  1. Yup, always loved the classic "floodlight strip" as it used to be called. Last season's white outfit was pretty nice too.
  2. A real hoop? My flabber is well and truly gasted. Let's hope we can get the players to fill the jersey.
  3. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53403363
  4. Thanks for that. After last season's kit, I fear that a similar "reworking" of the 1996 Jester's Outfit for '23-24 would just about finish me off.
  5. Does anyone have any idea when the new kit will be out?
  6. Personally, I think Furlong will go a long way.
  7. For me the strangest statistic of the season, which was a binfire for us for several months, (according to the BBC Sport page, admitttedly) is that only Celtic and Rangers conceded fewer goals than wot we pure done. Mind you, thank God for Butcher and Casey: Bevis was so far off it today I felt sorry for him (In between swearing at him). He's not good enough even as a back-up at this level. Same for Mandron: Obika did more in ten minutes than he had managed in the game. He has no idea when/where to run and has a thruppeny-bit heid (for older fans only, obvs.). Big job for SK to rebuild the squad but I feel he has the skills for the job. HIS stats are quite amazing. How much are we prepared to accept for KVV?
  8. Yes, he's a cocky bugger. I just wish more Scottish players were as gallus (with some talent to back it up, admittedly). The Dutch don't give a flying fruit bat for anyone. As we say in Hamilton: mair pooer tae yer elbuck (yer actual Dutch).
  9. Yes, forgot about that. Casey's looks quite bad (it was a brave challenge) and Furlong seemed in some pain also: fingers crossed for them but I'm a bit concerned that's their season over. And as you said up thread, players shouldn't be allowed to crowd the ref when he's looking at the VAR screen in an attempt to influence him. Even King Kevin was at it 😈.
  10. I felt the 12+ minutes added because of the VAR deliberations really frustrating and affected what little fluency was in the game but in the end the referee did the right thing, although it seemed for quite long spells in the game that he wasn't giving us any fouls. Surprised the up- ending of Goss in the box wasn't referred to VAR but you can't have everything. in general we looked jaded and I think SK has wrung just about the last drop from this group of players. It's going to be a tough and tiring week but at least we won't have any relegation nerves to trouble us.
  11. Don't be a silly sossage. We'd better stop this before Grizzly gets started.
  12. Has to be King Kevin: he's in a rich Veen of form at the moment.....
  13. Older fans will remember we had a pinstripe nod to the original striped jersey (which predated the hoop) in the mid-90s: http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Scottish_Football_League/Motherwell/Motherwell-change.htm Since we're talking of UBH, I think he compiled most of the information used in the above HFK page. Hope he is well. "Haste ye back!" indeed.
  14. Yep, to my eyes the white shorts accentuate our groovy colours: not, I suspect, a popular opinion but amber or claret shorts make either colour too predominant . And since we have no chance of our appearing in the later stages of a European tournament, no excuse not to have a proper hoop on a regular basis. Days of the wee numbers are gone but normal white ones over the hoop are perfectly good. It's not going to happen, though. If it's the jester outfit next season I'll be on the absinthe.
  15. I would keep it that way ☠️. Besides, you can't afford the air fares.
  16. Confession: I couldn't face another eye-bleeding season with Mr Alexander at the helm so I didn't renew this season, the first time in yonks (started watching 'Well in 1962/3, though not as a STH obvs. To my great surprise, on Christmas morning my wife presented me with a half-season ticket. I think she has a lover. P.S. I'm actually looking forward to next season so will renew once the private investigator gets back to me and I can attend to business.
  17. I would have to agree with that. Clubs don't want huffy types who might cause dissent or undermine the manager. KVV has actually impressed me recently in his interviews by both what he said about our club and his general super-confident attitude (typical of Dutch players).
  18. Ah-hoo, werewolves of London!
  19. Imagine being at a party between MJC and grzzlyg: pass the absinthe! Moanly jokin', dudes 🤣. Btw: did youse pure ken absinthe makes the heart grow fonder?
  20. Pretty much my thoughts too, especially the final paragraph. I know decent fans on both sides, as well as some absolute roasters, like those Rangers fans who subjected Tommy Coyne to the vilest abuse after his wife's suicide, which was simply appalling, like their behaviour here: The reaction to our going ahead was an extended riot which went totally unpunished by the SFA, of course. I could append a list of incidents in matches and with their fans which were unpleasant for me but I don't dwell on them too much, although THAT cup semi-final in the mid-seventies will always rankle. I went to a non-denominational primary school with just me, a Clyde and a Third Lanark supporter for company in an otherwise bluenose class, so didn't meet Celtic fans until after secondary. Apart form an unpleasant experience trapped amongst The Green Brigade while walking to FP from Airbles, I haven't had much to generate strong emotions in that direction, although I have become increasingly exasperated about complaints re masonic referees etc (to which I now normally mention penalties generated by dives by Sinclair and McGregor as counterbalance). Beyond any unfortunate personal experiences, I suspect those allergic to the union flag find Rangers fans more repugnant and those of a more ScotNat or republican strain might be more tolerant of the other side but in the end my loyalty to MFC overshadows all the above considerations. I just hope we play in a better jersey next season 🤣.
  21. Didn't know you had The Doric, weeyin 🤣.
  22. Yes, neither Stevie nor Wee Tommy would take any crapola from "Caesar". Here's a match in a similar vein: Some shocking tackles from Celtic, with Tommy Boyd to the fore.........
  23. Doesn't the article say, "Van Veen, now 31, is out of contract at the end of next season" though?
  24. I'd only give him a hard time for his haircut.
