We are beating this lot. Be nice to humiliate them before the cup tie just to make sure they dont feel like they have an actual chance in the cup......
-
Clear red. Late, high studs, nowhere near the ball. In his post match JBA had no complaints, and even complimented Fadinger saying if you are going to get a red, getting one for trying to prevent an attacking move is the only acceptable kind.
-
SOD was very good tonight and Fadinger was excellent until the red card. But Stephen Welsh was outstanding. Dealt with everything that came his way and scored a cracking goal. The adulation for him at the end was lovely to see. Pretty sure he never experienced that at Parkhead!
-
Sorry mate but I thought he wasn’t that good tonight, gave up on chasing back when he lost the ball at the first goal and too many times he turned back into trouble rather than make a pass to someone in space.
-
Thought it was a good performance tonight, although our attacking players were'nt quite on point with their passing in the final third. Some of that was down to how hard Rangers were working to put pressure on them, but still felt there were a few unforced errors. Thought McLean let them away with murder from fairly early on and allowed their repeated fouling to go largely unpunished. Dont think I have ever seen a Rangers team at Fir Park boot it long quite so much, kick, foul, dive and waste time. I suppose thats a compliment if sorts. Havent seen the red card back. Thought it twas a foul and a yellow card at the time, but happy to be corrected. Overall, a good point. We bossed the team that all the pundits think are probably favourites for the title. We may not be in the race ourselves, but we should take confidence from the performance to fuel our push for the cup. One of the uglies has to go and we have proved we are good enough to beat whatever one is still standing. Bring on Aberdeen......

Two games and two assists. Good going for Thor so far. It was mentioned somewhere when we signed him that this was a big part of his game. Long may it continue.
-
Thought rangers adopted the st mirren game plan well. JBA right to call the ref out. did think we looked a bit rusty, but soon grew into the game. A good point for us though having gone down to 10 men with hibs losing . Team selection now critical v Aberdeen. Who has the energy. overall though massive credit to the team manager and staff. Oh and Boyd can do one!
-
Yeah just watched it again, he caught him and I can see why it might have been a red. I didnt see the incident with souttar and the handball properly at the game but that’s a penalty? I can see why the players were going mental.
-
I went with McGinn. Actually although he didn't have loads of saves to make, Ward had an excellent game in terms of positioning stopping chances even occurring. At the front end, Slattery was the pick of the bunch...
-
The most pleasing aspect of the entire evening was seeing Nicholson has ditched the terrible 'tache.

Awesome -- I wasn't able to watch the match as I was working, getting alerts thought we were gone - down to ten men - superb goal! "Stand up and sing for Motherwell!"

School boy error , corrected now 😉👍
-
Was surprised to see some comments on match thread suggesting Slattery should be substituted. I thought he was immense in both and attacking and winning the ball back. Sure not everything he tried came off but to continue to try seems to be the philosophy of the manager which Slats and the other players are thriving on.
-
Big shout out to Slattery who was outstanding tonight.
-
That ayr game i think was my 2nd ever well league game ( after Partick, plus I saw us beat ajax 4-2 in may 1977 for first ever game) Great stats pal but yer calendar is faulty, its 2026 🤣🤣
-
If we have to win one, I choose the other one. I'd prefer both, so let's get things rolling with a victory here.
-
Brilliant tonight. Maybe in hindsight he should have started Preistman ahead of Watt, but those the breaks. To see them time wasting early in the second half tells you all you need to know.
-
That goal
-
Not sure whether to be happy or not tonight. We could, and arguably should, have taken three points, but to get the late equaliser with ten men almost feels like a win. We were not at our best today but still gave them an absolute lesson in football. As for McLean! I have watched the BBC highlights and have no complaint about the red card, but how the f*** did Soutar get away with that challenge on Just, and why the f*** did the BBC completely ignore it in the highlights.

49 years I've followed Motherwell home and away and this is without doubt the best Motherwell team I've ever seen. We may win nothing but my god to have reached 11/02/2026 and Only lost 3 games Only one team outwith the OF has beat us (luckily) Conceded less than a goal a game Played the OF 3 times at Motherwell and never lost Consistently passing average over 82% No one has dominated us we have had more possession in every game even the cup semi final. No one has deserved to beat us this season. It is actually a travesty that we are unlikely to win a trophy when utter shite like St Mirren have. However you don't need to be good to win a cup as Aberdeen and St Mirren prove. We should just saviour this season as we are unlikely to see it's likes again. What a performance tonight , team deserve every plaudit going. This is officially MY best ever footballing Motherwell team since my first game, a 5-1 win against Ayr Utd, in September 1977. Just my opinion I'm sure others have their own recollections. **Also credit to the ground staff you can clearly see the pitch starting to recover.

Went for Welsh but O'Donnell close. Both solid defensively but Welsh's goal and GIRFUY celebration swung it.
-
Outstanding! Yea we didnt win but full credit to the lads we put everything into that game and a point was the least we deserved. Thought butland was their best player. We were the better team by any metric. Letting them sing for 85 minutes then shutting them right up was a nice touch! And i reckon Priestman is going to be some player next season!
