This is all at least a year old. There was a bit of a clamber a year or 2 ago to change to a 14 or 16 team set up, so the league leaked a 10 team suggestion and quickly binned the idea when everyone kicked off about it in the hope everyone would be happy sticking with the 12 team league.
-
2 hours to hold on. 🤞🕔

A 10 day gap after this till we play Aberdeen at home so we can leave it all on the field with plenty time to recover and look forward to seeing us against the sheep at Fir Park after some practise on the field with AJ.

Every accusation is a confession, as they say. I don't complain about some of your weird and wonderful contributions (or about those from a few others). It's a fan opinion forum so I'll post what I like until the moderator says otherwise, thanks. Maswanhise's form has nose-dived since about February and I'm not sure his head is really with us. If we had received a reasonable offer before the end of the window, I would have happily jumped at the money. Perhaps there is a reason why his suitors seem not to be so keen on him. I would have been more concerned had Longelo left us. The new squad looks stronger than last season to me and potentially even more exciting so I'm really looking forward to them gelling now that the manager has more coaching time in the international break. If Alfred can work his magic on Maswanhise and restore him to his old form then that will be fine by me but ultimately that's up to the player. Let's wait and see what happens now he's with us until January at least.....

How many Aussies do we have now? 4 or 5? 🧐
-
Should be part of the appeal for players to come here. They'll get an opportunity to resurrect their career and we won't stand in their way of moving back up the ladder. Lowrys on loan am i right? Perhaps hodge is a better example where we'd get a good player for a year, make a profit and he'd get a big club at the end
-
I hate the split but it’s probably a decent compromise between high pressure 10 team league and 18 team league with too many meaningless games.
-
A 10 team league would be horrendous, playing each other 4 times and added pressure of 6 or 7 teams every year fighting relegation. Imagine the pressures that would bring to bed in young players. 16 or 18 team league playing home and away fixtures is what most fans want and I think would help Scottish clubs bring through youngsters and would also help Scottish sides in Europe

I hope if we do go for league reconstruction it's to make it a 18 team league. 34 games each team home & away. 2 up 2 down and a play off for the team in 16th if you want to keep that option. Championship at 18 as well and then split into regions below that.

I am certainly not on the same level as Lennon and McCartney 🤣
-
I liked the old days when players didnt go clapping to the fans. Full time, shake hands with opposition and down the tunnel.
-
Nearly 6000 home fans for a midweek game is good going, there would have been a time fairly recently when we would have seen about 4000 there for this type of fixture even on a saturday,to put it into context there was quite a load more motherwell fans at our game last night than what there was in the entirety at rugby park and almost as many for a so called derby game at dens park.

Sorry Grizzly, But even I know Vogt doesnt rhyme with Pettigrew! 😍😍😍
-
Probably get run out of town for this suggestion but to try and get his confidence up and make him realise we are rooting for him how about song next time he comes on to OHHHH WILLY WILLY WILLY WILLY WILLY WILLY WILLY VOGT Just a suggestion
-
I would be delighted and I am sure the vast majority of non arse cheek fans would as well if the two of them left to form a two team league. Unlikely to happen , but a good thought nevertheless.
-
At first I thought lower than that but 5800 home fans on midweek game and after all the European expense is very good. I think a lot of neutrals cone to watch us mow
-
Probably getting confused cos he was on loan at Auckland last season. You had the right continent....but not necessarily the right player 🤣
-
Crowd was just over 6,400 I believe with about 600 away fans.
-
Aye but two days ago you couldnt see where our next win was coming from........
-
My fault i thought JGR was from New Zealand 🤦♂️

I sometimes we think overanalyse things such as. So and so didnt smile at full time This person only clapped 5 times to the fans Criticism is fine as long as its done in a constructive way. This season already is very encouraging and with players returning from injury the competition for places is keeping all the lads on their toes. Look at Lowry since we signed Hodge and now Levitt. Also big Thor put in a shift when he came on. Genuinely excited this season, long may the Alfred revolution continue, at this rate he will be a legend...........awwww nawww.....I've done it again! 🤪

We've averaged 59% possession over four league matches, two of which were away from home. That's pretty good.

Ah it’s the ‘Hands across the M74’ derby. Love it. I watched Rangers game against Aberdeen on Sunday and it was very much a typical McInnes type performance and win, ie. pretty dull but effective in the end. They’ve had a shaky start but you can see Del starting to put his mark on that team and Shankland is back on the goal trail which will always carry a major threat as he is a lethal striker at this level. From our point of view we need to take confidence in last night and our recent very good record at Ibrox where I always feel far more confident of winning than I do when we play them at Fir Park. That said though I don’t see us getting anything on Saturday. 2-1 home win and plenty of bubbling and dribbling about the referee on here afterwards.
-
Looking forward to this one. It feels like we have banished the curse of Ibrox, and this Rangers team dont scare anyone. If Alfred gets the team selection right and we are organised and handle them at set pieces, we can get a positive result here. Fernandez is so indisciplined positionally, Im pretty sure we can lay traps and get him to step out into areas he shouldnt and hurt them from there. We have threats all over the park and a strong bench now to change it if we need to. Id still take a draw, but Id love to get another win there and keep Id in the top 3 of the table.

Agree re Lowry. He has been absolutely top drawer for us so far. Not the same player as Slattery or Just, but he has that level of technical ability and creativity that just gets you off your seat. He also seems to have matured and is in a really good head space right now. Do we have some magic formula that we give to the waifs and strays that come here looking to resurrect careers? Hoping he has a point to prove on Saturday. Big performance incoming!
