It wasn't a league game they were playing it's the challenge cup they made 8 changes to the team that beat Thistle on Friday. Hale seems to be away so I doubt he'll play against us as they won't want to cup tie him if another team in Scotland want him.
-
I imagine that’s their strongest team as given they’re bottom of the league, they’ll surely be prioritising league games over the Scottish Cup.
-
Hale's apparently handed in a transfer request.
-
We haven’t conceded a goal at home since October! Calm down folks!
-
Keeper aside, they seemed to have started much the same defence as they started against Thistle.
-
They seem to have fielded pretty much a reserve team. No surprise there. No Hale or Gallagher.
-
With 10 minutes to go St Johnstone are 2-0 up with 62% possession of the ball. Ross County have had zero shots on target with a front 3 of James Scott, Nicky Clark and Gary Mackay Steven. I get its a different competition and they will see Saturday as more important, but I presume St Johnstone would be the same......

He's a midfielder
- Today
-
I didn't realise they had so many of our former players
-
Not knocking the lad but that’s only his 4th of the season in league 1, three of which have been in the last month. Great to see him starting to get goals and long may it continue, he’s still only 19 so plenty of time to see him in a Motherwell shirt.
-
We beat Celtic without him, so I would agree. Hopefully not to many others missing though. I think we have proved the managers system is more important than the personnel but I still want us to put out as strong a team as possible.
-
With Balmer gone we must be looking to bring someone in no matter what. But also look to Welsh returning later in the window. I'm hoping Welsh features at Falkirk tomorrow and that rules out a loan to anybody but us later on in January. That leaves only a permanent transfer available this window to all but us and his wages might prove prohibitive to those other teams showing an interest. With a wee bit of luck this whole circus could work out quite well for us. And if we can't beat County without Welsh I would be amazed.
-
Get another centre back in and let Celtic worry about what to do with Welsh. I feel really sorry for the lad, but we cant be hanging on the line waiting for them to make a decision.
-
Olly Whyte scores again.
-
At least stama has hit the target once.
-
I think I'd start Sparrow or Said too, to pull them out wide.
-
Stama hopefully scores a couple to top off a fine week as he is going yo be a dad again in June ( congrats) Mindset under JBA totally different. He wont accept standards slipping and fact Thugovetti is back with them makes me want to thrash them even more.
-
Starting to think you all fear a Stuart Kettlewell masterclass after his epic 2-0 win against Partick!Come on ladies and gentlemen relax so easy i am looking forward to the next round draW already. The game shall be over by half time we shall be home and dry.
-
I’m really hoping we end up getting him back but we should be adding another CB anyway and If he does come back then we have even better squad depth.
-
Perhaps we will take some more “risks” up front, as in less Worried about maintaining possession, and take some shots from outside the box or earlier crosses with players in the box. Same as for any team that sets up to defend amd hit us on the break, getting an early goal or two should help force them to change tactics.
-
Team v County for me would be Ward JK Mcginn Gordon Longelo Fadinger Preistman Just Slattery Maswanhise Stamatelopoulos AP in so we have a natural ST to occupy their Cbs in the low block.
-
Its going to be all us. Crazy amounts of possession, id say over 75%. The task is to break through their rear guard
-
Oneills comments sounded as though he wasn't aware of Welsh's views until after it went through and now he's back he can see that the lad is gutted
-
Ross County have a game tonight in Perth and I suspect they'll practice a bit of squad rotation. They'll be a tough nut to crack, but are sitting bottom of the Championship for a reason.
