  1. Id love the top 6 place to go down to the wire between us and Hearts and we have them at Fir Park last game before the split. As well as being a ding dong battle it would put some much needed money in the clubs coffers as that would attract a big crowd to make up for some of the poor attendances of late.

  2. He was. Big time. Particularly when he was saying that the second goal was from moves they worked on in training. I am liking Halliday more by the day tbh

  4. My reference to SK was the way we set up this season, however the two games last year were bit more smash n grab and hitting on the break. I thought we had far more control of the game on Saturday than we normally do.

  6. Exactly. Most professional players have no problems putting aside their boyhood allegiances to do their job. It's a completely different mindset. Another classic example is Scott McDonald. He didn't exactly hold back on Skippy Sunday. He did (and enjoyed) the job we were paying for, in front of the home fans he played for.

  7. Yeah Halliday is quite decent. He's always good on the podcasts and SSB. Also think the last few games are up there with some of his best in a Motherwell strip.

  9. Great to hear that Andy Halliday was sticking up for us I don't have a problem with who a player supports , or where loyalties lie All u can ask for is that a player puts in an honest shift like he did , same as the likes of Davie Cooper, Bobby Russell and Tommy Coyne did

  11. Fully on board with Wimmer. Really is quite the turnaround and have gone from dreading eye-bleeding games, to eagerly anicipating decent football. Even if we were to lose we know there will be some decent stuff in there. Wimmer seems tactically astute and is quite personable/has a bit of man-management about him, which makes sense given his background. He's been getting a tune out of Andrews and I'm wondering if we can manave a loan for him again next year. Coventry are progressing towards a play-off place and if they get promoted, Andrews will be less likely to feature for them. Given he now seems to be flourishing with us, they may hopefully allow it. Obviously down to the player's preference as well. I'm quite looking forward to seeing what we look like after a pre-season under him.

  12. Aaargh! Welcome to Controversy Corner! It is normally a Sampdoria-sandwich-style hoop but then as a confirmed Hoopist my eyes might be deceiving me 🤣.

  13. Just watched the game again and noticeable when we won the ball from Butlands throw out we had 7 players in the Rangers half, and at the second goal 7 players again in the Rangers half , night and day from SKs tactics

  14. Winning the Dundee game was huge, because nothing gets players to buy into a system quicker than proving it works with a result. I'm sure being encouraged to put a foot on the ball and make passes helps too. And while wee Barry was talking about his tactic of "telling them what it means to be a Rangers player" our new gaffer was telling us how our second goal was exactly how we had planned it from the analysis. VfB Stuttgart meets Alloa Athletic.

  15. Early days but what a start from Michael and Ahmet. So far showing that we actually do have good players if used properly and allowed to play with freedom. We were all dreading relegation battle but now chasing Europe but we all know that could change quickly. All we ask is we play in a style we can appreciate with total effort. Job done so far and it looks like players have totally bought into it. The reaction from subs sums up our team spirit. COYW

  16. The powers that be wanted them parachuted back into the SPL. The wee clubs made sure they came back in at the bottom tier. So although they still got more than they were due, justice of sorts still prevailed.....

  17. Given that we have achieved back-to-back victories only once at Ibrox in more than 60-odd years, it got me thinking why? Surely the relative strengths of the two teams can't suddenly have narrowed to explain our recent wins? We've had a lot of pretty decent teams (much better than the present one) which continually came up short in that period against Rangers teams of varied ability . I always thought that even good managers like McGhee and McCall almost wrote off our matches against the OF and we just went through the motions in these fixtures. I feel that psychology/attitude must explain some of our abject performances at Ibrox: we were beaten before we started, irrespective of the relative strengths of the two teams. Which brings me to Mr Wimmer. I can't imagine that a visit to Castle Grayskull held many terrrors for a man who was used to playing away at Bayern Munich or Dortmund und so weiter in his spell at Stuttgart as assistant and then manager. So is the psychological aspect of "beaten before we started" a possible explanation for that shocking six decade statistic? I remember when Ian St. John took over as manager we immediately reversed a dire record at Celtic Park too because of his aggressive and positive mindset and it was great to see Pettigrew and Graham carve them up in away fixtures.
