The proof will be in the pudding when they get to the training ground. That's where a manager is judged. Players can tell from how he runs his training sessions, how hard he works them, what he asks of them, and his tactical nouse how effective a manager he is. Aura and presence are definitely a thing, but they only get you so far. Yogi Hughes has aura and presence, but he would very likely immediately lose this squad of players after a few training sessions.

Alfred the Excited. All jokes aside, that was a good interview.
-
Good press conference with the new manager. Came across well. Looking forward to seeing what he can do. on a side note all the best to him and his wife with the birth of their kid. Hope all goes well and they grow up to be a Motherwell player!

Raskin isn't worth 20 million joob joobs. Even Rangers fans I know are not impressed.
-
Absolutely!

Rangers are reported to be seeking around £20m for Nicolas Raskin. Nicolas Raskin Played 96 games for Rangers, scored 11 goals, has 15 caps and played twice at the 2026 World Cup. Elijah Just Played 35 games for us, scored 7 goals, has 46 caps, has played twice at the World Cup and scored twice. So using Rangers logic, Elijah Just must be in that bracket, so we should be looking for around £20m. 🤔

Lets be honest as Motherwell fans we should think that every player who has played for the club since 1886 is the greatest. But as we know thats not strictly true, so it would probably be easier to list the dross we have seen over the years. The criteria would also be easier ie "they were feckin hopeless as footballers" being the only one.

Therein lies the problem the other 10 Premiership clubs only look to their own self interests and are not going to rock the boat to address the issues. The premiership has the 11-1 voting criteria required before any changes can be made, which effectively means the ugly sisters can determine what happens and what does not to suit themselves. All of the other 30 clubs outwith the premiership dont really care what goes on as they dont have to use VAR, never play the uglies, never have to deal with the stadium damage etc, so they dont get involved Until the premiership clubs, mainstream media, Scottish Government, police Scotland etc start calling out these issues, nothing will ever change. The SFA / SPFL blazers will continue as the cozy wee self interested clique it is, travelling the world on their expense accounts desperately trying to get their big teams to like them.
-
The league winning teams and cup winning teams would need to be included
-
One for the Society to find its voice on I think.
-
That's an excellent example but the SFA censuring The Untouchable McGregor? It's never going to happen, which is the problem in a nutshell.
-
I’m not even sure the same person would pick the same 100 if we done it every year.

I don't have a problem with the SFA deciding to do this, but only on the basis that they'll go back through every Celtic press conference, pre and post match interviews, general interviews, tweets and website stories or match reports. Otherwise it's just another pathetic show of crawling and saying to Celtic "like us, like us please." I'll even start them off, Callum McGregor on Trusty's red card against Hibs: "To send him off for that, we may as well all go up the road and stop playing football if that's going to be a red card every single week." Is the tweet by Watt any worse than that?

Full investigation of the SFA otherwise known as Celtic Football Association by a third party is required. Will the Celtic players who were pictured mocking our Sam with hands on their head be cited. Will ONeil be cited for having private conversations with Collum and complaining about referee decisions. Its time our club, Hearts and others called out the influence that Celtic have on our game. Its beyond a joke. We need to fight our right for freedom of speach and consistancey of these punishments. There has been many instances throughtout season of players, management questioning decisions. Nothing was done then, so why now? Time our lawyers got involved. The club that has caused the biggest problems getting off practically scot free whilst other clubs are hammered. Time clubs grew a backbone! Watt will get a hefty suspension for this to deflect and made an example of. Its what the CFA do...
-
It's not clear yet whether this is an ill-judged panic measure by the SFA or their usual vindictiveness when challenged. Either way the clubs, as constituent members of the association, should be instituting a complete overhaul of the refereeing system (including VAR) in Scotland to ensure its proper transparency and accountability. Why is the kowtowing to Celtic so blatant when they are only one club? Unfortunately, the clubs seem feeble and self-serving generally and reluctant to combine to stand up for themselves, so any reform is unlikely to happen and the Scottish game will descend in to further farce and loss of credibilty in the "authorities".

Clear vibes of “move on, move on, nothing to see here! But if you speak out about this we’re coming down on you” right here.
-
They should engage the FSU.
-
And McInnes now cited for his comments regarding the penalty. Clear pattern emerging here. Dissention in the ranks cannot be tolerated.
-
And the Celtic players and fans got a gentle tap on the knuckles. They've got their priorities the wrong way around.
-
They really don't know when to leave things well enough alone.
-
Well that’s not so bad, I’m glad that happened. As I said I’m sure he has spoken well of us in the past but I’d never heard him do it.
-
A few years ago my brother was given a hospitality table at Parkhead for a Motherwell game and Boyd was one of the ex Celtic players doing the rounds of the table when he got to the one full of Well fans he sat down chatted and had a laugh talking about his time at Motherwell. He spent so long that one of the other guys had to come over and ask him to go talk with other tables. I get that he’s reported to have said things and I don’t agree with that but I’ve got to give him his due on that occasion.

The Herald reporting that we are facing sanctions for social media posts about the Celtic penalty award in this match, as is Elliot Watt.
