Yeah Charlie was one of the greatest players of his era altho theSFA selectors didn't think so!
-
That has also gone out of fashion. Was reading an article a couple of weeks ago about the modern game almost completely eliminating the traditional goal scoring centre forward.
-
Great name Wullie, but my favourite player of that era was the man whose photo I use, that of Charlie Aitken.
-
"Abandon hope all who enter here!" Run, Willie, run!
-
Its the guys in front that gave him the clean sheets some games he never had a save to make. He's just an average keeper in a good team.
-
I think I read somewhere that he's one of, if not the best, distributor of the ball in his position in Scotland. Which is a huge part of the skillset clubs look for from a goalkeeper nowadays. There's a reason why clubs are sniffing around him.
-
Yup , appreciate your view pal and see where you are coming from but for me he is an average keeper
-
But not with his particular skillset, which is a requirement for how we play now. Those better keepers from years gone by might not be a great fit for how we play today. In the past, it was basically a case of looking for someone who could stop shots and be decent coming for crosses. Changed days.
-
And goalscoring not a priority for hendry and RCC 🤣
-
And probably better. His clean sheet record great but just my opinion, we have had better keepers over the years
-
Any keeper who replaces Ward, if we sell him, will more than likely come with the same attributes.
-
Celtic, Wycombe and Jagielliona Bailystok no less. The ship has sailed on keepers with shot stopping and crosses skill in the same way defending and tackling is no longer a top priority for full backs.
-
Probably usual bull but apparently sellik interested in Ward, that's fine...sell him for £1.5 million, sign a replacement for 1/5 the cost who will be as good if not better. I like my keepers saving shots and good at. Crosses
-
Bellshill can win the league tomorrow without kicking a ball...should Threave lose or draw at Lesmahagow, then its mathematically over. 2 home games remaining, on the 2nd of May v Forth and 9th May v Lesmahagow...both 2pm kick offs

The gaffer
-
Ba bum ???
-
I’m sure Willie will find out 🤣
-
It was Willie Miller of Hibs that done it.
-
Should be warn Willie about my jokes and MJC's positive vibes? 🤣🤣🤣
-
Nice username. Are you any relation of…
-
Aye infront of the main stand as well. Put him out the starting eleven of the cup final team they targeted him right from the start of the game . Hated Hibs even more after that.

Welcome to the site. It’s a real balance of people who are quite positive and people who expect and predict we are beaten in every single game. I know all about the ancell babes and I can still rhyme off the 1951 league cup winners and 1952 Scottish cup winning teams by heart as it was drummed into me as a kid but my earliest memories are the late 70s so I missed the boat watching the ancell team unfortunately.
