  1. Past hour
  2. My only real memory of the game was that Doogie got 2 of the softest yellows ever to get sent off before half time and feeling that the ref had been sent in to do a job after we gave them such a scare in the first game. Having watched them back, both would have been yellows these days and the second would have been debated as a straight red! How the game has changed! Still a very decent first half showing against a side full of stars. Unsurprising given our line up though. Pretty much every player would walk into our current team (with the exception of maybe Stevie Woods). Woods McCart Philliben Martin Shannon McKinnon Davies Dolan Lambert Coyne Arnott
  3. From memory i think UEFA reduced it from a 6 match ban to 3 matches, but as he never played in Europe again it was irrelevant anyway.
  4. A true Motherwell legend Dave, great news he is doing OK.
  5. Today
  6. A quote that Mrs grizzly says to me almost every day 🤪🤪
  7. No. Enquire as part of the negotiation if there would be a way of doing it they would be happy with like we did with Paddy Power (albeit I understand their particular type of marketing lent itself to something like that). Im not suggesting for a minute that it should be a red line for the club. But as a fan owned club, we should at least look to see if there is a way to make it work given a lot of fans would like the option. Maybe the club do ask the question and just dont broadcast it if sponsors say no?
  8. Pretty sure that was overturned on appeal and was the first time UEFA had ever done it.
  9. Yesterday
  10. and scare off every potential shirt sponsor?
  11. Surely the sponsor is paying for their name in the kit worn by the first team to reach customers who are watching the team in the stadium or on tv? I get that also having everyone of us walking around with their brand on the shirt is additional exposure. But is that really a deal breaker? We could all pay extra for a shirt without a sponsor logo and that could go to the club to cover any shortfall. There has to be some way of pricing it to make it happen.
  12. I was in the East Neuk this morning to collect our seafood order when another driver in the car park called me over. It was none other than Stevie Kirk, who had been doing the same. We had a good natter. He's had a few health issues of late but is now back to fitness, I'm pleased to report. He still follows all things claret and amber.
  13. You usually don't make me laugh, but you almost did there !
  14. Too young to be a player manager...jeez he is still only 18!!
  15. That sounds like the Marketing department trying to explain the poor design choices! Hopefully not.
  16. I actually had the thought this morning that this image of Fadinger might be a bit of a hint for the new kit. That would tie in a little with what you're saying
  17. The club has made clear that it's using the same approach and framework as the one that brought us Wimmer, so unless Pressley falls within those parameters, I doubt we'll see him anywhere near the job.
  18. I've never heard the adenoidal Keevins say anything remotely favourable about MFC. He's there to buff up the Ugly Sisters and I've never been convinced his football knowledge extends much beyond their squads. Scottish football's churnalists and presstitutes generally constitute the bottom layers of football writers in the UK, with very few exceptions.
  19. I done exactly the same, I think the number of Hospital and dental appointments in the shire that day was thousands above normal levels. As you say bad refereeing and play acting taking advantage of our European naivety back then, I think Rab Shannon still has a 3 match Uefa ban to serve after his red card that day 🤣
  20. You deserved a medal not a written warning!
  21. There will be lots of managers getting sacked or resigning this time of year, so I wouldn't read anything into any of them. As for Jack Ross, according Wikipedia, he is working as a coach in Newcastle's academy.
  22. And a terrible deal if you are the employee charged with securing sponsors. Money talks sadly. Not sure many fans would opt for the sponsor shirt if they had the option to go sponsor free. I think they sell kids' tops without sponsor names but that is as far as the leeway goes. Can't have a six year old advertising gambling sites etc I guess. Or alcohol in the good old days.
  23. Some role at Newcastle scouting was the last I heard of Jack Ross...
  24. Stephen Pressley has resigned from his position at Brentford? Surely to god no!!!! whatever happened to Jack Ross, remember a few years ago he was seen as the great hope of Scottish football coaching? I always thought he seemed decent but I think he’s fell off the earth.
  25. Great deal for the fans, terrible deal if you are a shirt sponsor.
  26. The only way to achieve this is to have a kit with no sponsor at all. Who's going to sponsor a kit when their company name isn't on the front? Where's the incentive for them? As much as I agree with you that a sponsor free kit would be great and would sell well I think the loss of sponsorship would be more costly to the club.
