  1. Past hour
  2. This 'Palmer-Holding' thing from the commentator is making me irrationally angry !!
  3. Would love to see a bit more zip in our play
  4. Jens was similar last season, stuck by players when they weren't doing well, look at how he persevered with Ward at start of season. A few players really need to perform today. Bench is really strong
  5. We had better hope they win or we might see Jens back in Scotland at Hibs, stranger things have happened😱
  6. Big game for JBA at Toulouse as well. They have not won this season and are sitting second bottom of the league. Even the best managers have their challenges to face.
  7. Miller starting again for Udinese today.
  8. If they win today can I claim the credit 😀
  9. A very bold team selection. AJ is doubling down. Thats fine so long as it goes well.
  10. Our record at Dundee is incredibly spotty so todays result could literally be anything. The last six is literally L, D, W, L, W, D. If you are looking for trends, Maswanhise has scored in 2 out of the last 3 against Dundee.
  11. Today
  12. looks a bit like the gaffer sticking to his guns rather than over reacting. If we play well and win then fine. For me too many players are allowed to not turn up and still keep their place - several of them starting today.
  13. Happy seeing Said and Seb but I am surprised Sparrow has kept place and thought JKL would have been back
  14. Not particularly happy with that side …. There are a few guys there who don’t deserve to be there.
  15. I would saythe press conference was more realistic than downbeat. I think AJ is realising that the honeymoon period is over and that he is actually operating in a very combative league with managers that may not be at the forefront of footballing advancement but are streetwise and knowledgeable. Robinson got the better of him midweek but then he also got the better of JBA in the league cup semi. I think what the last week has shown is that as a fan group we are exactly the same as every other fan group in the country. It is easy to be a fan of progressive football, developing young players and playing from the back when you are winning football matches. The reaction after the result on Tuesday would suggest that we are not as committed to the project as we thought we were. The special relationship between fans and players was tested just a little midweek and I would not say that the reaction will have been reassuring to AJ. The discussion on Vogt is a perfect example Are we going to give this guy even half a chance before writing him off? We are 6 games into the season. I think for AJ, 'don't believe the hype' is apt. We are often hyped by our own media team as a cuddly wee club with a very progressive and understanding support. We are not. JBA just allowed us to act like that for a year because of his success. The only thing I can predict for today is that it will be all sunshine or all shite by the end of the day. Football fans generally work on a game by game basis.
  16. The Motherwell Social media pages are a cesspit of absolute moonhowlers. They make this place after a defeat look like a hippy commune! Kumbaya M'Lord! (Or Tommy Coyne, if you prefer!)
  17. Very similar to how I'd like to see us set up. I had JKR in RB rather than SOD but only because the manager hasn''t given SOD game time - which is bit of a red flag. We need some experience in the team but the manager seems very single focussed on younger players. In the Rangers game we were roasted down our right side, against Aberdeen Sparrow should have been subbed at half time. Both games cried out for having experience which SOD would have offered. Not saying SOD is the messiah (or a very naughty boy !) but for all the right reasons last season he was ahead of Sparrow in the pecking order. I'm hoping for several changes today but Im not convinced we'll see them.
  18. I’ve been pretty confident going into every game this season, even after the Stenny debacle, but I have to admit I’ve got the fear today. Alfred’s pre-match presser also felt like the most downbeat of his Motherwell career, which hasn’t helped lift me after the Aberdeen embarrassment. Today is huge. The performance probably matters more than the result, but we really can’t be going into the long international break on a downer.
  19. Not quite sure I get all the anti Vogt rhetoric on social media. The lad clearly has talent with pace to burn and was identified by JBA; in effect his signing. Yes, he's finding it difficult to make the step up but he needs time and coaching.
  20. Written off at St Johnstone, I meant. Let's hope the coach can improve him.
  21. Yesterday
  22. Not sure Bair was written off by many of us? St Johnstone fans thought he was shite, but he scored in his first game against Dundee and the Feed the Bair stuff never really went away. Willy has looked like a wee boy lost at times, but there are flickers of ability in most of his appearances. If he can build on Tuesdays performance and we can get someone on the end of those crosses and get some joy, it will definitely help to build his confidence. Baby steps....
  23. Yup, I genuinely feel well fans desperate for him to be a success
  24. Watt made absolutely no progress at St Johnstone either (or at Salford or Burtion A.to be honest) yet look at him now (badly missed at the moment but I think Oscar can fill the void on his return to fitness). I was relieved there were no boos for Vogt when he came on because his confidence looks fragile but his two crosses were excellent. We need players like Thor and P-H to be getting on the end of them.
  25. Yep i agree. Bair is a prime example of someone that was written off and look what happened. I think Willy is a confidence player and we are probably playing a different style he is used to. Small signs of improvement on Tuesday with 2 cracking crosses. I wont be there tomorrow but hope the fans get right behind the lads. Even at 0-0 on Tuesday it seemed a bit flat. COYW
  26. The manager must see something in Vogt, as he keeps playing him. With his back ground in developing young players I would go with him on this. Willy may just need some confidence fitness and game time to show what he's got. Remember what everyone said about Bair being useless at the start with us . I will go with what the manager thinks rather than a forum for now.
  27. Maybe a month away but a good chunk is international break. So not missing as many games as they might have.
