  1. Today
  2. Nah, he was daft enough to do it on live tv when winning by 3 goals so deserved what he got I'm afraid...we will miss him too.
  3. That's true if those others were caught in match. But other than the two match suspended nonsense, Slattery received the same punishment as others who were later found to have conned officials into awarding penalties/ red cards. Exactly what we were demanding when Kipre was sent off after Brown conned the referee. Plenty of other examples of similar punishments in the past. Despite comments to the contrary this was not a ground breaking or historic decision. Rangers appealed when it happened to them insisting contact had been made (Aluko dived to win a penalty in a 2-1 win over Dunfermline - 2 match ban) and were unsuccessful. But far easier to ignore precedents and play the victim card. Slattery got caught, got punished in line with others. It's done. Would we have complained had Scott Brown been cited and banned for two games with the Kipre red card rescinded? As others have said, the real issues here are inconsistency and the ineptitude of VAR and the match officials. Had they done their job correctly then it would have been dealt with immediately at less cost to Motherwell and Slattery. In an ideal world, with the introduction of VAR, situations like this should not occur. But in reality they will as long as players continue to exaggerate contact.
  4. The refereeing is really poor for sure but guys hoing down easily isn't going to help.
  5. I said it when c*ntwell did same thing to slatts, an opposition player is going to miss some games, win bonuses , his place in team ...all while offending players team is winning. I think Slatts is a cracking player and he's come through a hard time but he messed up here , no getting away from it.
  6. He deserved a yellow card; the same as others guilty of the same offence.
  7. Slattery has to take some responsibility for his embarrassing antics. The poor refereeing made it worse and the retrospective action compounded the incompetence by handing out a 4 match ban for something that would have been a yellow card in-game. So an embarrassment all round, with each decision worse than the next. I can't speak for anyone else, but I hate cheating more than I hate bad decisions. And that applies to our players too.
  8. No it was'nt, if he had went down easily or for you " dived" won us a penalty that won the cup etc, would we all be complaining, i think not, so lighten up on Slattery. The real embarrassment is the standard of refereeing in Scotland which is 100% responsible for this whole shit show.
  9. Sorry, but Slats got what he deserved. Utterly embarrasing.
  10. Yesterday
  11. Played 2 years ago. No tour, just straight into dressing rooms. After it there was a reception in Centenary Suite.
  12. Robinson gets the full backing of Strachan. Seems like only yesterday that Strachan was backing another ex-Motherwell boss.
  13. Remember Eli was playing last night. So he should be well on his way home by now. Hopefully flying via Singapore.
  14. They will play blocking style try to stop us passing forward, as other teams have recently, with some success and hope to take thier chances when they come. Fingers crossed the rest will have done us good. Hopefully we will be prepared to mix things up a bit and no keep tring to walk it into the net . A win will go a long way to securing 4th and still keep dreaming of 3rd.
  15. He won our player of the month for March and sent a wee video message from the airport, by the look of it.
  16. Hope Eli has is case packed and heading to the airport. We will need him for the run in, especially next two games with Slats out. perhaps the Slats fiasco will be a rallying call for the players amd JBA will have them well Drilled and fired up for this game. He’s had two weeks to work with JT on getting back to scoring form. If we can get back even close to our best then we should be able to secure all 3 points.
  17. I really struggled - hard to watch . Japan are a well drilled team who have evolved significantly over recent decades . happy that we’ve become spoiled with our approach watching our beloved Well but it equally highlights where nationally we’re not progressing. Don’t get me wrong I’m delighted for Scotland to be at the World Cup and the final qualifying game was incredible but suspect we’ll spend most of the games chasing shadows . Hopefully our club approach can influence the broader game in Scotland , including national team . meanwhile really looking forward to getting back to league action - hope we have a bit of zip on our game and take all 3 pts .
  18. I have posted the highlights in the General Football thread of this game.
  19. Watching Steve Clarke’s Scotland is utterly depressing. Saturday can’t come quick enough.
  20. Eli Just scores for New Zealand against Chile. Subbed after 72 mins. Currently 4-0.
  21. Last week
  22. I see that those involved need to be at Fir Park from 6pm until 11pm. Is there a tour around Fir Park, and what normally happens afterwards? I've got the green light to bid on a shirt and, if successful, I'll be travelling up with my wife and children. Just trying to figure out the logistics of it.
  23. From The Guardian - no surprise here but the numbers are in: New survey finds 91% of fans believe football is better off without VAR Only 2% thought VAR ‘makes football more enjoyable’ 81% prefer watching games without video technology In a poll of more than 7,000 fans, the vast majority of whom attend matches, only 2% agreed with the statement that VAR “makes football more enjoyable”, and 3% said it made the experience of attending a match better, while 91% disagreed. Of those polled, 81% said they preferred watching matches without video technology. For fans cited in the survey, the biggest specific problem with VAR was the delay in reaching decisions: 96% of those polled disagreed with the statement that VAR decisions are “generally resolved in a reasonable amount of time”. Meanwhile, 92% agreed with the statement that “VAR has removed the spontaneous joy of goal celebrations”.
  24. Can't say I blame the lad, she looks terrifying these days.
  25. Maybe this will be the season where he is finally found out. Although, given the jobs for the boys approach still prevelant in the Scottish game it's just as likely he'll either get a new contract at County or be quickly employed elsewhere. The Motherwell, Killie and County fans certainly know the score: "As for Kettlewell, I wouldnt want him to be given the gig next season no matter what happens. I'm not convinced there is a manager there at all" Maybe potential future employers will finally catch on.
  26. Kettlewell is a fraud. We all know this.
  27. A few comments over at P&B that sum up the feelings of the County fans, but this one seems the most familiar: "Wherever this shit-show ends up it can't be Kettlewell next season. It really can't. The only plan for getting up the pitch is half-winning a 50-50 by nudging the ball forwards and then hoping to win the next 50-50. And repeat until we lose one of these contests. There are no passes, just nothing that looks like a County player spotting someone who is open to receive the ball. The worst possible outcome would be to somehow stay up and rewarding him with a new contract."
