  1. Past hour
  2. My very 1st game at Fir park that night, took me 20 mins to work my way to the front of the old terracing where the cooper stand is now, before i could see anything.
  3. Oh christ don't tell me Gordon will be playing tomorrow he is the only player when i see starting that gives me the fear! I think we will win tomorrow 2-1 to the Claret and Amber. Watt and Tj to score.
  4. Today
  5. This is sad news. Did he not have a great game against a very strong Tottenham Hotspur when we beat them at Fir Park in the Texaco Cup? What a night that was (3/11/70)!
  6. Missing Welsh and Johnny K certainly weakens us in a squad sense as it removes options for freshening things up. However, SOD & McGinn have been very good in the middle together so Id expect them to start. As Ive posted elsewhere, Celtic aren't without their own issues, with CVV, Johnston, Trusty, Engels and MacGregor all likely to be missing and possibly Tierney as well. Centre half pairing likely to be Scales & Dane Murray, so I think they can be got at. Martin O'Neill teams are generally solid and hard to play against, so Id expect a harder game.than we got at Fir Park, but by the same token they are not gonna play a low block and hit us on the counter, so we should get more space to play our football. We need some chaos back in our lives! Go Ibi! 🧡❤️🧡
  7. Both options would be good value for money.
  8. Pretty unusual that this will be our third game against Celtic this season and the third manager we have faced. Rogers, Nancy and O’Neil. I imagine this game will be more like the previous one at parkhead but I think even in that game we still matched up well with Celtic. I’m assuming we will have more space to play football in this game versus against Dundee last week so I’ll be expecting Just, Said and JT to be more influential and hopefully some decent shots from our midfield around the edge of the box. Probably our main concern is defense since Welsh is out and Johnny K is still out but if we can maintain the ball for a large percentage of the game then that’s our best form of defense.
  9. JBA has made such a difference in such a short time that sometimes you have to take a step back and remind yourself of just how much progress we have made. Yes, losing was a big disappointment but that was the only game we have lost in 18 against bottom 6 teams. We still dominated the game but just couldn’t manage to get the goals to win it. I was pleased to see JBA’s after match response which was very calm, sensible and measured, giving plaudits to Dundee for making it a very hard game for us amd also sticking by our players for their efforts. Being philosophical a not throwing anyone under the bus, basically sticking by the outlook he has preached all season, “there will be games, where, despite our best efforts, we will get beat”. Keep doing what we are doing well and work on improving in areas where we can do better.
  10. Delighted for him after the ridiculous abuse he got at times last season. Guy is a human being snd didn't deserve it. Just shows you what happens when you have a coach that believes in you. I was on a right downer after Dundee result which isn't like me but I really hope we can beat sellik tomorrow or at least avoid defeat COYW
  11. That was my recollection too. According to Wankipedia....Brown quickly showed a keen interest in being involved in the coaching side of football and he became assistant manager of Motherwell in 1974.[9] He got his first managerial job as part-time manager of Clyde in 1977, where he spent ten seasons
  12. Craig Brown was the reserve team coach I think. I don't remember Billy Campbell as an assistant manager but he stayed in the Knowetop area and used to drink at the Cricket Club in Dalziel Estate,. A nice guy and always happy to chat about the 'Well, I'm sorry to hear of his passing.
  13. SODs looks and sounds like a different player now. So pleased he is enjoying himself. Seems like one if lifes good guys! Interesting he referenced that some managers can "throw you under the bus" wonder if Graham Alexanders ears were ringing! 😆😆😆
  14. I was very young, but I thought Craig Brown was McLeans assistant, or was he just a coach?
  15. Yeah, that's him. The official site says he was McLean's assistant, but I honestly can't remember that.
  16. Personally just for the good laugh, i'd rather Robinson got Aberdeen relegated.
  17. Bit late on the Robinson front but hope that is the nail in the coffin for St Mirren and they end up going down would be good for them to get stuck in the championship for a few seasons so I don't need to see their fanbase crying on Twitter every other week, Wouldn't mind any of the 4 teams in the Play-off race up. Probably would rather it be Arbroath as I'd be confident of no matter who we lose that we'd finish above them.
  18. Billy Campbell from Northern Ireland? I remember him playing for us but my memory of him as Assistant Manager is hazy.
  19. Billy Campbell has died, aged 81. Was he assistant manager to Willie McLean or Bobby Watson?
  20. Long way to go but moving in right direction on and off field. Tomorrow massive and I really hope we can get a positive result
  21. Only second to watching the team ☺️ I can remember trying to endure listening to previous managers and found it hard , tedious . I used to think if I struggle with 10 mins what must the players think listening every day at training . shows just how much of a class act this guy is.
  22. Yesterday
  23. No, thats right. Its just south of the Lofoten Islands. If I recall rightly its only second in size to Tromso in northern Norway.
  24. The JBA pre match interview on a Thursday is becoming one of my favourite things to watch, it’s like waiting for your favourite tv programmes next episode. The man is class.
  25. Hadn't any intention of continuing the dialogue but as you specifically asked for details on Aberdeen fans invading the park on SCF day last year, you can find any amount of pictures and accounts you want from all the main newspapers specifically PA . Occurs at full time and after Aberdeen's equaliser. As for the goading of Celtic fans ( albeit not of the stark nature of Rangers fans last Sunday) this was commented upon by various radio broadcasters such as RS as well as the view that the Celtic fans had ignored the incursion perhaps seeing it as simple ribaldry--- oh the contrast ! Feel free to checking it out. The fact is that it pretty well debunks your misplaced assumption that Celtic fans would have reacted . But I suspect even with this evidence you'll find some way of saying " aye but" !!
  26. Yup, don't like seeing any player injured but it isn't going to weaken us, not been impressed at all with RCC
  27. Their average home attendance is just under 7,000. They've been getting around 8,000 for European games.
