  2. F… two Kettlwells at the club no thanks
  3. Today
  4. I view last season as a transitional one. One in which SK settled in and began to implement his own changes, after a spell of considerable managerial upheaval. Given this context finishing 9th was acceptable. Our cup runs were another matter. This summer will be huge for SK and us. He has been given a blank canvas should he want it, but he has to make the right signings. I've no doubt we'll pick up some decent players and yes, some duds too. Should our summer acquisitions be unsuccessful, our cup runs poor again, and we fail to improve on 9th place in the league, then yes, questions will rightly be aksed.
  5. David De Gea a free agent Motherwell
  6. I think that's partly down to him telling management/the club that he was offski, even if they did get promoted?
  7. He never made an appearance at Somerset or Firhill last season, I wonder what the issue is.
  8. When it comes to discussing options, if it suggested that they can offer a credible alternative, the well society need to be fully transparent and outline how much has been generated in fundraising up until now excluding subscriptions.
  9. Nathan McGinley has been freed by Ayr United.
  10. Valid points Ropy and Weeyin. I'm very much open to both routes, but the devil will be in the detail and will emerge in good time. I'm greedy as I do want more investment in our club but I also want our long term future safeguarded. I'm still unclear as to the involvement, active or otherwise, of the Society in the external investor discussions and no doubt that will eventually emerge in the wash. It would be absurd, to the point of being incredible, if there hasn't been any at all. If the external investment route proves to be a dead end then the Society really needs to come up with a credible alternative which is based on much more than fund raising events and bucket collections, valuable as they are.
  11. This has consistently been my position too, what happens in the end? I can get on board with the recent chat about a partnership, an investor can put his money in and use us to his advantage, a marketing ploy, a commercial venture or just bragging rights to his chums (good luck there). But his project is likely to be a 5 year or at most a 10 year one, what happens then, how does he get out, is there an agreed exit, what if he has made no money? If he wants to take control he needs to invest some serious money, say £10M, but what does this mean? It means he owns a company with £10M in cash, who is in control of that cash, him? He could pay that as a dividend. I am happy for us to be exploring this concept but the outcome needs to be a strong club because we will still be here when the investor has gone, (and so will Bevis presumably).
  12. The very late free kick to score an away goal for us in Odense was my memory of him, lost a good watch in the celebrations that day.
  13. Reflections are there's not a huge amount to be excited about. At best glad we avoided relegation. With a reduced budget 9th was always a likely outcome and after a horrendous run of 17 game it became a decent outcome. I'm struggling to see any progress as a club. When I look at the squad I don't see many young Scots coming through or many young anything coming through. The positives were young Miller , Gent, Bair & Spittal. All of whom may not be here next season. We like most of Scottish football are regressing, sadly I think we're regressing quicker than many. I'm sick of signing journeyman from lower reaches of England and equally fed up listening about the lack of funds, offering the same duds new contracts. The glimmer of hope is new investment, new CEO etc may kick us up the backside and move us forward.
  14. My only real recollection of him was the free kick he scored in the dying minutes against the Midden in Paisley to win 1 0. Scenes that day.
  15. I remember that time he nearly hit one past the first man.
  16. Went for him when he was at Queens and couldn’t compete with RC, he’s off to Hibs/Hearts from what I’m told
  17. Rumours that he's Dundee bound.
  18. He's fine with the ball at his feet but does tend to blow hot and cold as any Raith fans will tell you. His first start in 7 today.
  19. I can see why we'd be interested in Dylan Easton - been tidy with the ball so far, but jeez his physique puts him in the Dougie Imrie doppleganger category. 😀
  20. If he's available then as always it's down to the player, his family, cash on offer etc but if you don't ask you don't get.
  21. Do you think he'll be wanting a move elsewhere if they stay up?
  22. Watching the playoff final, RC are crusing it, but if Simon Murray is available we should be after him, 22 goals this season now.
  23. Joe Lewis makes as much sense as the Stefan Scougall rumour did. Why would we be after a 36 year old who - unless I've missed something - hasn't played for a year and was never that good in the first place?
  24. My brother said he was rotten when he was at Aberdeen
  25. I could be wrong. But I dont think any prospective investment money will be going straight into the transfer budget. My understanding is that we need the extra investment to underwrite our financial security going forward. That might leave a little wriggle room in terms of players but I dont think we are suddenly going to start signing players previously out of our price range. We still need to spend wisely and get maximum "bang for our buck"
