  1. Past hour
  2. That would seem a bit strange given that the directors knew that JBA was leaving months ago and we're now about 3 weeks past his actual departure. Nothing is impossible though.
  3. Might be the boring option for some but I think he has earned the opportunity. Knows the players, has their respect and clearly bought in to the style of play. Will also be aware of the players we were looking at in the knowledge we were aware 3 or more first teamers would be moving on. For me, any appointment attaches risk but appointing MR would lessen that risk. Assuming he is comfortable as top man that is. Whatever happens I hope he is with us next season.
  4. I’ve a suspicion Max Rogers is going to get the gig.
  5. Today
  6. Yes, I think we all knew this would happen but I fear the conduct of the aggressive and unruly Celtic fans in particular will only get worse, further emboldened by the feeling they can act with virtual impunity. Also, they now have the sainted Martin confirmed in charge, who clearly does not want to upset the apple-cart by calling them out for their thuggish behaviour. What's it going to take for the "authorities" to grow a pair? Do we have to have a death or two from this kind of disorder before anything is done? I still feel absolutely disgusted about the events at FP last month in particular. Askou looked livid after the game and I'm sure he was glad to be getting out of Scotland given the level of corruption and intimidation he had witnessed during the season.
  7. It will be a cold day in Hell before that ever happens Dave, the Government, police , football authorities and the ugly sisters have done feck all since football started over 150 years ago, and that approach wont change.
  8. I remember we beat AGF Aarhus 1-0 in a pre-season friendly before the 1974/75 season. It was part of a 5-game pre-season tour in Germany and Denmark. We also beat St. Pauli, Hamburg and Aalborg.
  9. Was that not a draw? both sides claimed a win
  10. Yesterday
  11. A totally unsatisfactory, but unsurprising turn of events. I agree about the pyros, but am baffled as to how the 5 or more fans will be chosen for corrective training. Are they 5 unnamed culprits, or 5 of us chosen totally at random? The pitch invasions!! A scattergun approach to deflect blame away from Celtic. We are being fined the same amount per game as they are despite the massive disparity in budgets. If thats the case, why are Accies only being fined £1K per game. There's little attempt, to consider the number of pitch incursions (in Celtic's case 3 to our 1), the numbers of fans involved or their nature i.e. the invasion after the Hearts game. In terms of suspended punishments, I'd like to know how they define "significant pitch incursions". Also, no mention of Rangers fans invading the pitch at Ibrox. Totally unsatisfactory punishments which will only expose the authorities to all manner of allegations, not in the media of course. Are they now going to impose strict liability on sectarian activities at the games involving the gruesome twosome?
  12. I fee dirty for defending The Record, but I think that was the headline for the Lanarkshire sport section.
  13. In other news.....opening game of world cup .South africa no.13 surname is sithole.....thank feck Sean Connery not commentating! 🤣
  14. Very poor from the Daily Record once again with that headline , You wouldn't expect it to be reported any differently which is the sad thing
  15. For the pyros etc can understand why we’d be punished . the pitch invasion post end of game at FP is one thing . The final day of season was utterly disgraceful , as has been Celtics reaction and now the governing body . You get the sense that the tide could turn against Celtic as it’s no longer just Scottish football watching - the broader broadcasters I think will pick up on this .
  16. And the Daily Record headline on this subject is “Motherwell and Hamilton Accies fined and reprimanded by SPFL amid pyro use and pitch invasions” and that is the main story of the article with the fact that Celtic were also involved and hit with similar sounding like a mere side story. We all saw what happened but that is how it is reported. Anyone who seriously doubts the influence and clout that Celtic have over football, the media and more in this country these days needs to wake up.
  17. Of course but that would indicate that they recognise Celtic and their fans as being more culpable than anyone else for this type of behaviour. But that is never going to happen in 2026 where Scottish football is run by Celtic, for Celtic.
  18. Any fines should be a proportionate percentage to the turn over of each club. £2500 is absolutely nothing to them where as it has more impact on a club of our size.
  19. So suspended punishment of a reduction of 100 tickets for Celtic which lasts until 30th June 2027 and a £2500 fine. And the same fine for us with a suspended closure of Block E for the same timescale. And five of our fans and five Celtic fans referred to the SPFL Trusts pyrotechnics awareness course. So there you have it, a slap on the wrist for Celtic and us lumped in with them to dilute the blame. That’s not to say that ‘Block E’ are blameless and indeed they gave the authorities the open goal they needed to drag us into what happened, but this non punishment for the true culprits is as predictable as it is laughable.
  20. I was way off with my dates re Aarhus. We played them in friendlies in 1974 and 1975, according to 'Well Again. We won 1-0 and 3-0.
  21. Was also a song by Crosby Stills Nash and Young.........AAR....HUS. is a very very very fine house. TAXIIIIIII
  22. We're not that old. Hope we don't ship too many goals.
  23. IIRC the Ancell babes played Aarhus in a floodlight friendly around the time we were whacking Flamengo and Bahia but i can't remember the score.
  24. I've got a sinking feeling about all this.
