  1. Every challenge for the ball all over the park gives the referee a decision to make, foul or not. Do we not challenge for the ball any more because it might be a foul? The stupidity of that phrase is astounding.

  2. I thought the players put in an excellent display today. It is very harsh to criticise Mugabi. It is a split second decision, fired up with adrenalin in the first moments of the game. No malice, no intent to injure. It was fractions away from being a great tackle that could have set the tone of the game in a very different manner. He got it wrong ultimately and paid a very heavy price. The talk about sacking the manager is absolutely crazy. The defeatist attitude is staggering at times. All the talk is about us finishing 10th and yet we could equally finish 4th. I saw nothing in Hibs today to suggest thatthey are any better than us. Hopefully the pain of today galvinises the team to produce a strong end to the season.

  3. Am I alone in thinking this was an outcome of the manager's making? Both Mugabi and McGinley haven't played for weeks and yet both start. Now poor as O'Donnell has been this season, he is a more natural right back than Bevis ever will be. We set up with four central defenders and someone who couldn't defend at a Primary 5 kick about. See a back 5, Donnelly and Cornelius having to cover the whole middle of the park and 3 up front? Doomed from the start. To blame Collum is the easy answer. We all know he's an absolute imposter of a ref but I think we all know, the answer lies closer to home. We are a team going nowhere with GA at the helm.

  4. How about none of us have to pay £30 for a ticket to see us pumped by Celtic at Hampden.

  5. Yeah we might end up with a Tommy Wright but also might end up with a Malky MacKay. you seriously want another transfer window to unearth another Joe Efford or Jordan Roberts or to get a McGinley on another 3 year deal. Or is it to bring a shaw in on loan or sign a Slatterly to leave them out in the cold due to his sheet arrogance. We’ve a bigger budget than the previous 10 years and a bigger squad yet our standard of football is utter shite , there’s no youth coming through the ranks and we couldn’t buy a win but yeah we could have Tommy Wright bollocks is just a smoke screen for the utter shite that’s being put in front of us. The manger is giving the team little chance of excelling , being entertaining or winning yet your happy to give him another transfer window. Madness - going out the cup and he keeps 4 at the back - he was asking Aldo the kitman what to do halfway through the second half he’s that clueless.

  6. I'm no GA fan, but having won 5 in 30, there's no way St. Johnstone are picking up 4 wins from 8 games left, with us not picking up a single point.

  7. Picture the scenario. Cup quarter final at the tattiedrome 1 minute gone and Tavernier sets off on a run. Taylor flies into the tackle exactly like Mugabi's. Does Colum give a red card? Absolutely no chance. Gave it today because of the antics of the Hibs players all running over. Worst of all was Porteous of all people running about waving his arms and screaming like a banshee. If you watch it on the box there is no malice or over done force. He plays the ball first and his foot bounces off the ball onto Doig's leg. A yellow perhaps but no way its a red.

  8. If you can’t defend and you can’t score goals then you will lose more than you will win. That is why we haven’t won a league match in 2022 and are out of the Scottish Cup. Yes, having a player red carded inside the first sixty seconds hampered us, but that doesn’t excuse our defending for both goals, our inability to create/score chances and our managers refusal to change things when it was badly needed. Again! On a positive note today Cornelius was superb and Donnelly actually had one of his better games for us in a long while.

  9. Na, we’ve done it to ourselves, it’s too easy to just blame Callum. Rash challenge that gave him a decision to make then terrible defending.

  10. It was a classic case of the ball jut getting away from him and he tried to recover. But victim blaming just ignores the fact it was a terrible decision from Collum who would never have shown a red if this had been a OF game.

  11. Alexander out. I’m serious. That team is a shocker. As it is every fucking week. Absolutely sick of it.

  12. Don't talk shite never a feckin red card watch the highlights especially the slow motion replay mugabi makes contact with the ball, that wee wank colum could not wait to show the red, sooner we have var the better, 1st minute of the game a feckin shocking decision, at worst a yellow, the useless arsehole cost us the game today.

  13. It would appear so. Hopefully we call them out and bill them as appropriately. This seems to be happening more and more these days, with several different sets of fans, likewise with jumping on the pitch to celebrate goals. I include our own in that. I don’t get why football fans can’t just go and support their clubs without this nonsense. Or is it more about getting likes on social media under the hashtag ‘#scenes’??

  14. I think Alexander himself stated it was a 3-4-3 but you could easily think of it as a 5-2-3. Either way we have a squad with plenty of natural midfielders and he starts with Donnelly who is way off form and a young inexperienced player, in midfield, in a Scottish cup quarter final.

  15. The lineup threw me, as it often does under Alexander, but the tactics were far from bizarre. The game plan appeared to be to match up with Maloney’s 343, which has been powderpuff until today, and overpower them. There was enough evidence to suggest it may have worked with 11 on the park. Having said that, I’d question both the starting personnel and the decision not to substitute Ojala for O’Donnell early in the first half.

  16. The line up was frankly ridiculous, I always try and defend our manager but given we were playing a struggling team I’ve no idea why he picked that starting 11 and that formation. A 3-4-3 with with McGinley and Mugabi out wide and two midfielders, sorry it makes absolutely no sense to me.

  17. Hibs were pish ? Kelly has several saves - how many did their keeper have to stop ? They were the better team by a distance in the first half and in the second managed the game and kept the ball - something we have zero ability to do. Feels like we're in freefall - other than working hard to stop the other team - I don't really see what we have to offer. Not all about the players either, I believe we could be a lot better with a different brand of footy.

  18. In the last 4 games the only players unavailable for the team or subs bench were Van Veen (missed the Rangers game), McGinley (missed the first 3 games) and O'Hara (missing today). There were 2 changes for Ross County, 4 for Dundee and 4 today. Changing the team/squad is clearly Alexander's choice, it's certainly not being forced on him.

  21. It was borderline for me and a yellow at worst but with that ref in charge,we are always risking a red with tackles like that.i totally agree though it was needless to go in like that in a position on the field where there was no danger to us.

  22. That first goal gets worse everytime you see it,that's shocking defending from mcginley to get beaten so easy.

  23. For a team with so many defenders on the park, we seem to be leaving them with acres of space in our box.

  24. Willie Collum has killed this game in the first minute, we can never catch a break

  25. Alexander's team selections have got more and more bizarre as this run without a win continues. Next week will probably be 7 at the back and three up front, with some extra defenders on the bench in case we need a formation change. FFS, play your best players in their best positions and base your formation on what your players are good at.

  28. Honestly I could not give a toss about whether it would have happened in an old firm game. I’m more interested in this game and us using our heads.

  29. What about when he has done it for weeks and weeks and completely ruined our chances of third, with our top six hanging in the balance? Look at that line up and tell me it’s the best time he could have picked, with the best players playing. Look at any line up since the winter break and tell me that was our strongest eleven. It’s a shambles.

  30. We'll see how it goes, but you know fine well people aren't reacting because of one team selection.

  31. I have no idea how that team lines up but calling for the managers head from a team selection is just the daftest knee jerk reaction you can have in football.

  32. This is a head on the block team selection. Hope to god it works, but if it doesn't, you'd have a hard job defending Alexander.

  33. The ball over the top for Woolery to run on to is probably our best attacking option but it's also the main reason for all the long balls.

  36. Hibs also missed a penalty in the win over Liverpool and lost the return leg 3-1. Although he was coming to the end of his career, Alex Edwards was providing a fair bit of guile in their midfield. They were a very decent side and just pipped us for third, and a European spot. As I recall, in the second replay at Ibrox, Peter Marinello came off the bench to score the winner from the penalty spot.

  37. Possibly the finest Well performance I've ever seen. The team was dead on its feet that night after a flu outbreak. Hibs got what they deserved that night. We asked for a postponement but their Chairman Tom Hart accused us of underhanded tactics and in effect cheating in trying to get the game called off despite having medical evidence.

  38. Although not playing well in our last 2 league games we have dominated in possession and shots. everyone knows the only stat that counts is goals. Also everyone knows we need to turn those favorable stats into goals and stop gift wrapping goals for the opposition. I think it’s probably easier to cut out gifting the goals so I think our biggest issue will be, can we actually score a few. COYW!!
