  2. I’m not sure what JBA’s career plan is but I think it might be more in the direction of managing in EPL or mainland Europe rather than either of old firm teams. Now would Celtic be a stepping stone to help him on that path or a diversion? I think it’s more impressive doing what he’s done with Motherwell than doing anything with either of the uglies. Another season or two doing the same or improving us would be very impressive indeed, making us the Scottish Bodo Glimt. The club may have to have faith and invest some money in order to maintain what we have going just now. Nothing crazy but perhaps more than planned. The increase in crowd sizes is something I’ve not seen in all my years of supporting Motherwell. Finishing higher up the league means more money. Advancing in Europe would be more money. All not guaranteed but very possible from what we have seen in a very short space of time. I’m willing to bet if we can keep this going for next season, the season ticket sales will be thru the roof
  3. Based on the article it at least looks like they won’t make any move till end of season amd our first task is to keep what we have during this window amd perhaps improve playing squad. we then face the same battle again when we get to the end of the season. I’m hoping that we will be featuring in Europe amd that the thought of how good can we do in Europe might be enough to keep JBA and the squad together for another season since we do have them Under contract. (Most of them I think)
  4. Presumably Mayo's straight red last week will rule him out from Saturday's clash?
  5. Today
  6. There is every chance he will be away in the summer. But the board have to at least try and keep the suitors at bay and try to tempt him to stay. It we would brilliant if he could steer us into Europe and still be here with the core of the team to have a good go at it. What more of a calling card could he sign for himself than taking a club like ours into the group stages? Given that the team is set up for playing in Europe it would be great to see. Even if he did decide to go, we would get a wee bit more compo if he is on a better contract.
  7. Thanks for that reply. Agree with iall your comments. Hopefully it's 2 years and extension offered. And if sustained success with s then much bigger clubs than old firm will be in contact.
  8. Win with a red card for Killie, they do love a red card down there
  9. Apparently there's a big ice hockey game on nearby at the same time so traffic is going to be even worse than normal so leave plenty of time if going up by car.
  10. There is nothing clear online. Best information I could find was that he had signed a 2 year deal with talks to be opened on extensions should he hit certain targets. But its all a bit woolly worded. We did have a policy of 1 year rolling contracts. No idea if that would still be the case, although from the above possibly not. Pretty sure the board will be aware of how well this is going though and an extension for the manager on improved terms would be a priority. Wether Jens would be minded to sign it or not is another matter. Depends how he views what he is building here and what his long term goals are. Ive no doubt he is incredibly ambitious, but he also has the Gothenberg experience and will understand how playing the longer game could be beneficial. If he did in fact turn down the Aberdeen job, it might be a sign that he is happy to wait for the right offer. Improving your terms while you do so would be a no brainer for him as long as he rrusts the club to do the right thing when the time comes.
  11. Any word on jba signings new contract with us yet? Or know length of contract he has? Agm is soon I think.
  12. I see its JBA's turn to be linked with the green ugly sisters, " on their Radar" apparently. https://www.footballinsider247.com/celtic-exclusive-jens-berthel-askou-ticks-a-lot-of-boxes-in-manager-hunt/
  13. Yesterday
  14. Motherwell are the best team in the league, no one absolutely no one will convince we aren't. No team has dominated us in the league and no one has deserved to beat us. However sadly too many draws have killed us for the League title. Even the semi final I don't buy this pish it was a Robinson masterclass. St Mirren were just St Mirren they had 4 efforts on goal and scored all 4 we had 4 and scored with one. Even then we dominated possession and killed ourselves more than anything St Mirren did. We gifted them a 3rd that killed us otherwise they were sweating with 15 mins to go - inc extra time It could have been quite a landmark season but for a wee rub of the green.
  15. Hearts will cave and will not win the league. (Bookmark this) celtic are awful, toxic atmosphere at the club and their players are the poorest I’ve seen since the early 90s Rangers in my view have the best chance to win it unfortunately. They seem to be better organised under Rohl. both rangers and celtic tho will drop points. we are just as good as the above and should have nothing to fear against any of them.
  16. In the mix I think is highly unlikely but I think if we won our next 4, which I also think is unrealistic, we certainly would be in the mix. Killie H Livi A Dundee A Rangers H
  17. It’s quite incredible what has happened over the past year. At this time last year we had something like 12 loan players? Right now we have none and about 5 of our players that are the target of big clubs along with potential big fees. The main big fee is for a player who wasn’t even selected in the first 11 last January. i know I may be mocked but I sincerely believe if we keep our players and win the next 3 league games (which is entirely possible) that we will be in the mix for the league. Again a year ago to think this would be laughable.
  18. How much do we receive in TV fees for this game?
  19. If we were offered £3m for any player that cost us nothing and had only been with us for 6 months I think he would be gone. Hopefully with a decent sell on clause as an addition. Especially one as raw and relatively unproven as Maswanhise. Askou was recruited on the basis he would develop players. Young and old. Is that not exactly what he is doing? So we should not be surprised or disappointed at others showing an interest. Securing players on longish term contracts and selling them on our terms is the gameplan. If an offer is not considered good value then it will be rejected. Watt still being with us and not on his way to Poland as an example if what I was told is true. As for Halliday. He said he hoped Maswanhise would not be on his way and also that he considered £3m as the minimum we should expect. Nothing wrong with that. He did not say we should accept £3m from Rangers or any other club. Personally I think setting a minimum figure did us a favour as it will frighten off clubs seeking to rob us (Celtic). SODs follow up today merely emphasised we will not give our contracted players away at a bargain price. But we will listen to offers. We have to sadly. Given our model and our on field success so far, the interest being shown in our players is confirmation of the progress we have made. It's a good thing. I trust our Board to manage any departures so as not to disrupt that progress to any great extent. I also trust our Manager to continue to identify and develop players to fill the gaps which will inevitably need to be filled. I sincerely hope the likes of Maswanhise, Watt, Just, Fadinger and others are still with us until season end at least. But I am realistic enough to realise that may not be the case. I just hope Askou is given the funding to bring in suitable replacements. He has earned that right and I am sure he will already have identified a few players just in case the inevitable happens sooner than later. Just consider the mess we were in only a year or so ago under Kettlewell. This conversation way back then was inconceivable.
  20. I just watched Stephen O’Donnell on Go radio and he was asked about Maswanhise. Clearly O’Donnell is a Much smarter cookie than Halliday. Discussing that he’s a contracted Motherwell player and if any bids do come in that the board and manager will do what is best for the club. I can’t help but think that this sounded like a pre recorded message and maybe one which has been “advised” following Andy’s word soup last night.
  21. Aye, I'm sure MON will be on the phone saying "what do you mean you reject my bid? I heard on a podcast you only wanted 3 million!"
  22. Come on boys, what the fuck does Andy Halliday know about player value? No more or less than the rest of us, no club is going to be putting any stock in what he said what so ever, calm the beans.
  23. Yip 6 of us who would have gone for a 3.00pm KO will now sit and watch on the telly.
  24. Unless the club has cleared him to discuss such topics, I’d say Halliday’s crossed a line here. His insights on Motherwell can be valuable, but commenting on a player’s value amid intense transfer speculation is probably pushing it too far.
  25. Halliday said he hoped JT was not transferred. I had no issue with how the conversation went. I hope everyone who has commented on it has at least watched the clip?
  26. Putting pricing aside, it’s a fair distance from Motherwell to Aberdeen and back, so a 7.30pm Saturday KO is utterly ridiculous for fans and will guarantee low ticket sales. The people running our game are morons.
  27. Do both clubs not need to agree the pricing? Anyway, I'm seeing £18 for over 65s, £12 for under 18s and £6 for under 12s.
  28. What a crappy time. Be lucky to get home for 2 in the morning. Certainly won’t be taking my son up there. Pricing is away to pot as well. £23 and £18 for a concession. Typical Aberdeen
