The decision to not resign both Tait and Hartley was probably sound on a footballing sense. They both poked like they were on a downward curve in terms of performance and fitness.The nature and quality of their replacements is another matter entirely.

McGinlay may not be great (and should have conceded a pen himself) but he's playing as spare man in a back three, probably not a role he's played very often. As a left wing back, he needs work but Carroll started last season slowly so you never know. I know who I blame tonight and it's not Nathan McGinlay...

I couldn't care less what they have done in the past...tonight they were there for the taking and but for poor discipline for the 1st two goals we would have given them a real run for their money

I think they were better than us tonight but they weren't unsurpassable if we'd even had a wee bit of quality about us and we'd been professional in defending. Better Motherwell teams would have beaten that Hapoel team and at this stage you'll be lucky to get drawn against a more beatable side than the one we played tonight. I agree with you about our rating in the great European scheme of things.

Thats what annoys me most, Beer Sheva are bang average, no better than what we face in the SPL, the game had extra time and pens all over it till we gifted them the 1st goal, we had no belief from the start, never got in their faces from the off, which coupled with shambolic defending was always going to end badly.

McGinlay and Lamiie may be poor players but need to look at the two 'experienced' players tonight. That performance from Gallagher has been about his average this season and O'Donnell has been dreadful tonight. I always say that if a player doesn't have the ability, criticise the manager for picking them. If a player has ability and doesn't perform, criticise the player. Not a massive fan of Robinson but tonight is on two of our more experienced players....

By far the best thing about tonight's game has been the pitch side mike.

Only 3 to blame tonight, Gallagher and O'Donnell for not picking up and gifting the 1st goal, and long for making a stupid tackle and giving away the free kick. Up till then HBS never looked like scoring. Even at 1-0 down we were well in the game and under no real pressure until Gallagher had a meltdown inside 2 mins and it was game over. We actually played ok tonight but our lack of goal threat and defensive meltdown made an average beatable team look good, and that's what pisses me off most.

Away and dont talk shite....we have had a very favourable draw, The Israelis were there for the taking and we have absolutely shat the nest

Modest European opposition that in recent years have beaten amongst others inter milan twice,celtic olympiacos etc. We are low euro opposition if that's case. The fact tonight was really poor defending. The 1st yes I blame odonnell but we should still have had more defenders in central area. 2nd was same not enough in central are but gallagher didn't need to do that but their striker was clever and was also grabbing him. Mcginley looked slow and indecisive but hes no played much and look how much bevis has improved so you never know. I also feel if we can play with the confidence we had in some parts of tonight we will be well up league again. Chance lost tonight where in other euro games in long ago but recent times like nancy levante,panathanaikos we were well beaten and I felt we deserved to go out but tonight I didn't feel they were miles better

Individual errors and lack of composure killed us. Theres a lot of talk about players not being good enough and poor signings etc but it was mistakes from two players we would say were good enough in Gallagher and O'Donnell that really let us down. We're a mid table Scottish side, that's our level and that's the level of players we have on average. Some a bit better, some a bit worse but in average it's a 6th to 8th placed SPL side. Here's hoping for a good cup run to give us some cheer this season.

McGinlay & Lamie are laughably bad. They are as poor as defenders get at our level. Gallagher was pathetic tonight and should be stripped of the captaincy. He's been poor all season but tonight was a new low. Its frightening how naive we are. Yet again we have opponents throwing themselves all over the place and yet we still push, pull and grapple. Never looked like scoring in a million years. Our tactics are that of a poor U15 team, pass the ball across the back 3, then one of them or the keeper launches a 50 yard diagonal at a wing back who is unable to win the ball. The 1 chance we do make and a so called international cant bury a free header from 5 yards. We are so badly coached its shocking. We cant defend crosses, defenders all over the shop, midfield movement non existant. Watt & Campbell are miles above the rest of our squad.

All about taking your chances at this level. Not like Beer Sheva have been creating loads either but when they did they put them away.

Don't think you can say it's a decent performance when we've not put in a single decent ball against a fairly average team, gifted goals and ended up getting gubbed. We've been exposed as not being good enough against modest European opposition.

More than decent performance overall, especially in the heat, but badly let down by our captain and fellow international defender.

Never rated Stephen ODonnell when I saw him with Scotland, he looked well out of his depth....he still looks out his depth at Motherwell. Can he not just get a decent cross in ? Gallagher doesn’t look same player as last year...pity tonight, they weren’t great but obviously good enough.

I said it after the accies game and I'll say it again,our decision making this season has been criminal,from the penalty at ross county right through until that tonight.this isn't quite an odense what if moment but still feels like we have let a great opportunity slip through our fingers.

I don’t have a problem offering Campbell improved terms making him one of the highest earners. However I don’t agree that we should be offering silly money. No one player is bigger than a club and there are further tough times ahead.
