  1. That’s just your reasoned opinion versus mine, which is completely fair. Based on your response, my post seems pretty balanced: you agreed with four points and disagreed with five. The idea that views like mine somehow equate to pant-wetting insanity is, frankly, madness in itself. The long and short of it is—and this isn’t aimed at you—is that too many are more interested in posting reductive pish to take shots at anyone voicing an opinion, rather than offering anything constructively critical themselves.

  4. More signings will come with or without the Miller millions. I’m confident we’ll look to build a more balanced and financially sensible squad than we’ve seen in recent seasons. And that doesn’t mean scraping the barrel. It means prioritising quality over quantity.

  5. Agreed, I'd like to think he has a lot more ambition in his career to even contemplate signing for that lot.

  7. More chance of accies merging with Blantyre Vic's to make one shite team rather than two.

  8. And probably "vice versa" too.

  9. Mind there was talk of us merging with airdrie when boyle first came in and the fans were going off there head about that, like you said I've never met a motherwell fan that has wanted to merge with any other club.ive also never known a Motherwell fan that thinks we're a tinpot entity either that's a smaller club than morton and Dunfermline, mjc is clearly making stuff up cause there isn't any games the now where he can predict we're going to lose every time.

  10. I have literally never met a Motherwell fan who wanted us to merge with Accies. Ever.

  11. Exactly - and whilst I disagreed with 5, 4 of them I have put not proven and in time that could be as high 8/9 that I agree with. All in, this is what I prefer in the forum. I felt that your post got skipped over without acknowledgement or debate as it was in this thread. Hopefully this triggers a few more comments rather than it was a meaningless friendly and we move on.

  12. You're right in that he's way out of our league budget wise but if Hearts are spending that much on Fat Larry, it's an act of folly...

  13. Prudence should be the name of the game even if we get millions for Miller. The last thing we need to be doing is following the John Boyle Model of Recruitment & Financial Management.

  15. Ask Dundee if Tony was a safe pair of hands. The statement ...... knows the Scottish game and safe pair of hands is why Scottish Football is shite, boring and dying on its arse. Thought you had more imagination than that.

  16. For talking sake would you take Shankland (potentially 20+ goals) if we sold Miller for a good whack of cash or go with the new managers options? I don’t think it would make sense but if he was willing to come would it be of benefit or a detriment? I’m leaning towards no but this is also not a rumour

  18. I'm really not interested in how Twente played, good or bad, this season or last. And I could not care less about Falkirk or Edinburgh City. All of whom were, like us, playing their first game of the season. So all the same qualifications apply. What I am interested in is Motherwell and I expected more from them yesterday, even with all those valid comments about first game, new Manager, opposition, new tactics etc etc. And that's fair comment. Or am I and others not allowed to say we were disappointed in what we saw? Not overly concerned, but disappointed. Rightly or wrongly I expected more. The performance of our experienced defenders was poor and they looked far from comfortable at being asked to play out from the back, with Ward also struggling supporting as sweeper. Midfield and up front we looked ponderous, with little link up play. Lack of pace all over the pitch. Little threat up front. I challenge anyone who watched the game to say my assessment was wrong. . The youngsters that came on performed well, which also highlighted how off it the first choices were. But for me those youngsters were the only positive yesterday. Again that fact raises questions. And the budget available to the opposition is irrelevant. At times last season those same players performed well against opposition with far greater resources than us. Even when playing against superior opposition, I came away from some games feeling we had did ourselves justice., despite losing. Not yesterday. Will we improve? Most definitely. Am I saying we will struggle this season? No . Did I expect more from our established players? Yes. Will the new Manager be more aware now of the challenges he faces? Undoubtedly. The criticism posters are getting for raising valid points is nonsense.
