  1. We might not know (yet) if Championship is his level, but it's pretty obvious playing as a winger is not his position.

  2. Another 2 goals for Connor shields yesterday, you know , actually really pleased for him. I know he hadn't been playing well but the amount of abuse the lad took was ridiculous. Maybe a run of goals and confidence boost could see him return and be a success. Yes could also be fact championship is his level but good to see the lad scoring anyway.

  3. Given their away record is so poor you could of course argue they are such a poor team that without the plastic pitch they would be cut adrift down at the bottom.

  7. I think the fact that QP are playing him through the middle will be helping him enormously. Whether he will ever be good enough for the Premiership remains to be seen. But it is nice to see him get a bit of respite. Hopefully he can use the time to regain his confidence and come back to us a better player.

  8. Three games difficult, vital games in a just over a week and only dropped two points in a hard away game on a shit pitch. I don’t think that fact should be underestimated in any way.

  9. Including yesterday, they’d played 14 games at home and only lost 3 times - Celtic, Rangers and Livingston and only 4 other clubs had taken a point from them - Hearts, St.Mirren, Dundee Utd and us. Up until yesterday they’d played 14 games away from home and failed to win a single game and have only managed 2 draws - St Mirren and us. Now I know usually teams away form is worse than their home form but you can’t help thinking that this is an abnormal balance.

  10. Indeed. If we look back to the Kilmarnock game at FP now, that point cannot be better illustrated. That one result seemed to completely derail Stevie Hammell's spell as manager. Would Hammell still be the manager now if we had won that night? The facts will show that we got one point that night and one point yesterday but the emotions that surround the result are very different. It is for that reason that I think that we may well look back on Slattery's goal as the one that keeps us safe this year. A defeat yesterday would have pulled us right back into the relegation battle with Kettlewell having to lift the players for a massive game this coming weekend. As it is the mood stays positive and everybody makes the long trip to Dingwall with optimism. The goal will have been a real body blow to Killie's morale yesterday. The quality in the playing squads between the teams in 4th to 12 th are so similar that it is moments like Polworth's wonder goal at FP or Slattery's free kick yesterday that can change the fortunes of a season. Confidence is king.

  11. Our previous two wins turned that game from a must win game for us to a must not lose and that's exactly what we did. If we can get away from from Ross County without a defeat I'll be reasonably happy. We should then have both Killie and RC at Motherwell after the split. The Dundee Utd game at Fir Park will be huge. Hope they don't have a new manage bounce going on by then.

  12. Given the pitch, it was never going to be a classic, but I'm happy we earned a point. The result was the important thing. Sickening a close rival with a very late goal can only be a good thing too and won't do their confidence any good, especially as they drop to 11th place. In contrast it'll boost our rising confidence. This isn't a result we'd have got a fortnight ago. What a goal though. I should feel sorry for Killie but I don't, given that they didn't feel sorry for us when they stole a point from us last December. Its dog eats dog.

  13. How half empty is your glass ? We were by far the more threatening team in the second half, even on that abomanation of a pitch. Draw was the least we deserved.

  14. If you’re coming in from A77/A71 via Bellfield Interchange, take Dundonald Road exit (left at first roundabout then left again), you can normally get parked on side of road. The earlier you get there, the closer to ground you get.
