Spittal captain against Hibs tonight
-
I'm usually not a fan of the break but it comes at the perfect time for us.
-
Whyte's a great prospect, but I trust the coaching staff if they think he'll progress more quickly if he goes out on loan.
-
I know it has been heavily rumoured recently but I'm a bit disappointed with the news on Olly White. Thought he has done well in his appearances so far and offered a more physical option in midfield I'm not sure we have a lot of. Hopefully the step up to Championship from League One will improve him and benefit us when he comes back to us.

Alfred is basically a slightly more cuddly, less scarey Jens (with hair). We are currently 3 points better off than we were this time last season. Even if we lose to Rangers we will still be 2 points better off after 5 games. All that with having totally replaced nearly the entire team. After the Rangers game we have a 10 day break. We then play Aberdeen and Dundee and go into the international break. I suspect that come October we will be starting to see the real Alfred Johansson Motherwell side. Im pretty excited about the prospect.

Olly must have a contract until at least May 2027 otherwise he would be someone elses player. Given he is going out on loan, I would hope it was a 2 year extension so we are protected. I can understand why he would be disappointed. With the game time.he got in the early games he would be thinking there was a pathway to the first team. Especially when Oscar got injured. Unfortunately the signing of Dylan Levitt has blocked that path. He is still a young man. Best thing he can do is knuckle down, give everything for Ayr and gain as much experience as he can until May. That way he should be able to demand a start next season.
-
The official website said Whyte extended his contract in their end of season squad update. Doesn't say for how long.
- Today
-
If his contract expired May 26, and hes still at the club for us to loan out he must have signed an extension. Surely the player needs to agree to the loan, so he must have said yes, if hes really not happy about it then he needs to move on as he is not going to get regular game time at Fir park.
-
He has not signed an extension...from what I can gather I dont think hes overly pleased at being loaned out
-
Yup that's wrong. If it was correct he wouldn't be at the club. He signed a new deal
-
It's still early days but the more I listen to him and see what we are building I think we have found a real gem ( not legend status yet). Players definitely look on board and great spirit but just the wee things you notice from him ( ie. Consoling vogt last night) Loving the AJ revolution and hope this could be a special season COYW
-
Club website states his contract expires May 2026. Hope he's signed an extension otherwise he's gone.
-
I thought he would really push for starting slot but midfield looking strong. Naysmith knows him so hopefully a full season really benefits him and us in long run
-
Aye that's not on. These lads are wearing the jersey and trying their best. Really are some right wallopers out there

-
Olly Whyte joins Ayr on loan.
-
I was disgusted with the season ticket holders behind me when they were calling him Willy Wonka. Absolutely disgraceful behaviour from so called supporters.
-
Really good window for us strong squad to push on now & have a decent season
-
So we are done and dusted now? Let’s get on with it now.
-
Even more embarrassing for the Dundee Utd team clapping the 12 or so fans that were still left in the stand hurling abuse at them😁
-
Exactly my thoughts at the time. Although they're not my favourite team, St Mirren under McLeish seem to be trying to reverse the Robinson hoofball tactics too.
-
That's pretty much it.
-
Surprised he said that given how much he drooled over our sexy football last season.
-
That is a remarkable statistic which shows the importance of possession instead of coughing up the ball after a few passes/punts forward. I was disappointed to hear Peter Martin say on PLZ's football show that no-one in Scotland plays the way the rest of the continent do, when it was pretty obvious that's how JBA had got us playing from just about day one of last season.

Yes, " penalty to Rangers"
