ffs yesterday we were talkin about hivs n ross county being make or break were just moving the make or break on were fucki shite4 points

Shields an easy target but he ain't the one that picks the team. Plenty others culpable especially Megaphone Sol (please start Blaney) and Spittal . Goss brutal and Penney also poor. We have no leadership in that team and I feel there has to be a place for a Scottish internationalist with 25 caps. And for all his goals KVV is not the guy you want when the chips are down, the application and workrate brutal ( that's my opinion). As fans we need to keep the head and encourage them, constant criticism ain't gonna help...COYW2 points

It's not the worst team in 36 years. People on here have short memories. Remember the latter days of Robinson when you knew we'd do absolutely nothing every week? And you need players like Goss if you want to do anything. That ball he played over the Hibs defence in the first half. Absolute class. It's the other players that aren't doing enough.2 points

We scored 2, hit the bar twice and Marshall had a very good save. Middle to front we are fine and actually play watchable football. The other end is the issue. We are a bag of nerves every time a team is in or near our box. I don't even think it's the players necessarily. It's a confidence thing. Kelly isn't making the outstanding saves he was making before. Lamie and Johansen aren't bad in the air but they aren't winning the headers. Too many mistakes. Players not getting close enough. Very poor goals being given away every week. We desperately need an experienced defender to come in, someone who is a leader - a Peter Hartley type. I've actually enjoyed the football we've played in the last two matches but you cannot be conceding 2 or 3 goals at home to bottom 6 teams.2 points

They fixtures will make or break us,go into them with hammell in charge and we can forget it.2 points

This is what a cheap managerial option looks like, coupled with an absolute dross squad of players2 points

Well that’s that then. Championship calling loud and clear now. Stevie Hammell proved to be no better than the previous manager and now has to be replaced.2 points

I really feel sorry for Kevin Van Veen. Week in week out he gets little or no support. There are too many poor players around him for him to be effective - Shields, Slattery, Cornelius, Goss and Spittal have contributed the square root of f*ck all - again.2 points

Penney was left with two players to mark. Lamie was marking Nesbet then left him alone by going towards the Hibs player with two Motherwell defenders beside him - Lamie to blame not Penney.2 points

The fans have a huge part to play today. We are in a precarious position so last thing the players need is fans getting on their back early doors. We need to get right behind and create a great atmosphere to hopefully help us get a vital 3 points. COYW2 points

Watch him in a game he's lazy, jogs about in games, hardly tackles, waits for the ball to come to him instead of going to win it, too easily forced off the ball, rarely if ever tracks back and generally jogs through a game looking like he does not give a feck. Yes he has scored a few goals and yes we would be a lot worse off without them, but for long periods in games he's a passenger contributing feck all, if he applied himself a bit more, we could have had another few goals and eased the position we are in, his work rate is shocking. Today's game, Kevin Nisbet just back from a 9 month injury yo his ACL, never stopped running, chased everything and got 3 goals while KVV was watching him run past him,we need players to do that not watch the game pass them by.1 point

I know you don't like Sol as you hit the Megaphone Sol quip every week even when the guy performs fine but on today's showing I think the defence were equally culpable as each other, we had three players trying to stop 36 year old chocolate knees Aiden McNeddy for the first goal and failed. Lamie came on to a game last year but I feel he is reverting back to his first season habits, how many long balls did he launch out of play. I'm sure Blaney is a left footed defender so in terms of balance its likely its his position he'll take. Mugabi isn't due to return to March and it seems it's the forward areas we're looking to strengthen so it's going to comic cuts continuing until the end of the campaign.1 point

I’m struggling to grasp why hammell would be pushing for turnbull to play?? You perhaps getting mixed up with craigan as turnbull was part of his squad at the time?1 point
-
Exactly right, the only option we have is to change manager and hope they get more from the squad than hammell is able too.i don't believe for a second that an experienced manager with a bit of know how couldn't set us up better than we currently are.the vast majority games were losing is by the odd goal,a new manager might be able to turn some of those defeats into draws and the odd win which in turn might just be enough to see us safe this season, for us to leave it like it is would be insanity.1 point

Hammy is onto a hiding to nothing so he might as well blood the youth and drop the dross.1 point

I've got a fair amount of sympathy for SH. Previous gaffers have come out post match and spoken utter dross. At least he comes out and calls it for what it is. Basic mistakes , irrespective of coaching it's individuals making stupid mistakes each week. Why - because they're not good enough. SH needs to have some level of accountability - which means being ruthless in terms of who he drops. The dilema is he'll need to bring in youngsters who're not ready. To be fair that's the roll of the dice he prob needs to take. Ideally we need Burrows to come out and show some financial backing.1 point

I honestly would keep him, he’s under contract and will do well in the championship.1 point

If we don’t beat Ross County next week then we’ll be in the Championship next season - and who knows maybe for a few seasons. Very poor squad of players, no money at the club, fan ownership laudable but failing due to small support, club run by well-meaning amateurs, Board fouled up with previous manager and then handed job to a rookie. If you sling out the players that aren’t any good/not performing then there’s not much left to make a team with. All adds up to a recipe for disaster and that’s what’s happening. Doubtful whether removal of Hammell at this point in time would make a difference as we just don’t have the players to get us out of this mess - and that’s been glaringly obvious since the Sligo Rovers debacle. Complete re-think required as to how the club is being run/managed off the field.1 point

Tough one to take. Really poor for the first 20 mins, gave away another soft goal, then managed to get on top for most of the rest of the game but just didn’t take our chances until the subs came on. Nisbet the difference between the teams, looked really sharp and took pretty well every chance he got, although defending from us looked terrible for all 3. No doubt Hammell’s struggling but the biggest issue we have is that we just don’t have the personal. Van Veen terrible again today, looks uninterested but he knows he’ll start next week anyway as there’s no competition for places. As a few others have said we need to stick by Hammell and back him in the transfer window.1 point

I'm one for giving guys time, but I think he's had his now, time for Maguire or even SOD and shuffle the midfield1 point

Frustrating to say the least, Kevin Nisbet had three touches in our box and each time it ended with the ball in our net. Apart from a Porteous free kick going well wide I don't remember them actually having another pop at goal. I guess that tells the story of where we are. Any points today would have been greatly received due to the games in hands over some of our rivals but we blew it as per. We're barely past the half way point in the league and next week already feels like a must win.1 point

We don't have the players to play the way Hammel wants. We need to either sign a bunch, which it looks like we're struggling to do, or change the way we play. Shields isn't good, but we're killing him by running him out there every week. There were good bits here and there, I thought Spittal played well in the advanced role, and we did manage to score twice and hit the bar twice, but we make way too many basic mistakes then just shrug the shoulders and move on when they cost us. Hibs brought on two defenders to hang onto the lead, and ended up walking the ball into our net. This is the softest motherwell side I've seen.1 point

Same tactics same players starting every week no ideas. Nah not having it but you know we will plod on. Penney has checked out btw he can't wait to get back down the road.He had a shocker.1 point

And therein lies the problem Goss IMO should be one of the first out the door1 point

Dross all over the park. I have no confidence this team would even compete in the Championship.1 point

A wee bit of quality and composure from McKinstry. Begs the question why was he warming the bench in the first place. Surely must be ahead of Shields?1 point
-
Penney comfortable on ball but he can't defend and we need defenders first and foremost1 point

Penney shouldn’t be left with two players to mark, Lamie just abdicated responsibility. Penney totally fucked up at the second there1 point

just seen the hivs team, quite a strong line up including the 2 fuds mcgeady and porteous, with us on the same 11 as normal , i hope to feck SH is setting up to have a go and not sit tight like a poker player, cause at the end of the game stevie the fans are not intrested in the shots, corners, and throw in stats, its 3 feckin points and nothing else, MON I WELL1 point

If we are to win this game, Van Veen will need to score a hat-trick because it’s certain our defence won’t be able to keep a clean sheet!1 point

Why would Hammell have contacts? He was running our academy, transfers were never a part of his job. You get contacts from doing business. You would be as well asking why Riki Lamie doesn't have contacts He got the job because he got off to a good start and the candidates who applied were very poor. We have a head of recruitment and a CEO who has years of experience dealing with agents and signing players. They should have stepped up.1 point
