  1. Past hour
  2. Give me a cup win over Europe any time. 1991 was great but 34 years ago. We need new memories. Also winning Scottish Cup can get you European group stage football if co efficient stays ok
  3. Sorry Kmcalpin but I have to disagree with you on that point. Our first team squad of 32 players is way too big and needs to be culled. We’ve got 10 players on loan so once they return to their parent clubs the squad size reduces to 22. Then I would offer up the following 9 players as dead wood that needs to be gotten rid of: O’Donnell, Seddon, Blaney, Zadrovski, Halliday, Callachan, Paton, Nicholson and Robinson so that reduces the squad size down to 13 which is obviously too small. I believe our first team squad size should be 18 and that we add quality and not quantity to get there.

  5. As much as it's great to see Celtic and that arrogant shark faced wank of a manager taken down a peg I take no satisfaction in a non Old Firm side winning silverware while our wait goes on. If we can't have our day at Hampden lifting the trophy then I don't want anyone else to have theirs. Plus Aberdeen and their supporters are obnoxious insufferable arseholes.
  6. Burrows helps win Scottish Cup.
  7. ‘Europe’ for us is great on paper but in reality it is us playing two glorified friendlies which either end in anti-climax or utter humiliation. Give me the league cup group stages over that any day of the week. Winning a trophy, Scottish Cup or the League Cup would be the ultimate achievement for us. We’re never going to win the League title obviously but the Cups give you that outside chance of tangible success and that for me would piss all over any ‘European tour’ and all that crap.
  8. And of course Nicky Devlin with a cup winners medal today
  9. Yesterday
  10. Max just won the Austrian Bundesliga for the second time with Sturm Graz. Kipré was a losing finalist in the French Cup for Reims v PSG.
  11. Aye, obviously if we're finishing third then we've won loads of games and this is no bad thing. But in terms of just a straight choice between Europe and a trophy, a trophy please... Naturally, I would settle for either...
  12. It's an interesting topic. A cup win would be great. It's a long season, however, and regardless of European places, finishing 3rd would likely mean a good number of wins along the way providing regular entertainment.
  13. You are 💯 spot on I would say Importance of course is being a top flight club for me After that Scottish cup first League cup second Finishing in a European position third I confess to being jealous of other teams walking round Hampden with a cup in the last 15 years or so. I will finish this by saying well done Alan Burrows and Aberdeen . Saved us from listening about the talk of another treble . A guy who I went to school with
  14. I have not seen us play in Europe. Moved over here in 1989. Closest I got was the year Sligo Rovers put us out. I was home for the dates of the next round 😡 I did come back for Scottish cup finals in 1991, 2011 and 2018 but didnt come back for either of the league cup finals. Of course, I’d be delighted to see us win a league cup but I’m definitely more disappointed when we get knocked out of Scottish cup than league cup.
  15. I feel differently these days. Most of us have seen Motherwell in Europe. The number of us to have seen us win a trophy is getting smaller all the time. If you offered me third place next season or a league cup win, it's the claret and amber ribbons every time. But that's maybe just me...
  16. Absolutely bricked it against big Cedric, he then cheated and got him sent off. Can’t stand him, poor mans Peter Grant!!
  17. I thought he masqueraded as a hard man , little prick.
  18. Better hope he doesn't cross paths with Anthony Stokes any time soon.
  19. Ironically against the same team as today , and on penalties, Liverpool also won the league that year and Leeds got promoted Hopefully an omen
  20. Don’t really care too much about league cup. Would be nice to win it, but for me, it lost a lot once they took away the European place.
  21. Dons last won Scottish cup in 90.......we won following year. Hope that's an omen
  22. Healy is hard to judge, when Linfield are far and away the biggest club in that league. He's also coming up on 10 years there, so there's a decent chance that his next job might be a tricky one to adjust to. I imagine the same rumored guys from last time that are still unemployed will be brought up again, like Evatt, VdG, Ketsbaia, and the gobshite club of fotheringham, courts, and the like. At least last time we had the rumored german link which led to the papers phoning some random German i posted on P&B.
  23. The actual transfer window doesn't "slam shut" until 1st September, so from that perspective there is plenty of time. Most of the players are off for a fortnight in Ibiza at this point, so the ideal timing would be to have a new man in place early June. There is a risk the league cup group stages might be a complete write-off as new players and new ideas are put into place, but more important that we get things right going into the new league campaign.
  24. For me that's a big worry as whoever comes in will have a very short window with no idea of what the team needs re new players and probably be listening to Clarkson, Foster or Obika for advice which gives me the fear.
  25. David Healy has been mentioned for a number of Scottish vacancies and still is, but he continually distances himself from them. As others have said I suspect that our next manager will be someone left field or unexpected and not picked from a bookies' list.
  26. Can hopefully rule scott brown out as he is also working as an elvis tribute act.
