I was dead level with Spittal in the POD stand. Was it KVV who passed (or Goss, canny remember) but Spittal made the run and the pass was just delayed by a step or two. Was clear from where we were sitting. Shame though, good run and cross. Canny believe some of the negativity on here man. We''ve taken what, 30 pts from 13 games ? WTF more does anyone want ? Do you think the run that say, Aberdeen have been on recently has all been Spanish style silky soccer, or have they maybe ground out most of their results ? You extrapolate even 80% of the last 13 games form over a season and where would that put us ? Get a fuckin' grip and enjoy what we've achieved since Kettlewell came in.2 points

A good final day in the sun yesterday with the perfect outcome. We sealed 7th place and the extra dosh that attracts. SK also had the opportunity top see more fringe players in action. Good to see Lennon Miller get a start although he had a quiet game. Not convinced about Mugabi though and the jury is still out on Blaney. Mandron doesn't do it for me. A few players looked as if they'd hit the beach. Despite us taking an early lead United totally dominated and barely let us touch the ball. Our midfield was totally anonymous. The penalty changed the game and I'm looking forward to seeing replays of it. Second half was totally different and we really stepped up a gear once United went ahead. The 65 minute substitutions did the trick and we scored a couple of lovelty goals. I thought the changes could have been made at half time but we won. Well done to the Bois for a fantastic display and support. They certainly upped the atmosphere and although they take some stick at times they also deserve credit. Great to end the season on a high - an interesting summer lies ahead.2 points

We were never bottom of the league this season and were only in the bottom two 2 weeks out of 38. Sligo and Raith Rovers were disappointing but losing to Celtic was to be expected. I'd even go as far as to say the standard of football we played this season, even for the most part under Hammell, was better than for at least 3 seasons.2 points

So, thanks to @weeyin and his consistency with the MOTM threads after every game, I've had a look at who has been winning those votes each game this season and compiled the following list of players who are, by democratic vote, considered the performers of the season for Motherwell. Leading the way with 7 MOTM awards, and of absolutely no surprise to anyone, is... Kevin Van Veen. Striker extraordinaire, lazy c*nt, budget Bergkamp. He's been called it all this season, but the one thing he absolutely is, is crucial to our success since Kettlewell took over. Top striker, top guy, let's hope he's still here next season. In second spot is... Matt Penney Not even at the club for six months, but it's fair to say he made an impression during his time in Lanarkshire. 16 league games, two cup games. 5 MOTM awards. Basically, he was voted our best player in almost 30% of the games he played for us. A very good player who most fans would loved to have kept here for longer. Third place in the voting is shared among three players who nabbed 4 votes each... Liam Kelly. The captain, and one of the best shot stoppers in the league in my opinion. He gets a bit of stick when he dips below the usually high standards he sets, but that comes with the territory. Sondre Solholm Johansen At the club for just shy of 18 months, the big man made an impression on the fans for sure. A bit of a cult hero, even if he had his deficiencies as a player. Always gave his all, and will be fondly remembered by most fans I'd like to think. Stuart McKinstry While the local lads homecoming didn't go quite to plan and he was slowly phased out when Kettlewell took over, he did more than enough to win the votes of fans in the times he did play. Will we see him at Motherwell next season? I doubt it. But he'll go on to do well somewhere I think. So there you have it. The players who secured the highest three votes in the season. Thanks again to @weeyin for running those polls.1 point

I'd be looking for something in the range £500k - £1m probably around £750K but the club will have "set" an asking price. We are perceive as playing in a "diddy" league, somewhere below League 2 in England, and that will be factored into any bid from down south. Less than £500-600K and its not worth our while selling him - he's worth more than that knocking in goals for us. What do I know though?1 point

Interesting how the results are weighted to players who performed under Hammel when the team was shit. I'd say Furlong was much better than Penny, but Penny only had to compare with Carroll and McGinlay who are rank and should ever have had extended contracts. I reckon Solholm got the votes because he was a megaphone fans fav, but again Butcher and Cassey are head and shoulders above. I guess Van Veen's purple patch under the Kettle has stopped the other mentioned above getting the votes it would be interesting to see this split under Managers. Thanks for setting this up1 point

Far superior to Lamie and Mugabi to be fair, we all know you didn't like him on the megaphone, he got stick for being slow but was Usain Bolt compared to Ricki. His early partnership with Ojala looked like it was going to be immense but sadly injuries put paid to that. It was some season for KVV, it'll be sad to see him go. You think of some of the chances he missed earlier in the campaign he could have been well into the mid-30s. I liked Penney but he tailed off massively toward the end, I was worried about Furlong being his replacement as he had only managed to muster a few senior appearances before coming here. It's nice to see Kelly get back to form with some fine stops yesterday. Feel bad that McKinstry dropped out of the side, I understand why but he was one of the rare shining lights earlier in the campaign.1 point

Aye I think max will definitely be away sadly and I think the odds on van veen being here next season are very slim.if both do leave hopefully the money we receive will ensure we can find the right replacements.like you grizzly I would love to see furlong again next season,he started off shaky but has grown into an important player for us,seeing two young full backs on either side getting forward and putting balls into the box and be a goal threat has been really enjoyable to watch, hopefully that's plan for next season whoever is playing.agreed again about mandron, they guy is average at best, there's no way we can keep him and obika on next season.1 point

This is correct. 2 totally different incidents. Mugabi goes up to head the ball. Fletcher pushes him in the back. The ball is behind Mugabi who cant see it and it strikes him on the upper arm. There is no movement to the ball. He was jumping for the ball so his arm is in a totally natural position. Its never a penalty in a million years. All 3 Sportscene pundits agreed. The hand ball rule is broken.1 point

Fair point about Aitchison offering nothing but in his defence, I don't know how much he could offer given he never got off the bench...1 point

Furlong and McGinn had very good games. Kelly had a very good first half but had little to do seconf half. KVV got his goal and had some great runs. Max had a great last 30 mins. But our MOTM by a distance today is Blair Spittal. How some of our fans cant see his quality is beyond me.1 point

just a question but does anybody else think MJC and STEELBOY are the same person ???? just a thought1 point

That's just not true, he put two absolutely superb crosses into the box today, one for Mugabi and then 5 seconds later one of the best first time half volley crosses I've ever seen. AND he scored a 20 yard rasper today! You just don't like the guy.1 point
