  1. I usually think you lean towards pessimism but are at least grounded in reality but I don't really see where you're coming from with this. KVV is as mercurial a forward as we've had in years, Woolery and Shields both have pace to burn, Roberts is good for a spectacular goal now and then and Slattery and Goss are both very technically capable in midfield. Even the likes of Mugabi rampaging up and down the flank has been a laugh this season, and there's no reason Tierney, Shaw and Efford couldn't all be exciting players for us. You might think all of the above are inconsistent/pish- and I'd agree with you on a few- but it's far from the most workmanlike squad we've had in recent seasons. There was a while were our striking options were Main, Bowman, Sammon and Johnson, and our "flair" players were Elliot Frear and Gael Bigirimana.

  3. Seems to be a few old accounts being re-activated recently that appear to be more intent on trolling other posters than adding to any debate.

  5. Shivute? My memory of him was that he was utterly shite

  6. It was an observation , you do know what that is? you want me to say he played fuckin great. I never said he was a waste of space , I never said he wouldnt be a player for us. I made an observation on his performance tonight. Its not a difficult concept to grasp.

  7. Exactly we were fuckin pish. McGinley has his critics but he did well but was given absolutely no support ion the wide left. we should have had a natural winger in the space McGinley constantly had to operate in. Utter garbage hoof ball all night. Watching GA's teams and tactics is fuckin mind numbing. Wrong team selection. GA coming up at the end giving it the high 5s to the fans after we scrape a 1-1 draw with an utter pish St Mirren team is embarrassing.

  8. Aye whatever. I think you have read it the wrong way but I ain't getting into a debate. Let's just shake hands and raise a glass to wee Tierney. COYW

  9. Nobody has actually said that they want/expect success though have they? It’s more a venting of frustration of continued poor and toothless performances every single week that is what has driven the “patter” on this thread tonight.

  10. Haven’t been on here in years.no wonder embarrassing patter from some.if some zoomers want success every weekend go follow Celtic or rangers.

  11. We should be attacking from start not just in the last five minutes. We cant cross the ball into box either.

  13. I don't want to join the mcginley bashers, but how many times does he hit the first defender with his cross?

  14. I assume Goss has been instructed to shoot from distance. Would have been nice if he practiced some beforehand.

  15. The ball is going to need treatment from just getting battered back and forward with no one actually taking the time to pass in anything other than the direction they're facing.

  16. I see it more as a back 5. What happens if, despite this ultra defensive line up, we lose the first goal? I wouldn't like to be in Van Veen's boots tonight. If we don't pick up at least a point serious questions will be asked.

  17. Strange team selection yet again,on paper it should be fairly solid but it doesn't look like there much intent to go and win the game.if van veen isn't at the races and we don't get support up to him,it's going to make for painful viewing.

  18. 1 striker and donnelly starts. Only thing I can predict is another 'we were the better team post match interview' COYW

  19. I thought we paid a fee for him. Also the Belgian second tier is probably broadly similar level to the bottom of the SPL. He's a gamble, he might be shite, he might be great and he might be somewhere in between but at least let the boy kick a ball for us.

  20. Late late, extremely dodgy winner for us tonight please.

  21. If the American is any good he will surely come straight into the team. Hopefully Maguire is fit because our midfield was toothless after he went off on Saturday.

  22. Jeez we’re 4th in the table, the negativity is slightly over the top in my view.

  23. Absolutely, I hate pre-contracts for that very reason, especially when it’s a player who’s coming/leaving for another side in the same league. As for the remainder of the season you just have to wonder just what, if anything, we have to look forward too. There is zero football in that squad and therefore zero entertainment for the support. At best we can be described as a workmanlike side but it’s awful to watch. We won’t be anywhere near relegation which, if the sole ambition is to avoid, then we have met our target but I can confidently say here and now that we won’t be in the hunt for the European spots and we won’t be going any distance in the Cup. The best we can hope for is to manage to scrape our way to a top six finish, which I appreciate is commendable, but it’s going to be awful to watch.
