This " lucky , spawny, jammy" chat is utter shite the truth that people seem to conviently forget is that yes we were brutal from December onwards but in a league of 9 other teams who were equally as bad someone had to play well enough to grind out the results, pick up important points, win games etc to finish 2nd out of the 9, for a top 6 finish and European qualification which is what we did, luck had feck all to do with it.4 points

Getting back to Sunday. I see a 15 year old has been charged for throwing an object onto the park during the Rangers game. This is becoming all too frequent from that particular area of the ground and it especially seems to be games against Rangers that bring the worst out in that ‘group’. A couple of years ago stuff was thrown at Morelos and the same thing happened the previous season at that very same section. Hammell has felt the need to comment saying “conduct yourselves in a respectful manner while you’re here” ahead of the game tonight. This is the same area of the ground and I’d wager the same group that frequently bleat on about over zealous stewarding and policing but nonsense like this keeps happening from them.3 points

Predictable outcome against a side with a budget and playing resources we can only ream of. Our season will not be defined by our results against the old firm. The manager is having to deal with issues within the squad which are not of his making. Issues, I might add, that have been evident for some time and which his predecessors failed to address. We need to be both patient and understanding as it is not possible for these problems to be fixed in an instant. I think there are genuine signs that we are heading in the right direction, and I genuinely believe that we will stay up this season. Hopefully this run of poor results will be arrested soon, and not become a self perpetuating spiral of negativity. We have a squad with some talent and it is up to them, with guidance from the coaching staff and support from the fans, to find a way to get us back on track. COYW!1 point

In a transfer window where the majority of the budget had been spent by his predecessor on a squad that lost to Sligo. What a failure.1 point

OUR LEVEL get a grip man we are or should be a Premier League Team that competes at that level if we can't compete against all the teams then we would be better dropping down a level just giving up and chucking it, What do you see our level as Morton, Dundee Ayr. We need players that are capable of winning at Premier league level top 10 this year and a clear out. We have wasted so much money on 3 year contracts for DROSS and CROCKS1 point

Alexander has left us in the shite and we failed to make decent signings in the window . Said it before some of the players we have should be nowhere near Fir Park1 point

we've just come through tough few games . Hearts Celtic , Ross County, Hibs, Rangers, Celtic. We won the game we should be winning (RC) . Never nice losing 4-0 but sadly no huge surprise or any real reflection on how good we are. Unfortunately our next games are all tough v's Aberdeen, Utd, Hearts and Celtic again. It's not til closer to Chrimbo before the fixtures look more our level. Being realistic 1 or 2 points are the likely best outcome. Doesn't mean we're suddenly a poor team, but important we find something to keep confidence and stay in the pack.1 point

Having only three in midfield is doing more harm than good. I think we really have to play 3 5 2 from now on . We made too easy for Celtic tonight by giving them all the room in midfield to play the ball around all night . If we choke the midfield area it makes life a lot more difficult for the opposition.1 point

The gap just keeps getting wider, I’m afraid we can sign who we want but that’s not going to change. However having said that we were frankly just dreadful, I left after the third goal.1 point

I know you can’t judge us on games against the ugly sisters, but realistically 10th this season is a great season, the team is rotten with too many non triers, Aberdeen game at the weekend is already a six pointer, we are a side that concedes too many goals at can’t score any. It’s going to be a very long season.1 point

They are the absolute worst. The feeling of so near yet so far then all the patronising bullshit afterwards about “how well we played, how unlucky we were and how with our budget our great wee team shouldn’t be competing with them bla, bla, bla fuck”!1 point

Spot on,I don't get the whole lucky chat either, over the course of a full season we finished 5th and that's where we deserved to be.1 point

So just to be clear...... and this is a genuine question as I am getting mixed messages....... Would you have preferred Alexander to still be our Manager? Bottom line. If not, why not given the robust support you give him? Most people who believed his time was up gave him credit for keeping us up and also the points gathered in first half of last season (securing our top six finish), However they also recognised his and his team's failings in the second half of the season. Our style of play and the Sligo embarrassment only reaffirmed that view. I assume you see it differently? I don't believe any Club in the country would have stuck by him any longer given that last seven months. And I cannot buy into the view that folk wanted Alexander out for any reason other than the performances on the pitch and his inability/refusal to alter his approach. I do agree the treatment he received in Ireland was despicable though. I also note he has not walked into another job despite declaring he is available. Hammell has not gotten off to the greatest of starts but there is a freshness, structure and a unity there which gives me hope for the season ahead and the seasons to come. And not just for the first team. Sure, he does not have the credit in the bank that both Robinson and Alexander had, but in my opinion he will prove successful if the Club and the fans stick by him. As is the case with every Club worldwide, if he does ultimately fail, he will go. That's the nature of the job he and Alexander signed up to.1 point

If he’s seen as a number ‘6’ type, they’re choosing to go with 2 in Slattery & Goss which has served well. Has a strength in going beyond the forward line (which van Veen requires) and engine to match so why not offer him the opportunity? There’s more than a few on the Tierney hype train. Yes, he finds pockets of space, but, as the number ‘10’ type he never goes beyond which should have been developed.1 point

Call me a cynic but somehow I don't think we are going to operate VAR better than the English Premiership does.1 point

Technology is a wonderful thing. It lets you comment on events wherever you are in the world, which includes contributing to match thread discussions on the game you are watching. Ahh, weeyin’s standard ‘go-to’ whenever he is losing the argument. Not heard that for a while but nice to see you still resort to that when you’ve got nothing else. I don’t think I’m a better supporter than anyone, but I’ve still been at more Motherwell games than you can even dream of in the last decade. Back to the game, 0-3 now and a matter of how many Celtic want to score.0 points
