Kettlewell getting married tomorrow so I put my differences aside and wish him and his future wife all the best and hope its a great day.,good job he isnt best man....speech would last about 3 hours!! 😂😂

Maswanhise definitely fits that mould on the left, but with this being Luca Ross’ first season in the first team and Nicholson likely set for another season on the physio table, we clearly need to bring in more attacking options. And you’re probably right about Stama being a second striker option.
-
Your "proper wingers" are currently tawa and luca/stuparevic? and maybe if were lucky nicholson (do see him more as a bench warmer this season) I do however think that if stama does stay fit this season he will more than likely end up playing as a SS to whoever our main man upfront may be
-
When you become the manager you can then decide whether to keep the sod , but until then the Donnell detractors will have to grin and bear . I don't think this new manager will take too long to discover our weaknesses and the defence was the major problem in the season just ended and that included the sod on multiple occasions . And if you ever become the manager then God help us.

Does wee callum know about this other love affair of yours?

I think most folk would like me to take a sabbatical so they can......enjoy the silence! 🤪

Hopefully he can get enough players in to fit the system he wants to play.
-
Also need to bear in mind that the training regime (which will be reviewed in great detail every week) will have 70% of them crocked on any given match day.
-
Agree 100%. As you say, I think Wimmer clocked really quickly what resources he had available and was savvy enough to adapt and find a way to get us over the line pretty comfortably. Concern would be that JBA isn’t prepared to shift (much or at all) on his principles (a bit like a certain Russell Martin at Southampton- yes, yes, different league etc. but similar issue) despite the personnel available - then it could be tough for everyone! But ………… gotta trust the guy, have faith, strap in for what could be a very interesting season ahead.
-
If you fling enough shit at a wall...

Putting the SOD and McGinn debate to one side, our biggest issue in recent seasons has been a leaky defence when playing with three centre-backs and wingbacks. At present, we’ve no natural wingbacks and only a few senior centre-backs. A switch to a back four is long overdue, and hopefully JBA makes that change. It might even resolve the SOD/McGinn dilemma in the process.

Stevie Frail joining the vampire at Killie. I almost feel sorry for him. Looks like wee eddy munster has signed about a dozen players over the past week….. very Kampman-esque …. Let’s hope the same fate awaits.
-
Both are past 30. Both pretty experienced. Both previously right backs who probably don't have the legs for the modern attacking full back role. Both probably more suited to playing in a back three. Do we really need what is effectively two players filling the same role? Had I a choice of the two, I'd probably have renewed McGinn. But given O'Donnell renewed automatically, I'd have chosen to sacrifice McGinn in order to free up a salary for a younger defender with a bit more legs/energy/power.. But, hey, as it is they are both under contract now. I don't know how much value for money we'll get out of that fact, but not much we can do about it now..
-
We could all argue about this for a year. Some people like SOD and some don't. Sod isn't going anywhere as far as I'm concerned and neither is McGinn but I'm sure there will be other signings coming in and it's up to the manager if they play or they don't
-
I would rather both had left, odonnell doesn't have the legs to play full back nowadays so we have shuffled him inside where he's an accident waiting to happen at centre half.mcginn has been a very solid player for us but it's asking a lot for him to come back in after missing nearly the whole of last season.were going to need back ups next season and that's the role they should be.
-
Disagree. Happy to keep them both. McGinn has been a very decent player for Motherwell. Don't see any reason to get rid of him
-
Agreed. As soon as O'Donnell's renewal clause kicked in, McGinn should have been shown the door...
-
The only Depeche Mode song I don't like - apologies to Martin Gore. Even Daves vocals can't save that one
-
I believe he does, people are just people
-
I think McGinn has been a good servant but I'd be concerned about a defence with a 33 year old O'Donnell and a 35 year old McGinn (October birthday) in it.
-
Wait no! I told my brother about that one - usually he beats me to everything Motherwell by 30 seconds.

Back in the pub (in Ryde in the Isle of Wight). I usually stay in Shanklin which is beautiful but theres two pubs - one used to be a spoons but it's a Greene King, absolutely stunning pub but the wine is twice the price of spoons - sacrilege!!! The funniest conversation I've ever had in the Isle of Wight was in a Londis shop where the guy behind the counter told me that Dave Gahan from Depeche Modes mum lives on the island and he comes over to see her from America - and cuts her grass. (for some reason I found that hilarious) Sorry to all the young people on here who don't know who Depeche Mode are. (I love Dave Gahan).

They do have two matches against Panathinaikos before they play us. If they struggle in those games there might be a wee bit pressure on them on the first day of the league season. Alternatively, their tails might be up.

SK is doing the same scatter gun approach he did with us. Sign tons of players and end up with one gem and 90% pish.
