A few points, which I've bolded above. The finances situation is quite simple. We're not going to be spending any of the money brought in from the deals you mention until we have some sort of idea when we're going to see paying fans coming back through the gates. Right now we're like a family with cash in the bank, but who have had their breadwinners sent home from work on furlough. There's not a hope in hell you dip into those savings unless you really need to. As for the appointment itself, I can't agree with it being something I'd expect from a St Mirren or Ross County. With the exception of Jack Ross and possibly Oran Kearney, St Mirren have been appointing the likes of Jim Goodwin, Alan Stubbs, Alex Rae, and Allan McManus, while Ross County have just appointed the very epitome of a lower league lazy Scottish appointment in Yogi Hughes. Graham Alexander has two promotions under his belt, reached a promotion play-off, and a cup final. In just eight years of management. That's not a bad record at all. He also has a higher win percentage as manager over his career than both Tommy Wright and Stephen Robinson, boasting close to a 50 percent rate at Salford during his nearly two and a half years there. I honestly don't see anything for any fan to be pessimistic about. Is it a definite that it'll work out? Of course not, but that's the same for any managerial appointment. There's no sure things in this game, especially as this level. But his credentials are good, and he seems like he's up for the challenge.5 points

Tommy Wright would surely (and rightfully) be massively insulted at any short term offer, and tell us to ram it firmly up our backsides.5 points

The worst part about hiring a new manager, or making a new signing for that matter is all the 'welcome to our wee club' patter5 points

I've seen you, and a few others, comment on the club strategy a few times. I'd be curious to know what your medium to long term strategy might be? From what you post, it looks like it's exactly the same strategy the club has been employing for decades:- Owner invests in the first team - get a season or two of success - see minimal growth in crowds / income - cut the budget - return to flirting with relegation / mid table mediocrity. Look at the last 30 years of - cup finals, a cup win, multiple 2nd and 3rd place finishes, European football, the teams of 1991, 1994, 2007, 2011 - 14, 2017. Did any of that success lead to the club growing in any way? Did the crowds grow in a sustainable way or was it all temporary? The reason we're still flirting with relegation is because these strategies have no sustainability. The club doesn't grow in any way and it definitely isn't secure. I'm sure you suggested investing £1m of recent transfer fees into the first team (apologies if I'm mistaken). To me, that's just looking for more of the same. Short term gains with no vision and it risks the future of the club. I think the club current strategy is clear and is the right one but it's going to need a few years of patience. First, get debt free. Second, in the short term invest transfer income into the academy and facilities so that Motherwell become the club of choice for players with potential. If it goes to plan, we'll have that consistent conveyer belt of talent consistently bringing in money which can then put a higher calibre of player on the pitch season after season instead of this constant fight for survival. I know a balance needs to be struck, we want the club to have an identity and not just be a stepping stone but this strategy will eventually lead to the proper investment into the first team that we all want. The difference is we'll be able to do it year after year.3 points

Who else is left to play? The names above are the backbone of our squad! Thats the reason we are so shite2 points

"From what I've been told" is a bit rich from a guy who previously tried to drop snippets of info in the transfer thread and come across as 'in the know' and demanded credit for it, only to publicly out his own source as rumours on Twitter, take the huff, storm off the site swearing to never return again and then slither back on a few months later as if nothing happened. Stop pretending to be something you aren't.2 points

"Track record of success, leading clubs to promotions and cup finals" Let's hope there's no requirement for that in during his latest appointment....2 points

Really? Engage brain before speaking. Promoted to be more hands on with first team by Robinson was a raise in standards at the time - reserve football isn’t all about winning. Experience was gained in Scandinavia to get onto the ladder whilst earning mqualifications before deciding to be nearer home for family reasons. Get over yourself on responses, you’re not that important - it’s easy pickings. Stick to making up ‘exclusives’. It’s the first window you’ve not mentioned Marvin Johnson or Louis Moult returning.2 points

Campbell is the engine room of our team. Unfortunately having a great engine doesnt do you any good if the wheels are falling off and the bodywork is severely damaged.....1 point

I’d put Grimmy at right back, push O’Donnell in front of him and have Crawford on the bench.1 point

He was excellent that night in Paris and he also started the 1-0 at Hampden. A very solid Scotland performer over the years.1 point

Apparently he’s turned down 3 jobs since leaving Salford because he wanted a new challenge, so to me that shows he’s held in quite high esteem in the English lower leagues at least1 point

The interview is very interesting. Makes reference to possible divisions in the dress room but most importantly says that there is no lack of ability in the team. Talk is cheap but it certainly inspires confidence when the manager is articulate and says all the things a fan would want to hear. Plenty of reason for real optimism and I would not be surprised if we got a big response from the players on Saturday. I was really disappointed to see Robinson go but now the reset button has been pressed I am feeling excited and optimistic again. The King is dead. Long live the King!!1 point

Keith McRae the best ginger haired goalie we ever had. Mind you the competition was John Fallon and Craig Samson. Seriously though one hell of a goalkeeper/right back/centre forward.1 point

Bit unfair to be posting these kind of “Rumours” about an individual. I don’t think you, I , or anyone else would be happy if we were named like this.1 point

In all seriousness the club need to do something about constant leaks. It is a red neck that it is being reported as a done deal on Sky, BBC, Sun and Rancid before an official announcement.1 point

That bit about Mo Ross is an absolute pile of shite. He’s a well respected coach.1 point

I'm pretty sure that the keeper situation will have been discussed with all interviewees...along the lines of 'did you see that Chapman dick in goals for us on Saturday?'...'yes, he was hopeless'...'well we can loan in Liam Kelly for 6months, any objections?'...'no batter in'1 point
