  1. That was a brilliant comeback. As soon as the rain went off there was only one team in it. It had the atmosphere of a good old fashioned cup game. Our players seemed to enjoy it and a few of theirs definitely didn't.

  3. The Aberdeen fans are taking it really badly. Videos on social media of their players walking through them in the South Stand and you can just taste the rage from them. That and Richard Gordon’s obvious hurt on Radio Scotland just makes the win all the sweeter. Get it right round the lot of them.

  8. That is supposed to be a national show, yet Gordon and Miller frequently refer to Aberdeen as ‘we’ and are blatantly biased live on air about them. Anyone who heard Gordon’s mumping and moaning after the Craig Reid game in 2014 will know what i mean. It was/is totally unprofessional. The ones who support one of the Old Firm yet play it down at least attempt to show a bit of impartiality, ie. Chick Young with Rangers and Hugh Keevins with Celtic. It’s relatively well known that Keevins is a Celtic fan and that Young supports Rangers, despite his St.Mirren gimmick. At least they treat their listeners with a bit of respect to not refer to their team as “we” live on air.

  9. Regarding this forum & Facebook - couple of people who doubted us today expressing the delight of a victory. Well done boys. The rest notable in their absence, I'm sure they will be back next time we lose. It's ok to not be an Alexander fan, and it's ok to express any doubt about any players or tactics after defeat, lastly it's ok to say well done to the boys on a quarter cup final qualification irrespective.

  10. For the first time in a while, there are plenty of contenders for motm. I was pleased to see Donnelly have a good game given the criticism he’s been receiving and O’Hara was excellent on his return - great call from Alexander to start him. Efford and Shields also impressed and there’s more to come from them. Motm though has to be KVV for spearheading a fine team performance, Aberdeen couldn’t handle him.

  11. Liam Donnelly for me. I thought this was his best performance of the season and that he bossed the midfield for most of the game which gave us a platform to play off. He totally dominated Ferguson and Brown and and he was unlucky not to be on the scoresheet just before Shields put us in front.

  13. I thought the atmosphere at the match was quite good today but it's a little disappointing that there was less than 4,000 Motherwell fans at home in a Scottish Cup tie against Aberdeen.

  14. Big well done to the team great what a bit of commitment and graft can get you . Could have scored more than two if I’m being picky some fine performances and Kelly’s last save made the day

  15. I would imagine the club will need to step in again, I love the atmosphere they create but they were a compleat embarrassment today, even more embarrassing are some of the middle aged guys in amongst them. They need one or two in there to keep them in check because most of them are just kids that probably have parents that are just as bad. Some decent role models would not go amiss.

  16. I thought we were excellent most of the game, by far the better team. We came back from the goal well and dominated. My only critisism is that the last 10mins of Aberdeen pressure was all of our own making. I understand there are times to shut up shop but we were pounding Aberdeen. Taking off the attackers and bringing everyone back gifted Aberdeen their best 10 minutes of pressure. Had they scored, we were heading into ET with no real goal threats. GA needs to learn a happy medium. Anyway, we are through, we played well and we got some goals. Lots to be positive about. Enjoy your evening. She wore.....

  17. Based on today Efford will offer more than Watt. Could be the signing we've really needed. I thought he had shades of Ojamaa about him.

  29. Right, so every time I get angry and gob off about a team selection and make a prediction of doom, I'm 100% wrong, so.... That is an awful team selection and will get us humped......

  30. It’s interesting just how low an opinion you have of Slattery. Pretty much the opposite of everyone else. Before his injury/covid I thought he was one of our most important players, Goss certainly improved game on game before this mini slump. You seem to have a better opinion on McGuire who I think is totally overrated.

  32. I agree with everything you say but the big worry for me is that since the U20 League got ditched youth development seems to have been sidelined. Who have we produced since the 'Craigan' team? Cornelius might come through, his last couple of performances have shown promise, but I don't think that's enough over the time period. Especially when the standard of the league is so poor. All those youth players came through 3 or 4 years ago. I know I'm a broken record but producing youth has to be THE central focus of a club like Motherwell, both in terms of having players in the squad worth watching and the financial benefits of selling on. If we don't we're only going to see the sort of slow decline that players like Campbell, Turnball and Scott jolted us out of for a while cos 95% of the players we bring in are going to be journey men. What happens when we need another jolt and there is no one there? I think it says a lot that we have one striker at the club and there isn't anyone that can move up from the youths and even sit on the bench.

  33. Does it though? I mean look at the recent years. Youth Development: Turnbull, Hastie, Scott and Campbell all left for millions. We now have Cornelius coming though this year - not that bad a return to be honest. Signing Policy: Again I am not sure what you expect here, are any other teams outwith Celtic and Rangers signing top class players everytime? No they are not, and any that do really well end up leaving. Fuchs at Dundee Utd is a very good example of this. Bringing in top quality talent to SPL teams is really hard. Most don't want to come and can earn more anywhere in Europe. Thats why we end up with players who blow hot and cold - but the rest of rhe SPL does too. Thats why there is about 5 points seperating 4 to 10th

  34. What you need to ask yourself is what was your realistic expectation of the clubs position before the season started? For me I was just hoping we might get top six or at least be out of trouble at the tail end of the season. I based that on thinking that Aberdeen, Hibs and Hearts would all improve and make reaching the top six harder. I think we all thought that to be honest. Now we are 5th after 26 games and yes its been a terrible run we have been on and due to the results since Xmas the league outside the top 3 has bunched up together and means you could easily drop a few places very quickly in the coming weeks. So after those 26 games we are still 5th and are still in the Scottish Cup. Its not all a disaster. For me the main worry is the style of play and that GA doesn't seem to know what his best team and formation is, this could be down to the form of players and mixing it up due to the number of games. I also feel there is a lack of fight amongst the squad right now but that also could be down confidence. I also feel we should have done our upmost to keep Watt. He galvanised the team and is in the form of his life, we were never going to have the budget to replace him so should have paid him what he wanted. That for me is the biggest mistake the club have made this season. I am not sure what these 'problems run way deeper than the first team manager' are? I mean we have posted record finacial results, sold more season tickets than ever in years and the club are doing loads to improve the matchday experience. Not really sure what people expect on here to be honest.
