  1. Past hour
  2. I think it would be a lazy appointment which would be pinning hopes on him being able to continue what JBA has done, but without Jens. Perhaps I just have PTSD over Malpas replacing Butcher but the assistant being promoted to the main job just gives me the fear. As I said, the job is a lot more attractive now than it was a year ago. We have had a lot of plaudits as a team and as a club and have Europe next season (on paper at least). So we advertise it and see who is interested.
  3. If you offered me a million quid and a house in the south of France, I'd support St Mirren for a season.
  4. Even Elliott Watt said he'd been coached to play that way most of his career.
  5. They will be raging he has not gone to Celtic.
  6. Agreed. It'll be really interesting to see how he does at a club where (I assume) they already know how to play football.
  7. That amount was quoted a couple of days ago. Before the Sun ran with it. I guess as with the players any employee has a price. If the £1m is accurate we have done just fine.
  8. I'm not even sure if he is,, really. He just plays fitba' the way a lot of European teams play fitba', and that Scottish teams very much don't. Which hopefully bodes well for finding his replacement.
  9. I don't want any new manager who speaks English as their first language. (I know - Cue the Yogi jokes, so don't waste your breath)
  10. I'm not suggesting Rogers should get the job, but is there any specific reason why you think he shouldn't?
  11. With the way the season went it its no suprise Jens is offski. Is it now time for Pep to show he aint just a cheque book manager and show he can coach at our level?
  12. I wonder if there is a French Ian McCall predicting that Toulouise are now favourites to be pumped out the French First Division next season? Gutted tonight.
  13. In fact, I see from the club statement, they have been doing exactly this: It’s no secret that we have got a strategy in place that we will continue to build upon our model, using the same principles, as we enter this new campaign. Managers leaving a club can be a hard pill to swallow, and whilst we appreciate Jens for what he has done here in the last 11 months, we have been continually working on contingencies and learnings to ensure we do not rip up and start again but continue to build and grow.
  14. Most definitely not. But certainly our most exciting manager since Mark McGhee first time around and a much more likeable character than McGhee and Alexander who also got us European qualification. And a much better mindset and attitude than longer serving managers who also had success for us like Stuart McCall. He had us going into games against Celtic and Rangers believing we could beat them and lo and behold we record wins against both for the first time in over twenty years. Compare that to the meek, subservient pish we got against those sides under McCall’s management where you had key players like Stephen Craigan admitting that they were ‘scared’ to go to Ibrox etc. JBA changed our play and our mindset and that was brilliant to see.
  15. The £1m is wages I think. I think the report is lost in translation. Yesterday the reports were saying Toulouse would pay £1mto land him, but that is surely salary. Otherwise we have won a watch.
  16. Disappointed he's gone, but as I said previously, glad it's now and not early August. I have no doubt the Board has a succession plan in place and will be getting things rolling for Askou Phase Tou.
  17. Being reported in the Sun as a million pounds but we will take that with a pinch of salt
  18. So what you are basically saying is he isn't a legend? 🤣🤣🤣
  19. I wonder how much compensation we have received. From what I hear we didn't just roll over.
  20. I'll have penne arribiatta...a cup o tea and a slice of cake 🤪🤪
  21. JBA certainly more than surpassed expectations when he came in and when we were on it under him we were brilliant to watch. I wouldn’t go so far as to say he was elite level based on his time at us but he certainly had us playing some great stuff even though we fell away toward the end of the season. His record in the Cups was a black mark given the way we exited both and the team selection for the Aberdeen tie and we dropped a lot of points from winning positions especially early in the season. Overall he was a success for us. It could and perhaps even should have been better but he was certainly an excellent manager for us and he goes now with the best of wishes.
  22. A big loss, not just to Motherwell, but to Scottish football which has just lost a young, progressive, modern manager that would no doubt have taken Motherwell on an upward trajectory that would have had a beneficial knock on for the Scottish game in general. Let's hope we get another one that is just as switched on. Come on ye Well! Thanks and best wishes to Jens.
  23. Today
  24. Its been a great season thanks to JBA. He's transformed us on the pitch and left us in a better condition than when he joined. Thats the bottom line. Given his record when joined, I and a few others never expected him to stay long and he hasn't. I don't expect him to, stay long at Toulouse either, which is a far bigger club. I just wish he hadn't made a few comments about his long term plans for our club. A red herring? Even though he's done a great job, I'm relaxed about him moving on. Managers come and managers go but the club moves on. To younger fans, he'll simply be a name. I'm very encouraged by Kyrk MacMillan's statement that the model continues and that the directors have been preparing for this day. Whats more, the recruitment process ins now well underway. Backroom staff remain in place. COYW!
  25. I thought that was his granny.
  26. The same Cowan who was entertaining worzel gummidge in da claudios before sellik game
  27. With glee and relief, no doubt.
