  1. It's horrendous. The usual slaters just don't know how to support the club. We could replace kettlewell with ancelotti and he'd get the same dogs abuse for his setup and selections. It's chronic negativity. Don't expect any suggestion of who we should replace the manager with or what players we should sign because you will be simply ghosted. We weren't even that bad today. Created numerous chances although we didn't take them. Clean sheet with the defence and goalkeeper looking solid and largely untroubled all afternoon. We've just kicked off the season ffs. Fine margins and we've won today by 2 or 3.

  2. I have been off for a while but it's the same old ones wanting change, they'll be the same with the next boss and the next one ad nauseum ...1st half was poor today but 2nd better , we should have won it by 3 goals...that's my take , by all means disagree but show some balance , defence is better , not so sure we are as good up top yet .

  3. Correct and an absolute over reaction from the fans today. Sure there is a lot to improve but I've seen us play a lot worse than that today. Thought Wilson had a good game. Oxborough coming off his line for cross balls was good to see. Halliday doesn't have it for me nor does Blaney. Robinson lacks composure but puts in a power of work. Every set piece ball into their area was poor as it was last season. I do wonder how this is so difficult to remedy. As I said a lot to improve on but not the worst we will play this season.

  5. We just look utterly dull and no ideas that's two weeks in a row that we have nothing about us. Much of a muchness and it will wear thin pretty sharpish. Watched St Mirren the other night looked sparky, solid and properly set out we look a million miles off them right now. As for Halliday he starts every week it's like starting with ten men doesn't offer us anything.

  7. Kettlewell won't be here much longer it's just a shame we've let him waste our money. That was dire, it's hard to see how we're going to score goals never mind win a game. Caldwell was talking about growing the support. It will be shrinking again if we don't start winning games at home. It's also embarrassing that we're charging so much for the worst away supporter facilities in the league.

  10. It's in Liverpool. An odd friendly but if it gives some players much needed gametime then fine.

  12. Can I just ask those slating Kettlewell, who should we bring in? Ye not brilliant today but hardly disastrous.

  13. I felt very sorry for Lennon Miller today. Despite me being 15 minutes late, I saw him suffer 3 very bad tackles before half time. He simply looked intimidated and should have been hooked at half time for his own good.

  14. He was far too busy on Monday night telling us we were third top scorers in the league last season ( a fact) but did not mention our poor defensive record . Likes to Pat himself on the back . I don't think he could handle direct criticism. I also thought he was quite ignorant when Brian Caldwell was speaking by reading a sheet of paper on the table next to him.

  15. Should have won today so 2. Points thrown away, RC were dreadful and never looked like scoring. Can't understand taking Ebiye off and bringing on Wells , we were allegedly trying to win the game so an extra striker would have been the better option. There is no width in the team, so that needs to be addressed , but that said we never lost so and are joint top so onwords and upwards.

  16. I don't think there is anything we have seen so far this season to change the perceptions of individual fans from the end of last season. Those who wanted Kettlewell sacked last season are already building the rhetoric to hold that same position this season. Those (like me) who thinks we are playing a waiting game and that it could still go either way for Kettlewell and the team are still playing a waiting game. It is too early to really say. Halliday will need time if he is to come good this season. He also needs time on the pitch. The new players need time to settle. The positives are that we are unbeaten in our competitive games ths season. (in 90 mins) and we looked better than RC. Interestingly the BBC Text commentary noted some surprise that there was boos coming from sections of the Well support at full time. I think the hangover from last season may be skewing our judgement of what the early season looks like.

  17. Hopefully once SK has his preferred first 11 players available we will improve. Ok hopefully we improve before that and at least provide a few chances for our new striker to see what he can do.

  19. Same line-up as the Partick cup game except Ebiye in for Stuparević (who doesn’t even make the bench!?). As I said last week 5 defenders and 2 defensive midfielders and rely solely on 3 players to try to create and score goals - young Miller for the former and Ebiye and Robinson for the latter. How the f*ck can Kettlewell think he can win football matches with a line-up line and tactics like these? Answers on a postcard! He seems wedded to the use of full-backs to provide an additional attack option - defenders miss the midfield out and get the ball to the full-backs who are expected to provide crosses for the strikers. Fine if you have got Roberto Carlos or Kyle Walker but not with the ones we have. FFS get a couple of wide-playing midfielders to play with Miller and ditch one of the defensive midfielders Halliday or Zdravkovski. We need to win our home games against the likes of Ross County or we’ll become relegation fodder.

  20. I've tried holding off on simply disliking him for obvious reasons, and lack of game time prior to signing gave him a grace period, but I have to concede Haliday looks done.

  21. Think we've looked sharper than the cup matches. Better tempo. Still struggling to create chances but we've had two we really should score, so should be 2-0. We've been the better team and Riss County haven't really caused us any problems so far. However if you aren't clinical it can come back and bite you.

  25. Aye Motherwell is being turned into a rat run for HGVs. I don't think people realise how bad it's going to be.

  26. If we go with 2 up top then it has to be 2 up top and not one playing deeper. We don't have a player, yet, who can play on his own, Bair style. They also have to play close together to work as a cohesive unit.

  27. We should thank Jim for his years of service and he did some positive things. Its a pity that he made a wrong choice latterly, albeit it was a serious one. There have been some big personalities on the club board in recent years but, they have now moved on. Let's hope the new Board when its appointed, can work on a more democratic and collective basis.

  28. He's played 90 minutes of football i.e a game in total; we're arguing over semantics here. That's 90 mins over 4 appearances, when one of them was 45 minutes. Nowhere near enough for someone to get up to speed with a totally different brand/type of football. He's shown flashes as an impact sub but he was definitely "aff it" today. But I'd argue the set up was far from ideal for the majority of the players. How long did it take Gent, Davor and others to settle into the team last season? Weeks, against much stronger opposition than we've faced so far.

  29. O’Donnell - Not good enough, terrible crosser, too slow getting up and back down. Kaleta - Will take 3 months to get up to speed. Katroumbis - No idea as injured. Hopefully better than O’Donnell. Wilson - Not fit or fast enough. Turns back or inside all the time instead of down the outside. Blaney - Not good enough at this level. Easily bullied and not sharp enough in the head. Casey - Got a major blunder in him most games. Regressing after a good start. Davor - Passing poor, only good for breaking up play. Struggles to impose on games. Halliday - Spent force. No legs. Slow in possession. Championship player at best these days. Stuperavic - Struggling with the pace of Scottish football. Hope he comes good, but have early concerns. Robinson - Looks to be lacking confidence. Not convinced he will score enough at this level. Need another Striker, Attacking Midfielder and Left Wing Back. If I was being greedy, a good Defensive Midfielder. Buckle in, because it’s going to be another tough season ahead with the squad Kettlewell has built so far.
