Whether itโs a target man or runners the problem with our long passes is that they are horrendously inaccurate. Nothing wrong playing long balls all the time if they are accurate. At best most are 40/60 on our guy getting the ball. First option should be a ball in behind the defence for player to run onto. If not on then can we play it to feet of someone forward or at least to where they can control it with their chest or other body part. Most of our long balls are either straight to opposition, way too long or way to high or out the park
We do that anyway (well, a lot of the time) and we dont have anyone to make it effective. Id be ok with going long if it didnt keep coming straight back again.
Thats true but, IF he comes this month, I suspect he'll be brought in to beef up the midfield i.e replace Davor. As its stands we badly need a physical defensive midfielder and a hulking target man, if we want to stick to Ketts' plan but make it more effective.
