The ugly sisters have been the graveyard for developing home grown Scottish players over the years, how many have been labelled as the next big player with a great future in the game. 2 or 3 years down the line their contracts are up and they dissappear of the face of the Earth having g achieved nothing other than a healthy bank balance for a couple of years.
-
I don't think you'll be any closer this time.
- Today
-
Exactly, it wouldn’t simply been a case of Wimmer completely out of the blue on the 23rd May saying “right folks that’s me off it was nice knowing you”. That had clearly been in motion for a period of time before that otherwise he wouldn’t have walked straight into another job. I sincerely hope you are right.
-
Maybe staying cos he has an....ahem.....Big Love for the club 🤪🤪
-
I didn't think that Devine was all that good when he was with us but if he settles into playing regularly, on a 2-3 year contract and for a good coach then maybe....
-
Would any of the released rangers youth do us a turn? Devine was being bigged up by the media a wee while ago not that familiar with the other youth released.
-
Maybe he is an albatross round our neck
-
We have the first pre season game in just over 3 weeks. Does still having Ahmet there impede the search for a new manager or are we holding him to his contract on the basis that we might be able to get a fee for him to join Wimmer? I thought he had a good relationship with the players and would help any transition but money talks.
-
I am enjoying the Fleetwood Mac jokes. See if you are no happy You can go your own way 🤪🤣
-
No chance it will be foster, relax
-
I'm similar in that I'd rather it was someone unknown to us. However, I don't think there's any logic in that other than if it's someone I know, I probably gave him dogs abuse as an opposition manager. I don't like Robbie Neilson, but that's because he was the hearts manager, I have no insight into whether he'd be a good manager for us, or if some unknown Austrian is better. It's the same with scottish players, we get more excited by a random North Macedonian over some dude from Morton. Even if the latter is the better player.
-
Can’t say I’m impressed by the new rangers appointment but I don’t really know him. His CV doesn’t seem that great if the new owners are going to throw a bunch of money at them. Hoping our new manager gives us something to look forward to.
-
Carrick would be a great appointment, I heard his name doing the rounds too. We'd be a great landing spot for him to rebuild his brand.
-
After his recent sacking, let's throw Michael Carrick's hat into the ring and see if any media outlets pick it up. (That's how you do it, right? You don't have to submit an application, you just have to throw in a hat?)
-
To be fair, we normally do their job for them by discussing candidates on here.
-
The media must be getting desperate for a clue as to our next manager Where are Motherwell in manager hunt? And is Neilson a contender? - https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/crmkpwzypnlo Nielson, Docherty, Brown and Ketsbaia was the best they could come up with 🤦♂️
-
Don’t stop 😂😂😂😂
-
Have to agree with you there. I buy the home, away and 3rd strip for me and my son every season. It wouldn't matter to me what it looked like or what sponsor was on it.
-
Not for a minute will it be him
-
Lets stop all the Fleetwood Mac jokes and get back to new manager suggestions.......I'd rather Jack (Ross).
-
Michael Wimmer ‘officially’ resigned on 23rd May and walked straight into another job. That tends to suggest that he had already been making plans to leave long before then.
-
If the same thorough and analytical process the club used to identify Wimmer doesn’t point to Foster, Neilson, or any of the names currently being linked in the press as the right fit, then they won't be considered I'd imagine.
-
Won't happen. Calm doon!
-
It would be Kettlewell/Hammell levels of depressing with the added bolt ons of Foster coming across as a smarmy arrogant prick into the bargain. Don't get me wrong if he did get the job then I would get behind him as best I could but it would be the most depressing appointment I could ever imagine or remember us making.
-
That would be nearly, but not quite, as depressing as another season of your fun-filled posts of positivity.
