  1. Today
  2. Bit of a mixed bag really. Turnbull was doing fine at Celtic until he got injured. He established himself at Cardiff then picked up another bad one and has struggled every since. Max Johnston won a national cup and two league titles after he left us. No idea why he chose the car crash that is Derby County after that, but was another one who was hampered by injury after he had become a regular starter. Miller has been picking up quite a few minutes and made a decent number of starts at Udinese, but the team as a whole has struggled this season. Welsh has been a standout at Swansea. I said last season I thought we had seen peak Watt and peak Just and while I'd have been delighted to keep them it was excellent business cashing in on the pair.
  3. If that little dig was aimed at me, which I can only assume it was given I’m one of the manager’s biggest critics and recently used the ‘tick tock’ wording, at least have the decency to get your facts right before trying to be a smartarse. I did post in the thread. Perhaps read it before talking shite.
  4. Certainly wasnt expecting folks to change their mind after 1 match but find it interesting that here we are, Tuesday, 3 full days after the event and two of the boards biggest proponents of sack the gaffer havent shown up in this thread to even discuss the teams performance. Tick tock and all that.......
  5. Ward hasn’t played a game yet for QPR it does highlight just how far behind Scottish clubs and national team are in the pecking order . id be quite happy for Ward , Max J , Welsh , just , Miller and Turnbull to waltz back through the FP door - shame they’re not thriving elsewhere
  6. I couldn't agree more , I have been saying for long and weary that collum is the problem. But he seems to be untouchable at the SFA. Last seasons shenanigans which enabled Celtic to win the league should have been the end of him.
  7. David Turnbull getting 20 mins again for Cardiff and Max Johnston in and out of a struggling Derby side. Maybe we do overrate their chances of reaching the top level.
  8. And toulouse lost at weekend and Just was an unused sub for Swansea. See.....overrated the lot of them! 🤣🤣
  9. Look at the guy in charge of Scottish refs and you'll find one reason. I always thought it revealing that when Collum got big European games, there were more than a proportionate share of "controversial" decisions. Another, according to my mate who was an SPFL linesman (assistant referee) is that Collum has his favourites whom he accelerates through the system too quickly. Plenty of evidence of that this and last season in refereeing performances. Collum's a man who seems to have understood the significance of cliques throughout his careers.
  10. Elliot Watt can top that : L L L L L L L L Second bottom in the league table, unsurprisingly. A January exit? Lennon Miller not included in the latest Scotland squad.
  11. Welcome! I hope you have a wonderful experience at Fir Park. As has been suggested ring the club the staff are really helpful and the players are within reason very approachable. We are a fan owned club 👍 enjoy your new football club
  12. Yesterday
  13. This was my fear for Lennon going to Udinese. Too much coming and going of managers. No stability. No real chance to develop. I hope things settle down for him and it doesnt slow him down too much. But I have my doubts.
  14. Welcome! I think the players generally arrive around 1pm for a 3pm ko. They park up the end of Fir Park St, so your best bet is to hang around outside the main entrance to the Phil O'Donnell Stand and you should meet most of them coming in there. The players are usually pretty good about stopping for autographs/selfies. If you contact the club/Well Society directly they might be able to make more specific arrangements for you.
  15. Do linesman even award pens any more? I think, at most, they might ask VAR to look. Last thing they want is to make an actual decision.
  16. The linesman was a standing only a few yards away and should have spotted it. I can only assume he was unsighted?
  17. And yet some Midden supporters still claiming Cook pushed his arm forward onto the ball from the back and it was never a penalty.
  18. Welcome. I hope you enjoy your visit. I have limited local knowledge; others will hopefully provide you with that. However, if you're coming from the east, leave the M8 at Newhouse and continue along the old A8, coming off at the next junction. Continue south along Bo'ness Road, past Holytown. Then down through the former Ravenscraig site. There's reasonable on street parking in Orbiston Street. Best to park to the north east of the ground if you can as its easiest to head back eastwards afterwards.
  19. I couldn't believe the linesman didn't see it , or chose not to see it. Absolutely horrendous officiating from from both the ref and linesman. But par for the course from our incompetent shower of officials.
  20. When any new manager comes in, any players not starting regularly should always be thinking that the new manager is an opportunity. Miller is in that situation. Can he make the best of it?
  21. There's a case to be made for prioritising Girdwood-Reich over Knight-Lebel as he's our player that we've paid money for and are looking to develop as long as Knight-Lebel isn't a marked upgrade.. What I think would help (and I know it's a squad game) is to stick with thw same back four for a few games (I know injuries haven't helped on occasion). The manager has made several references to building connections and relationships in the team, that comes with consistency of team selection. There is no point of playing O'Donnell for a couple of games then Girdwood-Reich for a couple and now maybe bringing in Knight-Lebel. And I say that as someone who was impressed by Knight-Lebel. Defensively, I think we're all hoping and thinking that the return of Priestman in front of the back four will help hugely...
  22. After last seasons glorious Motherwell run.. me and the boy who’s was 12 Wanted to see local spl game. we went to Hibs v well at Easter road.. last game season.. we live near Edinburgh.. East Lothian (we doont support any Scottish teams) but I was worrying he was picking Hibs.. 😂 anyway after seeing all the well fans and how they supported there team for the full match they out sang the whole off Easter road… we thought we would love to watch a Motherwell game again.. this time at home.. anyways…he’s been pestering me for a motherwell match again and we decided on well v Dundee just before Xmas.. anyway. Is there any help tips or things to help a first time father and son visitors to Fir park? Where to park? What time to be there to see the players going in? And where to see them coming out at the end off match? If he could get a few signatures or such that would really be cool. Is that something the well players are known for? he’s a Man Utd fan and his mum took him last year old Trafford. where all the Man Utd players just walked past the fans. . and a wolves player signed his scarf for him.. he was over the moon.. anyways looking forward to visiting..any help would be greatly appreciated.. 🙏 Thomson
  23. JKL was the one that looked most promising to me early on. However, he was like a rabbit in the headlights when we capitulated in Paisley and has barely featured since. Saturday was the best I’ve seen of JGR so far, although it’s hard to judge given how little St Mirren offered. If he copes with the Dundee Utd forward line this weekend then that will be a big sign of progress. Assuming JGR is the centre half that the club are pinning their hopes on, he could really do with an experienced head alongside him that reads the game well. Moorman might come onto a game but he’s evidently struggling to come to terms with the demands of the league.
