  1. If SK had been sacked we would probably be heading to the Championship by now, and the usual fuckwits would still be whinging about the new manager and how they need to be dumped. I'm glad the club seen sense, it's stability we need not a constant churn of managers every other season.

  2. Apparently Bevis to Dundee utd is the next rumour. I wouldn't lose sleep over that to be fair

  3. That's a bit harsh. People on here are allowed an opinion whether you agree with it or not. It's a democracy. There's no need to be verbally abusive to others if they disagree with your opinion. Its Motherwell FC forum. Not "happy clapper" forum. Whether opinions are positive, overtly negative or balanced, they should all be allowed to be heard and respected.

  4. I was told St Johnstone appointing Levein displayed the kind of ambition Motherwell never show. Championship football seems a strange ambition, but there you go. Ross County, Hibs and Aberdeen could tell similar stories - multiple times - but apparently we should have no trouble finding a successful manager with great experience at our level.

  5. With Vale that has been my main gripe for weeks. He is a striker so why are we playing him in deeper role? Bair is isolated on his own. I also agree that guaranteed he starts Nicholson but I would hope he started in place of Spittal and we bring Moses in for Vale. Or bring Shaw in for Vale......cueeeeeeeee......ba.......boom....🤣🤣🤣

  6. It baffles me that Kettlewell can't see what the fans see every week regarding Vale. He's a striker; play him beside Bair. It's that simple. Although I bet he starts Nicholson instead of Moses next week. It's time for a new keeper next season. For a team like ours, I’d rather have a big commanding keeper than a smaller shot-stopper. I'm pleased to see that Kettlewell isn't afraid to call out the officials on this incident. However, it’s a shame he's not as quick to learn from his own persistent failings, as perhaps that would give some indication that he's capable of implementing effective changes across the piece.

  7. I think this is fair comment. But I'm not sure who the alternative choice as leader could be, given that almost everyone else has been in and out of the team. Another part of the rebuild required. Miller in time perhaps but that is a long way off. Butcher and Casey were obvious choices at season start but they have had their own issues to overcome without being burdened with Captaincy. And anyway, the players seem comfortable with Kelly. But to bring some balance to this Kelly debate. Every one of our defenders has made multiple errors this season, leading to goals conceded. And that includes untouchables McGinn and Gent. The entire team shares responsibility for our defensive failings. As for the Aberdeen game I wonder if Kelly's loudest critics actually bothered to watch the game. Kelly was all that stood between us and a 3 or 4 nil hiding in the second half. Strange how anything good he does is ignored by some. And, yes, he frustrates me at times as well but then so do they all.

  8. Given how many teams we play against that launch balls into the box, it's not a bad talent to have. I've said it for years now, that as long as he just keeps his passes short and simple he's worth his place in the team based on his aerial presence.

  9. Brilliant at heading the ball away but you look through your fingers when it's at his feet.

  10. I agree that Casey has had his moments but Bevis just gives the fear every time he is on the ball. An absolute gem of a guy and always welcome at fir park but time to move on

  11. We've reached the point with bevis where it will benefit both parties if he moves on,he's never really improved while he's been here and been a bit of a liability the whole way through.we need as much funds freed up to bring some defenders in and bevis leaving would be a good start.

  12. Absolutely. The constant Kettlewell is shite and Kettlewell must go.

  15. You might want to have a word with at least one of the 'absolute wankers' about being a bit harsh or verbally abusive to others. Although, in fairness, he can take it as well as he dishes it out.

  16. I do understand the point you are making and I actually thought he would walk if we hadn't got that point at St Johnstone a few days later. The pressure would have been on if we had lost that game as well. Why should managers go every time we hit a crap run? We can't afford to be replacing and paying off managers every other season. Unless we are rooted to the bottom next season he deserves to see out his contract. Plus. He's got managerial experience and he wants to be at Motherwell. And as you say he's got the dressing room.

  17. I completely agree. I honestly don't get why the standards set for Kettlewell seem to be so high - as long as he keeps us out of the relegation zone he's going to see out his contract.

  18. It's not the club it's Kettlewell and Daws. We had an opportunity to get rid of them and chose not to. Now we are relying on them for probably our biggest ever rebuild. Kettlewell seems to know he's not got what it takes in the transfer market which is why he made no attempt to bring in a centre back in either window. Because of our poor business in the last two windows we are now looking at him needing to sign 6 or 7 players that contribute plus a few loans. There is zero reason to believe he can manage it.

  19. If Kelly was just as good at commanding his area, distribution, and coming for crosses as he is at shot-stopping, he wouldn't be at Motherwell. Players who are competent in all areas and who consistently play relatively well will draw interest from further up the food chain. I'm not saying we should retain Kelly or that he's worth what he's getting at the moment, but the notion that some fans have that we can simply let him walk and find another keeper who's just as good or even better for less money is unlikely.

  20. Heard a rumour that Kettlewell told the players to make sure they lost the game today so that four absolute wankers could have an evening of bitching on an internet forum. After four games without a defeat, they might not have survived another.

  21. No really. I just made up a more inspiring rumour to cheer Steelboy up. I mean, surely the Scougall one's pish too - a guy approaching 32 who's spent the last 4 years at Alloa. The only possible way that would make any sense would be if we get relegated. Are these names coming from any reliable source, or just some randoms online?
