested in, and it generally does just show you stories about those on its home page with much less OF pish.

The coverage of football in this country is a disgrace all round but yes, the BBC is by far the worst of the lot. STV aren’t much better but they at least pretend to be interested in clubs outwith the Old Firm, Aberdeen and Dundee Utd.

STV is a total joke as well. However, its slightly more acceptable, as its privately owned, than the BBC which is a publicly owned organisation but doesn't act like it. Scottish sports coverage is poor but we all know why.

STV "Sport" last night went with Hearts were sh1te last night, Hibs might be sh1te the morra and some player getting photos of himself trying to put an armband on.

He definitely comes across well in these interviews, talks sense and is well grounded. I’m impressed and have had a couple of guys at work who support other teams also say they are impressed by him, one even says he could be better than JBA if he puts into practice what he says in the interviews and that he thinks the players listening to him will take a lot of confidence that losing JBA won’t disrupt the team. Hopefully he’s right.

Maybe its time we stopped visiting the BBC website?

Went on the BBC Sport website to get a match preview for tomorrow's European game to be welcomed with the headline news that Lawrence Shankland is to be the new Rangers Captain!!!! Who needs football matches when you have this kind of breaking news gold dust coming out of Ibrox.

First time I’ve listened to him talk to the press. Obviously speaks for himself And his thoughts but very much in the same mold as JBA. So I think MFC has done a great job and that we have the “same but different” and look to be serious about sticking to our new footballing philosophy.

Cause he is better playing wide and running at players for me much more effective. This is why we are needing to find someone in the middle that can stick the ball in the net or at least chip in with a few goals.
