  1. Unsurprisingly a lot of the criticism of the club not signing any players good enough to sell on, has now turned into criticism of the club for selling one.

  2. Woolery's signing announcement video is a wild 90 seconds!

  3. I hoped Woolery would kick on as the season progressed, but he still frustrated me by struggling to beat a man when the ball was at his feet and the number of times he crossed to the first defender. Might have better suited to a more central role, but KVV was always going to be first choice there. His power and speed were certainly assets, but he's one of those players that I'd have been OK with if he'd stayed but not too worried that he's leaving. (Not necessarily convinced by Efford either).

  4. Had 2 years left on deal so if we have got decent money it's great business in my opinion. Apart from a few goals against gers and a Great performance against dun utd he didn't really impress me. Hopefully the Turks also highly rate Carroll and McGinley

  5. Can remember going to Tynecastle round about then and all our buses gave out red cards to flash at Walter Kidd during the game .

  8. I must have been watching a different player to those people commenting on twitter, everyone has their own views but for me it isn't a great loss.... COYW

  9. I'm curious as to how "undisclosed fees" work now that a lot of us are club owners. Would they not have to tell us if we asked?

  10. It’s as if very few have read the press release… official line is ‘a deal that’s suits both the club and player’ suggests to me minimal - club accounts will confirm if that were the case or not. Good business could be argued we’ve moved on a player who’d expressed a desire to leave regardless of finances.

  11. Wow!!,. They obviously have a lot of delight and think he will be full of Eastern promise......anyone under age of 35 will have no idea what I am on about !! Lol

  12. I thought he had something as seen v dundee utd and hearts at home. Both were pishing wet nights so maybe ball held up in puddles rather than running out of play lol. Hope we have someone lined up to replace him . Although I think all signings so far are good and reliable players who I feel will enhance team they are not as others say exciting anyone but how many exciting signings do we ever make? Would mikey Johnston at celtic be available on loan? I'd imagine his salary would put him out our reach for permanent transfer but again unsure He is still young with potential and people to prove wrong and certainly would come under the kelly type signing where we take a risk financially with hope of selling on later. Just a suggestion off top of my head.

  14. We had a terrible record against Hearts through the mid eighties to early nineties. I don't know exactly but I think it was about 15 games or something without a win, or maybe 1 win. Something like that anyway! I'll maybe look that up later on. EDIT - 2 wins in 36 between 1983 - 1993 and a run of 0 wins in 15 between 1985 and 1988.

  15. Personal view is Woolery moving on is a good move. He certainly has pace and some skill, albeit didn't really hurt teams. Many of us in the first half of the season couldn't believe he got a start every week. With our without a fee I don't see it being a loss. Re Keeper - can't help but think Kelly is one if the very few players we have who would attract interest from bigger clubs - a bit of extra protection perhaps ?

  16. They were honest dirty barstewards, whereas hearts were full of devious dirty barstewards

  17. I can't believe you left Wayne Foster and Scott Crabbe off that list....... Although to be fair, you probably just lost track of the number of odious b@stards that played for Hearts then.

  18. Walter Kidd, Brian Whittaker, Gary Mackay, Kenny Black etc. Then add in cheating wee c*nts like Colquhoun and Robertson.....

  20. That team just brings back nightmares of 1987 Scottish cup quarter final replay at fir park in front of 15,000 and watching John Gardiner making a Jim Delahunt of their goal

  21. personally think Goss is ok but not in a 3 man midfield as he's a bit powder puff and doesnt offer protection to the left back. I thought Spittal was brought in as the left sided midfield player. Be interesting to see who starts from the likes of Slattery, Spittal, Cornelius ,Goss, and now Morris. Not to mention Tierney who looks better as an old number 10 type player. Gives plenty of options for formations though - a decent blend of players.
