  1. I see the superiority complex and cryptic style of some continue to be boundless.

  2. Perhaps some can stop the knicker wetting and invest in pampers now.

  3. “as he was running out of ideas” I think that that was patently obvious and I suspect Kettlewell, like Alexander before him, realised this too. And had he just left rather than creating this smokescreen about fan abuse being the reason he had to leave then I don’t think there would be half the amount of bad feeling towards him now. Unfortunately he chose to go down that route and to compound matters the club, WS and certain players aided his crusade by jumping on the same bandwagon. I actually liked him while he was with us even though it was clear he had ran his course, but he soured that with his bullshit about why he decided to leave. Don’t kid a kidder.

  4. Wimmer instigated the deal before he buggered off. It would also be nice for a current squad update before the club starts announcing additions to the squad for next season. Or is that too much to ask for?

  5. It’s worth remembering that football clubs, like any organisation, need to deal with sensitive matters in a professional way. There’s a difference between being open and overstepping the mark. Revealing why someone stepped down, how long it was known internally, or the status of an assistant manager before anything has been confirmed isn’t just unwise, it’s genuinely unprofessional. It risks damaging relationships and can make it harder to bring in the right people further down the line. Supporters have every right to expect honesty. But they also deserve a club that handles its business with care and integrity, even when not everything can be shared straight away.

  6. I wouldn't be surprised when wimmer left that part of the agreement was that ahmet would stay on to oversee any day to day stuff until we appoint a new manager and he would then join wimmer.hopefully the club has someone in mind and can get a deal done soon and we don't waste our time holding interviews with the likes of naismith and docherty.

  8. No superiority complex, nor cryptic style. Just a loathing of some who think their £5 monthly sub correlates with knowing every decision or move the club makes.

  9. We may be a fan-owned club, but that doesn't change my post. There's information that simply can't be divulged to the public, even if that public includes Well Society members. There are processes in place for a reason. I would think that the interview with Kyrk was planned for such a time as more details had been ironed out with Ahmet, and most likely not because he was reading SO during his lunch break today and decided to get an impromptu video recorded!

  10. To be fair though Wimmer only left on Friday. He couldn't really have given the update sooner particularly if the club was closed yesterday for the bank holiday. I do agree that supporters should be kept in the loop but that's not a bad timescale for putting out the facts in my view. Particularly as they couldn't say anything until Wimmer left

  11. Some overlap with the managerial thread. Not sure I wholly agree David. We're a fan owned club and should be kept informed of what is going on. Again I'm not advocating a blow by blow account of everything thats unfolding;thats clearly unreasonable. However its not unreasonable to be told if anyone is in charge, even temporarily, of the playing side. The club clearly reads this forum as Kyrk MacMillan's recently released interview answers most if not all of our questions. Having listened to it, I'm now pretty much up to date with what is going on. He's given us the necessary information in an open way, whilst still being professional. Thats all many of us asked.

  12. Yeah quite impressed by it (media dept obviously looks in here🤔). Would love him to stay but have a feeling that he'll join Wimmer back in Germany at some point.

  13. Enlighten me wtf is sensitive about the club confirming that a current club employee is still employed at the club?

  14. Me neither. But I guess its a way around getting the player to sign a 1 year deal if they are looking for more security. I wouldnt imagine for a minute the club or SK would have thought that SOD was likely to hit the 30 game mark or whatever it was, with all the options open to us at RB/RCB, but the number of injuries we picked up ultimately meant he had to play. I think we all agree that McGinn is the better player and more reliable performer of the 2, but his injury record raises more concerns for me at offering him a new deal after SODs was activated. In an ideal world Id keep McGinn and move SODs on. But thats not how it has played out.

  15. One of the main questions asked at interviews is about being commited to stay long term and if family moving over. Looks like he's wanted back in Bavaria for a while

  16. I don't really get why we'd have gave SOD a clause in his favour. He was hardly going to have loads of offers from clubs higher up the foodchain.

  17. Its been fairly well documented that SOD had a clause in his contract that he got a years extension if he played x number of games. The suggestion was that Halliday had similar. Given Halliday played every game and SOD wasnt far behind him bar his injury, Im not sure why this is even a discussion. McGinn is a different matter. But he is a better player and club captain, so harder to argue against.

  18. How about… ‘The club can confirm that Ahmet Koc has/has not left his position as assistant manager’

  19. Having a recruitment team is useful for transitional periods like this. Managers aren't as involved in signings as they used to be. Glad that things are still moving. Contract end dates didn't just change because the manager left, and we pretty much know who is gone anyway. Wimmer left on Friday, it's Tuesday now, with a bank holiday in between. Not sure what information of substance on the manager situation the club can offer up at this point. I'm sure we will get a video soon enough. The club did a great job of keeping things close to their chest last time, and I hope they manage the same again.

  20. It was previously published on 24 May 2024, 31 May 2023, and 20 May 2022, so there isn’t really any pattern to it. To me, the silence on this issue, in favour of other announcements, is a little concerning. You can add the lack of info on Koc to that concern.

  24. They still make mistakes they just take longer doing it. I'm fine with goal line technology, even automatic offsides but let the referee referee the match. Checking every goal for the slightest infringement in the same phase of play is virtually anti football in sentiment.

  25. There is no benefit of the doubt in an offside decision, it's either offside or onside. The only time that changes is with the "interfering with play" part. It would still be a toenail, just from a different reference point.

  26. I’m sure if they sat down for a bit they could reword the offside law to enable quick VAR decisions. Another area needing some focus is handball decisions and again I think if they put their heads together they could come up with a quick checklist for VAR team. Just a few questions with yes or no answers. Perhaps you need all answers to be yes or maybe if any answer is yes then it’s a penalty. Third area than can affect a game in a big way is red and yellow cards. This one might be the hardest to resolve and I’m not sure how we get around that. Not VAR but Last point is my current pet hate and not sure if rules have changed or not but apparently refs just ignore the obstruction rule now as players get away with jumping if front of opposing players, well away from playing distance of the ball, and don’t get penalized. Seems to have started happening in the last year or two.
