  2. 5.45pm kick off is it on tv Just seen its on pishy premier, the channel no one watches
  3. I tend to agree but based on Saturday, none of Said, Maswanhise or Charles-Cook deserve to lose their place...
  4. Not criticising any of our players, they all have different styles and jobs to perform. for instance I admire Watt greatly does his job quietly nothing too fancy, always makes himself available and rarely makes mistakes. But for me Elijah has quick feet and a brain to match, if fit he has to be one of the first picks.
  5. Today
  6. Once we win both cups this argument will be immaterial!!
  7. I see where folks are coming from re the European argument. The only game Ive been away to was Athens and although it was sa great trip/experience, the football wasnt great. I must say, I would love to see how a JBA team gets on in European comptetition. I have a feeling it might be an entirely different experience. Of course, the League Cup doesnt present that opportunity and Id much rather see us win that than get Europe if it was a straight choice, but why cant we do both? First things first however, lets get our first league win in the bag and then we can start thinking about the semi-final.
  8. Not too fussed about Europe either, I will take a league cup win over Europe every season Great to finish 3rd and 4th, as we have had a great league season of course, but usually quite disappointing outcome Usually find as well the clubs who qualify for Europe have a very poor start to the league campaign
  9. He's not our player and he's the small fish now
  10. I thought it was interesting that JBA did call out Just as one of the best players so pretty sure he will be back in when fit, plus he has great assists stats already
  11. Thought we played well at the weekend attended after a surgery last week so the standing wasn't great but found a seat near the pitch which gave me a great view of our goal so all good. What really impressed me was that we've altered our tactic slightly to suit the players available or at least looked that way on another day we'd have bear aberdeen by more than one but glad we got over the line if we can get it over the line again on Saturday it'd be a fantastic return. Bit were off to hampden again
  12. The financial benefit makes it well worth playing in Europe - especially if you make it to the group stages. It's also something the players want to be involved with, and an added attraction for new signings. And, to be honest, I find the thought of playing a Euro game or two at the start of the season more appealing than a trip to New Douglas Park and yet another game against Morton.
  13. You are correct mate European Football leaves me completely cold. Couldn't care if I never saw another European game ever again. Although I accept if we have a great season, which Id always want , that comes as part of it. Id never spend a single penny going abroad to watch a European game again Seen it done it , the novelty's past and our efforts in general have been dismal in our 38 outings. Happy to say I was fortunate to watch our best performance away (Dortmund) but all the rest, other that Odense and Nancy, have been a whole lot of nothing in my view. The money is a bonus I know but I never started supporting Motherwell to watch a balance sheet. I watch for excitement , drama and decent football and European football , for us, has produced very little of that. I don't expect anyone else to agree its just a personal opinion. For others who love it, great lap it up, if it arrives.
  14. Was same under Kettlewell to be fair but what we seem to have is an incredible team spirit and the link between players and supporters us great. Elliott Watt ( an unsung hero) shares great instagram posts of his family and kids all in well gear. Is great seeing the players so united and yes it's a job in progress but such a feelgood factor at the moment. COYW
  15. I also tend not to be that excited by the prospect of Europe. Any cash is welcome and it's a sign (generally) of having watched us win a few games to get there and that's a good thing. But I think having seen us in Europe a few times, the novelty has worn off. However a mate of mine did make the point that it would be nice just once to have a go at Europe with the good team that got us there. Frustration is often we have a team that's good enough to qualify, then we lose half of them at the end of the season and we're in qualifying in July bedding in a new team, with players sometimes not as good.. Other than Slattery, all our key players are under contract for next season. Maybe now is the time to qualify..?
  16. No mugs just thugs as usual they will try and kick us off the park.
  17. Indeed, I get no satisfaction whatsoever seeing other provincial clubs doing well, it just annoys me that it isn’t us. On a completely different note, should we manage to win the league cup (a very, very tall order I know) we can do so in the knowledge that we don’t get European qualification as a result. For me personally and from what I’ve seen from your posts that is a big positive! We win a big shiny domestic trophy and we are spared the embarrassment/damp squib that the European ‘award’ would inevitably bring. Happy days eh! 🏆
  18. I think that's when he was suspended. I'm sure there were other stories that came out later too.
  19. I didn't know that he was suspended by the sfa. But I seem to remember some kind of bribery accusations involving an Italian team , but I might be wrong.
  20. Just can't see who "liked" posts on this thread...float mouse over and I think it used to tell you? Doesn't seem to any more...anyone else see this?
  21. Mair like glass half fool thread ? 🙄
  22. When the 1970's version of the SFA suspends you for improper behaviour, like they did with Gordon, you must have been really corrupt.
  23. The other take from the posts above are that whichever team starts we have very decent players on the bench to sub on and maintain the level of performance. I think Said is benefitting greatly from all the playing time he is getting at the moment and might even retain his inclusion in starting line ups.
  24. Totally agree. we played Rangers of the pitch in the first half, and the Rangers players had a word with that excuse for an unbiased referee and he gave them a ridiculous penalty, with Derek Johnstone running away from the goals, went down without being touched. Total fix.
  25. You don’t think? I’m certain they don’t. All they get to do is offer opinions. The rest of your view makes sense, but I still stand by my view on managerial bollocks.
