If anyone was excited about a game at NDP I can only assume this is their first season following the sport. There has not been an entertaining game in that stadium since the day they rolled out that plastic abomination, regardless of the teams involved. As for masters of the letdown, every set of fans say that, and ours forget to say it when, for example, we stuff Rangers in a play off (or cup semi), get 2nd place with a last gasp winner at Pittodrie or beat Dundee Utd in front of a huge crowd. We win our fair share of big games, but we're not big enough to win them all. See Dundee or St Mirren for other examples.

Every team wastes time. The trick is to not be in a position where time wasting affects you.

Good following today and a right few roasters among them, pulled one up for trying to wreck a seat,spent about 15 mins punching and throwing a ball about which could easily smacked of an elderly person not bothering a fuck about game,same later when it was 2 each.then there was the masked twat with the flare.

A good assessment from JBA there. Accepts that it wasn’t good enough and didn’t win but very balanced and states that we have to go and win on Tuesday. He certainly speaks well.

You can say what you like about Halliday, but he can certainly be trusted with a penalty. 😄

Not a great performance to be sure but the manager has now seen in a competitive match, just how poor our central defenders are.

A decent workout and a good demonstration of our defensive deficiencies to the new manager. Hot day on a plastic pitch was always going to be a difficult watch.

Slats and Halliday using the "fake argument" approach to that free kick. I remember we had a similar routine under Ally McLeod where Willie Irvine and Brian McLaughlin would "argue" before Irvine flicked the ball over the wall for the man at the end to run on to. Only ever remember it working once.

That will likely be intentional. I remember Accies only used to water the half they were attacking in. Then turned on the sprinklers for the other half during the interval. Also, Slats needs to change his footwear, because he's struggling to stay upright,

Gordon was poor in his latter games for St J and after a brief encouraging start with us he then reverted to little better than the rest. Positional and ball retention, trying to play out hardly inspiring. There has to be a player in there given his earlier St J performances and I think he found playing in a back three especially difficult. I have hopes that in a back four, concentrating on defensive duties, we will see the player we hoped we had signed. But he needs a partnership and I do not think Balmer is that player. So yes we need a CB that the Manager knows and trusts.

Gordons fine when he's played to his core strengths of defending high balls and clearing his lines, not so sure how he'll cope with playing it out from the back which looks like the way we'll be set up.
