  2. Good following today and a right few roasters among them, pulled one up for trying to wreck a seat, spent about 15 mins punching and throwing a ball about which could easily smacked of an elderly person not bothering a fuck about game, same later when it was 2 each.then there was the masked twat with the flare.

  3. I’m on the fence regarding the goalie style of play obvious drawback we are all aware of but it does allow us to get more players ahead of the ball. I thought the first half we maintained possession well and there were was hardly a hoof ball played the whole first half. There were some longer passes but they were decent balls where our player was always the favorite to win the ball. Midfielders were showing for the ball making it easier for us to make passes and keep possession. However, second half was very different story. For our level of players I think it’s very hard for them to maintain that for a full 90 mins. Having that focus and mentality goes downhill fast as you start to tire. So between fitness and heat yesterday we just couldn’t maintain the first half control. Sure, we made subs but that didn’t seem to work in maintaining then level of focus and fitness required. While disappointed yesterday I’m confident we will improve and that the manager will be a bit more analytical in his assessment and able to prioritize what needs fixing first. With some new players likely to come in there still cause for optimism. Yours faithfully, Happy Clapper πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

  4. You must have been at opposite side of stand from me where we had the pleasure of an older guy calling him a useless c**t, embarrassing. I don't do away games because I can't be bothered with the antics of some elements and sadly yesterday just proved why I won't be going to another away game. Maybe I am just getting old but it took away a lot of the enjoyment from yesterday. No doubt though the media team will perceive it differently. Again that's just my opinion COYW

  7. Understandably, after the frenetic pace of last week's arrivals, and yesterday's debacle in the sun, there's been more talk of the need for additional arrivals. Thats to be expected. However, JBA may also wish to loan out or mutual a few players he doesn't fancy to balance numbers. An interesting few weeks ahead.

  8. There were a few factors that mitigated today’s performance - the heat, the appalling pitch that acted as a great leveller, and a referee who was very lenient towards cynical time wasting by Clyde - but in my opinion a good number of our fans had a poorer game than Stephen O’Donnell. Many of the things they accuse home of - losing concentration being the most obvious - they displayed throughout the ninety minutes, playing volleyball, lighting flares and directing unkind and unnecessary comments towards the team. Not that they can’t criticise a poor performance but singling out someone who was far from the worst, who was not directly responsible for either of the goals we conceded and who always shows willing and makes himself available is not how I would characterise supporting your team. In a game we didn’t lose. We should be better than this considering we are a community club, fan owned and team oriented. We will need to be better than this if we start this nonsense this early in the season.

  9. If anyone was excited about a game at NDP I can only assume this is their first season following the sport. There has not been an entertaining game in that stadium since the day they rolled out that plastic abomination, regardless of the teams involved. As for masters of the letdown, every set of fans say that, and ours forget to say it when, for example, we stuff Rangers in a play off (or cup semi), get 2nd place with a last gasp winner at Pittodrie or beat Dundee Utd in front of a huge crowd. We win our fair share of big games, but we're not big enough to win them all. See Dundee or St Mirren for other examples.

  10. Reverting back to this point. Firstly on FB - it has been pointed out on many on occasion on this forum how we revert to comments on FB and Twitter. I do think it's relevant to point this out. Second of all, I have pointed out that despite the posters frustrations why the manager cannot state the same rhetoric. Are you saying that he should have said we were pish yesterday? Are you therefore saying similarly that anyone that says "SOD was pish and should never wear the jersey again" has the same just cause - because he was frustrated? I'm not hear to cause a fight with you - in fact lots of your opinions I've backed - but similarly and I hope you see this in good light, I think it's fair to say I disagree with the initial poster.

  14. Who would make the decision as to what is over the top. A minimum wage steward employed by the club we are visiting ,a policeman, a fellow fan ? Who is going to go into the crowd and do the chucking out ? Are the ejected fans pals who don’t agree with the decision to chuck him out going to stand by quietly and let it happen. Finally with the reintroduction of beer and vodka into grounds imminent i think those in charge of security will have more to worry about than this. Lets face it as being totally unrealistic, unworkable and a daft idea.

  16. I'm having a good giggle at the last page or too. What sort of "abuse" are we talking about here? I've just seen it mentioned in the same post as fucking racism. Wild. Pyro, I don't get. It's illegal and they know the risks. Moaning about the stand chucking the ball about is a bit "old man yells at cloud" type stuff.

  17. I'd like to see the " hard cases" who were pushing and shoving the stewards lifted but if there's no police, it probably won't happen We can all be high and mighty about racial abuse but young folk trying to make a few bob don't deserve this, probably get a lot less hassle stewardiing at an oasis gig . I did notice the boy with the knitted mask on, he must've been bloody roasting, his mates will reckon he's a character tho.

  18. I actually stopped going to away games last season because of all the shit happening and I didn't see anything yesterday that would make me want to change my mind. We have some right cretins in our support and I'm more and more starting to see why Bob Park gave up the ghost and walked.

  20. Like others, I think SOD's best days are definitely behind him and he's back up, at best. However he's an honest professional and a good ambassador for the club and doesn't deserve the type of abuse he received yesterday.

  21. Completely agree - you'd think SOD was some form of evil who some how has convinced several managers to play him in a whole bunch of positions simply to sabotage and ensure we lose. He's a local guy who like us all has flaws and clearly gives his best. It's about time the modern game exits anyone from the crowd for being abusive .

  22. SOD didn't have a good game but some of the shouts aimed at him are just ridiculous. The guy wears the jersey like every other player and tries his best. With a fully fit squad I wouldn't have him in starting xi

  23. Agreed, that was Alex Fergusons approach in every team he built, a solid spine in the team as you mentioned with the keeper and CH the priority. Craig Brown done it when he took over, made us difficult to beat and built a decent team that took us to Europe.

  24. It'll be a lot cooler and played on a decent pitch so that takes away some of the reasons/excuses from Saturday. Askou has said he'll be utilising the whole squad and treating these games as 'competitive pre-season' so I think we will see changes. Could be an opportunity to play some younger players, especially if we can take the lead. At this stage in the season you can't expect a well oiled machine, it's more about getting into the knock stages, so it's result over performances for me.

  25. Im not sure why you are mentioning my Facebook comments on here tbh. It's got nothing to do with this forum. Yeah I know what the initial comment was. I also responded later to say that I wasn't expecting miracles - btw the person who posted that initial comment is a die hard Motherwell fan who was at the game today and was probably feeling a bit frustrated - surely that's allowed? I personally think if we did play crap - a manager should have the right to express it. I don't think it's necessarily throwing players under the bus - lots of fans who were at the game thought we were rotten today. I would personally rather a manager came out and said that than glossed over it.

  26. I noticed your facebook comment - in response to another poster. The initial comment being "If it's anything other than sorry that was pish he needs to have a real think" Surely by now we know that what a manager has to say - he can't respond like a fan. As a manager of players he will choose his words wisely - and we hope he takes away what we all see. Managers who chuck their players under a bus don't last long. Good managers move the players who are not required out in the longer term and bring in others to take their place.

  27. I think the line up was JBA making the best of what he has given that Miller took a knock at the Carlisle game and McGhee is apparently injured

  28. Forget what I said before. Today made it very clear this team is missing a spine. We need a GK, CH, CM, and CF. All of them starters.

  29. I think this is one of those times where continental managers come in and assume players at a top league level can actually control, pass the ball and play out from the back. He's going to find out they can't.

  32. I've read our new manager has a reputation for being a good defensive coach, but still think he needs better defenders to work with.

  33. A decent workout and a good demonstration of our defensive deficiencies to the new manager. Hot day on a plastic pitch was always going to be a difficult watch.

  34. Does anyone seriously think that we would be in a position to turn down an offer of anywhere near Β£4.5m if we got one? And does anyone seriously believe that if offered the chance Miller wouldn’t go to Celtic for what would be life changing money and the opportunity to win silverware and play in the Champions League?? Because if there is anyone who thinks either of the above then it’s time to wake up and smell the coffee.

  35. I imagine most financial contributors to the Society only want to support the club and have no interest in the day-to-day running. I don't have a problem with that.
