Can only echo what others have said. We held up well against Freiburg when it was 11 v 11. They were still the better team in both games, but they were mostly unable to make their class show until our numbers were effected. No complaints about last nights red card, as clear as they come. But I did think we shoulda had a penalty for hand ball in the first half. It looked clear as day from where we were standing. Proud of the team and the efforts they put in. I think we have the makings of a very good side. Hopefully things will start to settle down a bit now and we will get to see the best of them.

Hard to give it to anyone other than Paulsen last night, although I thought Seb did a power of running, albeit it wasnt enough to effect the game.

There is absolutely no disgrace in losing to a club of Freiburg’s size and yes we had to play on the back foot more than we’d have liked but in both legs they were only able to subdue us after we had gone down to 10 men. That fact is worth remembering in that we had to play for just over a third of this tie with only 10 men. I do think we were really unlucky in the draw for the play-off round in getting Freiburg - Larne for example got Lincoln Red Imps from Gibraltar and our two biggest clubs got very favourable draws against clubs they were expected to beat but couldn’t. Also don’t forget that In 9 games so far this season we have only lost twice in 90 minutes and both against last season’s Europa League runners-up who brought in roughly £70 million worth of transfer fees this summer alone. Their average home gate is about 34,000 and they have access to much more TV revenue in a year than we’ll see in 10 years. All in all a lot to be proud of so far and hopefully we can build on this and have another good season in the league and maybe qualify for Europe again. The only way to improve at that level is to get more regular exposure. That will raise the club’s standing and make us an attractive option for players we might want to bring to the club. COYW. 🇪🇸

And they are probably pi*sing themselves at us old squares getting annoyed at them

At the Helsinki game at FP , I was close to block e( the area not the fans) although there were probably some block e ( fans , not the area) in there. Anyway there was a guy there with the megaphone thing and he spent the game facing away from pitch...my point is not everyone is that interested in the game , its the vibe/ atmosphere/ chance to be a star I doubt he is bothered by an appeal from club, maybe some of his posse could put pressure on him? It's all well and good but when it crosses into costing us money.

Im not in favour of a blanket ban on any group of supporters. No one fan should suffer because of the action of others. However, that works 2 ways. We cant be far off from UEFA starting to intervene with our ticket allocations for away European nights. That would be galling for most. As soon as I saw the flares last night, my heart sank as the club will be forced to act in a way that can only harm the current feelgood factor within the club. Time for those responsible to take some responsibility.
-
He was in good shape and in Bristol fashion when he signed with us.
-
You were the very person that used to complain about our record at Ibrox and Parkhead because we had the wrong mentality and never went into those games believing we could win. Whats the difference here?
-
The club can and should take action to identify those responsible for causing the problems at FP. However it’s much more difficult to do this for away games. The only way to do this would be for the club to handle the ticket sales for all away games and record details of everyone who buys a ticket. On the down side this would create an extra admin burden on the club and it would need the cooperation of the away club not to sell tickets outwith this.

I mean the pictures I have seen it wouldnt be that hard to identify them however the club refuse to take a hard line with them for some reason. Either do something about it or just fritter away money time and time. They released a statement and it didn't work so sadly its iron fist time and grow a set of balls.

When you are accusing someone of doom and gloom then it must be bad! 🤣🤣
-
From Bristol, isn't he? He'll bring the average age of our squad up quite considerably.
-
I feel the same way - it’s a shame we don’t have the weekend off as suspect mentally and physically the team has gone through a lot . The team needs time to gel , find the best starting 11 . id be delighted to see a few glimpses of what might be in store

There probably is a degree of sarcasm with his use of “wee diddy team” but it still doesn’t look or sound good. However there was absolutely no sarcasm from him when he went straight on the radio after we’d just beaten Celtic and played them off the park and the first thing he said was “you’ve got tae wonder how long we’ll be able to keep that manager, be lucky if he’s not gone before the end of the season” or words to that effect. Nothing about the result, nothing about the performance, just doom and gloom and pouring cold water on a great night for us.
-
He’s a moron with a big mouth and a big platform to air his ramblings. And when he’s on national radio telling everyone that we are this cuddly wee diddy team and practically begging clubs to sign our best players then that’s the image people get of the club. Oh aye, and he also said on radio that Sam Nicholson definitely handled the ball when the rest of the footballing world was ridiculing that call and calling it out for the absolute nonsense that it was.
-
I would have thought you of all people would have under stood the meaning of sarcasm. I'm sure Tam does.😉

Agree totally. This is what I hate. Basically you play in one competition, you lose....tough s**t. No 2nd or 3rd chances

Cool, I think the keeper is better, the defence is better, midfield still to settle, and we need a good striker ,Thor did well when he played his three games assisting and scoring it may be him, is that why we haven't signed another one yet. As season goes on we should gel even more but our young average age may catch up with us . But we seem to have created a style we are sticking with which is entertaining watch. Another interesting season I hope.
-
Correct its nonsense, more UEFA interfering to generate cash and give the bigger teams more TV revenue etc. Hearts played 6 games in Europe, CL, EL and scraped into the conference league with 4 defeats and 2 draws and a -12 goal difference ffs, its a joke.
-
I wasn't far from the guys who invaded the pitch in Helsinki, and as soon as the penalty was awarded they were all getting ready to run onto the park if it went in. It wasn't as if it was spontaneous.
-
Tam Cowans a moron. He's pretty irrelevant.
-
Who did we sign Tricky from? 🤣🤣
-
I think AJ will want to change a number of players out to help manage load. Just not sure if we can. SOD KNIGHT MOORMAN AND WILLIAMS MID IS TRICKY WHYTE HODGE AND LOWRY VOGT SEB AND COOK think he will look to make early changes bringing on sparrow Thor etc and try and manage the returning from injury players. This in particular is going to make this a hard game. Hoping for a win but a European hangover needs managed would take a draw.

STV - my post was intended to be positive - hence leading with ‘early signs are positive ‘ im optimistic - apologies that it didn’t read that way. I dont believe we yet are as strong as last season due to huge turnover , injuries and the sheer volume of games . It was never intended to say I’m not impressed , quite the opposite . Alfred has been dealt tough cards and to date been very positive.
