Very encouraging last night. A 6 pointer and we won it with some style. Not getting carried away though as one swallow and all that. A real team effort and good to see the likes of Halliday and O'Donnell play well too. I wasn't encouraged by the pre match line up but that proved to be unfounded and in the first half we played well on the ground with pace, passing and some nice football. I thought Lennon Miller was at his best, and in a more advanced role, although not 100% fit. Our Viking up front put in a real shift, although he's not a goalscorer. The football on offer was exciting and the fans responded to that. We could have been out of sight by HT but it was what it was. One point of concern was the ease that Dundee got down our flanks but that can be worked on. A high intensity first 45. We were always going to run out of gas in the second period and Dundee changed their set up to some effect. We were under the cosh for a large part of the second half and it was no surprise that Dundee drew one back. As Weeyin says it will take the squad months to up fitness levels and MW will be well aware of that. Perhaps our substitutions were a tad late but maybe that was more down to match officials. I thought Moses and Harry Paton did well when they entered the fray, with their fresh legs. It speaks volumes for the team to come back and score the winner after losing a late goal. Both sides claimed for penalties but neither was given, ours without even a VAR check. I thought Dan Casey's power of recovery was impressive not to say surprising after being out injured for a spell. The fans rightly applauded the team afterwards and stayed on to show their support. It just goes to show what a bit effort and positive attitude on the field can do. The atmosphere was far better last night than it has been for months. Onwards and Upwards.5 points

Correct, fans will accept it if things go wrong and they can see what the teams trying to do. No matter what any manager says it's still an entertainment business and I think a few fans may have stuck longer with SK if we lost but we're pushing teams hard, playing a bit of football and creating chances. SK stuff was utterly turgid. Games with not a single effort on goal even against pish. Main priority was not to lose never to win. No width to our play, boot it long all game, it was utterly mind numbing. Even if we hadn't got the winner last night most Motherwell fans, though disappointed, would have seen some entertainment and that we may be progressing. None of that was happening under SK. Last night I enjoyed my first game in months. Even the Aberdeen win we played for 15 mins thankfully got two goals but the spent 45 mins being dominated by 10 men from a team who didn't win a game in 15.4 points

Casey was in no-mans land, which isn't unusual. I can see why fans like him as he brings a great attitude and energy to the team and puts the fear into the opposition when he's in their box at corners and free kicks. That's all positive. As a defender, though, he is often out of position and not averse to passing straight to an opponent. That's the negative. I haven't seen anything in the past few seasons that suggest he's the solution to our huge defensive issues, but I'll be delighted if Wimmer finds a way to prove me wrong.2 points

Sitting in the Cooper gives a great view of the tactical set-up and throughout the last 3 managerial appointments the game has been squeezed and played completely in half the width of the park. So nice and refreshing tonight to see the game stretched and both wing backs moving wide as soon as Balcombe had the ball.2 points

Performances excellent from everyone but I've had to go for the bold SOD. Much maligned by myself and others in recent weeks but he put in the type of performance that makes me eat my words. Long may it continue.2 points

Heard today that O'Donnell was also questioning Kettlewell on his tactics.2 points

If you haven't noticed his skippy running gait, my advice is to not think about it, because once you see it, it's all you can see.1 point

Do you think he looks as if he runs with a limp ? theres just something about his running style like craigan used to run and every 2/3 steps he would stubb his toe emday else notice these wee things ? or am a just para ??1 point

Casey was complimenting Wimmer and impact he has made so far. Very early days but him and Ahmet look like guys you would want to play for....but if you don't pull your weight you will find out soon enough1 point

Got to add that the FP faithful when Dundee scored created the energy that had been missing in the 2nd half. The crowds reaction to Dundee's goal really lifted the team. Well done to all who were there.1 point

Playing a high press high tempo game needs a level of fitness many teams and players take months to achieve. Completely different from, say, playing on the counter attack. McGhee used to like to play that too, and even with a full pre-season, his sides ran out of puff after an hour or so. Under SK, we scored plenty of goals very late in games and you can't be that unfit to still be competing at that stage.1 point

I tell you one thing i have no idea wtf Kettlewell and co have been doing fitness wise with this team this season everyone near enough are totally blawing out there erse about the 60-70 min mark.Wilson is done by 30 mins his fitness is shocking. i honesty cant wait until we get some players in next season that will fit in with the system properly just hope Daws isnt in charge of the pc and enter button.1 point

You’re never out of a game at 1-0 and I did fear the worst when they equalised, but all credit to the players for getting their sleeves rolled up and going for the win. What a difference it makes not giving the opposition 2/3 of the park to play in. I know it may have weakened us taking Halliday, Miller and Slattery off but Halliday was jiggered and Slattery & Miller are both just coming back after injury so I think it was the right thing to do. Hopefully this win helps to lift the players (and fans) spirits. Messrs Wimmer and Koc seem like a breath of fresh air. COYW.1 point

No failures tonight and numerous players could have been considered for MOTM. Casey obviously caught the eye with his 2 goals and a couple of his mazy runs, but he was at fault for their goal. SOD, Thompson, Miller and Andrews all had really good games. Paton looked sharp off the bench and got an assist for the second goal. Voted for Armstrong as he was an absolute nuisance to Dundee all night, won some amount of balls in the air, and showed some really decent footwork at times under pressure. I like him!1 point

Hopefully nobody will have had time to feed the "we need to be at our best and them to underperform" patter to Wimmer yet and he just sets out a team that will earn some points. Doubt we'll get any, but at the very least it will be more competitve game time to work on the new tactics.1 point

So you were the person responsible for Kettlewell leaving as every game all he heard was OUT OUT OUT!! 🤣🤣. Ps. Done us a favour 😁1 point

Hope his family don’t read it…. Don’t want him going in the huff, having a cry and resigning.1 point

Much better - lots of burst baws out there at the end. Special mention to SOD - I’ve been a huge critic of his but credit where it’s due, thought he was excellent tonight.1 point

Love it when they prove me wrong. Never saw that coming. Night and day to the utter, utter dross we've watched for months. No failures in the team every one of them burst their arse for the cause. Losing the late goal it could have been so easy to retreat and try and hold on for a point as we'd have done under SK. However they kept pressing forward. When its a single goal the opposition is going to throw the kitchen sink at us. I don't care what the SOD haters think , and I agree he's been poor of late , but he covered every part of the pitch tonight and put in a lot of saving interventions. I sincerely hope the squad is better than I give them credit for but its been a bloody long time since we play football on the front foot and that was enjoying to watch, although nervy at the end.1 point

You can see the difference already with the high press 1st half and wing backs getting forward, 2nd half not as good but I think that is down to fitness and Wimmer will work on that. Lots of hard working performances and not going to criticise anyone. Hopefully the players can take a lot of confidence from that and great to come back after conceding that equaliser...COYW1 point

Much better on the ball tonight with the caveat that we were playing the worst team in the league right now. However don't really remember creating too many chances, we probably created more in the Ross County match it's just that our execution was terrible in that game. Stats say the keeper had 4 saves, I don't remember a serious one. And I thought we always looked venerable when the ball was turned over even when Dundee weren't really in the match in the first half. Stuff to work on for sure, need to tighten up off the ball and I'd like to see us perform against a team in better form than Dundee before I declare a revival. Overall though much better than the Ross County match.1 point

I really hope we can create a great atmosphere tonight to help Wimmer and the lads. Also a way of shoving 2 fingers up at previous manager and showing how great a support we have when you have a formation and intensity that gets us excited. In Michael and Ahmet we trust COYW!!!!!!1 point
