Yes, thats certainly true. Because of his background, he does know a lot more about football in general than fans who haven't been involved in professional football. He also knows more than virtually all the fans, about the playing side of the club. However, these forums / fora are all about debate; hopefully considered reasonable discussion. Surely its not unreasonable to question the manager's decisions at times or are we going to shut that down? We cannot afford to suppress criticism simply because someone knows more than we do. I was told by a former teacher to treat anything I was told by salesmen, lawyers, politicians and teachers with a questioning attitude. They might have silver tongues but they're not always right. Constant criticsm for the sake of it is wrong but so is unquestioning support. Its a fine line to tread.

It's not just about Vale as you say. It's the inconsistencies. Dunne got a yellow for a tackle that left Mika crocked for three months.

I think it has to be Obiye up top with Bair that seems the obvious choice assuming SK will start with a defined front 2, as I hope he does. Nicholson might do a job in midfield but Oli Shaw should be nowhere near the team, he's contributed nothing since he came to the club.

I think the obvious option is to put Bevis up front on his own, move O’Donnell to left wing back, push Casey wide right, have Bair at centre back with Gent in central mid and that should ensure victory

Compare Vale's challenge to the one which put Lennon Miller out for several months. The Aberdeen player went in on him, late, high and with intent. Referee failed to produce a card of any colour.

Stefan Scougall signed a new contract with Alloa now so those rumours are untrue. Wouldn't have expected it to happen anyway.

Comes across that you are just sitting there desperate for Kelly, SOD or Spittal to slip up. Surprised you ignored SOD's one slip where he sclaffed the ball into the crowd. Kelly was far from the worst player on Saturday. Given how poor you say he was, I find it surprising that the Motherwell fans at the game did not turn on him. . Out of curiosity, were you at the game or is your assessment based on TV highlights? Or maybe his supposed salary? Strange you did not have anything to say about the crosses from Gent that almost reached the North Sea, or Shaw and Nicholson hiding and refusing to challenge for the ball umpteen times. Or Bair passing the buck rather than having a shot. How about McGinn giving the ball away when under no pressure. Or Casey going walkabout. Or Miller caught dreaming when SOD cut the ball back to him. I repeat, every one of our players....no matter their quality.... regularly make mistakes. Some seem exempt from criticism.

Mugabi can go anytime, hasnt progressed one bit in his time with us. Still makes the same basic mistake he always did and too regularly as all players make mistakes. .

Aberdeen had five shots on target and Lennon Miller headed the first one off the line defending a corner about 55 minutes in. The second shot on target was the goal from a corner after an hour. Of the three saves he made I can think of two. The shot from outside the box which was straight at him and the shot from the right hand of the box which he saved at the near post. Neither were great saves. Add in his nonsense at the end of the game that almost gave away a goal and it was another joke performance from him.
