I doubt TikTok or Twitter woild be his medium of choice. Could definitely see him having a substack with links to his movie length YouTube videos though.

I think a lot of them enjoyed a smoke or two. I always remember John Martis walking up to fir park smoking. Put it out at the corner of Edward at and Fir Park St.

Let’s all hope that Kettlewell doesn’t figure out how to use social media.

Wikipedia states he scored 40 consecutive penalties for MFC, which, if true, is quite an achievement and surely puts him in a class of his own. Pity there can be few alive today who saw him play. An old boy on the EK supporters' bus said he travelled up to Aberdeen train with the team for a league match and Johnny certainly liked a cigarette.......

Hoping our new manager is one of them! 😍😍😍

Absolutely. In fact I'd say elite players who are good coaches are very much the exception. Playing and teaching are two very different skill sets.
-
Quite a few sports the best coaches have never been elite players. No idea if efford is good at coaching or not but fair play to him making a go of it
-
After leaving us he has done Effall !

Has anyone seen Joe Efford's coaching videos on Tiktok? If not, look him up. He doesn't half like the sound of his own voice. You'd think he was a footballer in a past life. 😁

Both of you should be lambasted for those efforts.

Its years since I heard that nickname. My dad also called him that.

Willie Pettigrew was good at them. I particularly recall the one he scored in 1977 against Fergie’s St Mirren in the Cup at FP when we won 2-1. His celebration was just as good.

Was right in line with the pen spot that night and I can still hear the thud of the ball on the post. 😟
-
Ditto. My dad always said the ‘Daddler’ was the best taker of a penalty kick of that era.
-
He took and scored with one of the best penalties I've ever seen, at the Home of Good Football. Lashed it into the top corner with venom - no keeper would have saved it. Not my favourite player though.
