  2. My band has a gig on Saturday at half eight in a right proper h*n pub. It's either going to be a brilliant night or a right sore one for me. Hopefully, we'll be kicking off the night with 'Twist & Shout'. I did that the night we beat them (when Kettlewell was manager) and instead of the usual.....good evening, welcome to the <whatever boozer>, I started with good evening, here we go.....if you know, you know !

  3. Oh, I remember that as if it was yesterday. Stuart Rennie and the 4 step rule. I never saw it applied until that night. Another day when the ref had it in for us.

  5. The Forest/Napoli/Bologna transfer part seems genuine and now widely reported that Forest have upped their bid to Bologna for Ndoye. A replacement for Elanga who left for Newcastle.. Miller might be a fabricated add-on but the more the Forest thing pans out the more it lends authenticity to the story. We will find out soon I guess.

  6. But there wasnt 6000 like you in those 10,000 crowds. Fans will come out for a big game for every team then disappear like snow off a dyke. No one is criticising fans who are hundreds or even thousands of miles away but most in those 10,000 crowds will probably live withing 20 miles of Fir Park. On a slightly different note you look at social media like twitter (or X if you prefer) Motherwell have 63,000 followers, St Mirren have 43,000 followers, Kilmarnock have 56,000, Falkirk have 36,000 followers and every one of them will leave us standing in next years average attendance stakes. I know they wont all be Motherwell fans but there is obviously a connection there, we have many who are obviously interested in the club but have no desire to come to Fir Park. Our stagnant attendances whether we are good bad or indifferent is frustrating , even more so for the Well society I suspect.

  7. We do though , we can get 10,000 for Cup semis and finals, we couldn't get 10,00 of our own fans in Fir Park for a league game if we paid them.

  9. There’s definitely a time for the long ball or taking the chance of getting the ball into the box but that’s what the players have to learn, making the right decision between retaining possession and taking a risk. Our normal over the past few years has involved no such decision making, it’s just been hoof the ball up and chase it.

  10. Every team that plays out from the back loses a goal like that - even the good ones like Liverpool. Brendan Rodgers had a point when he said that fans are quick to criticise when you lose a goal that way, but are quick to forget (or not even remember) when the long ball gets returned 10 seconds later for a goal - and that happens more often.

  11. I’m sitting watching the hearts v Sunderland game and I have to say the way we have played in the past 2 games is miles more entertaining than this muck. Hearts keep launching the ball up the park and into Channels and Sunderland aren’t much better although are trying to play a wee bit.(they will be relegated by Xmas) i think im becoming Askou-ized
